Nifty and Useful! So, for those used to the great VOMs from a prior century: this is different! I grew up on, and loved, those great meters from a prior century - but time moves on! These meters won't deliver quite the 'real' satisfaction of an old-style meter: but wait! This is a new era: many current meters, such as the AstroAI, are very much up to the task. They are compact, accurate, and deliver accurate readings at a low price. What's not to like? True, they don't have the 'heft' of prior decade versions of VOMs, and they lack the satisfaction of a needle showing the exact voltage or ohms - but they make up for that in accurate readings at a low price point. Be mindful that your probes are plugged into the the right sockets and all will be well! Definitely recommend!

I picked it up for basic home and DIY electrical checks, and it has handled everything I’ve thrown at it without any issues. Right out of the box, it feels lightweight but well-built, not cheap or flimsy. The display is clear and easy to read, even in low light, and the dial is straightforward, which makes it beginner-friendly while still being useful for more experienced users. I’ve used it to check AC/DC voltage, resistance, continuity, and diodes, and the readings have been consistent and accurate compared to other meters I own. The continuity test responds quickly, which is something I really appreciate when tracing wires or checking connections. Measuring current and resistance is just as simple, and switching between functions is smooth with no lag. This thing is a lifesaver. We were in the middle of trying to do electrical work on our 70s flipped home ourselves (dangerous) and could not figure out how things were wired / which wires went where. This saved us from having to call an electrician and spend hundreds just to connect a new vanity light in our bathroom. Highly highly highly recommend. Easy / readable enough for people who know nothing about electric to use :) And seems like it will last a long time.

I needed a multimeter to keep on hand, especially to test my car battery and alternator when my battery light came on. I ordered this one and have been very happy with it. The instructions were easy to follow for each type of testing, which made it simple to use right away. It’s also very accurate. I had my battery tested at multiple places, and the readings all matched what I got with this. It’s a great size, and I just keep it in my glove compartment so it’s always handy. It feels durable and well-made too. The only downside is that it didn’t come with protectors for the test probes like some other models do, so you just need to be a bit careful with those. Other than that, I’m very happy with it!

High quality product with a fair price.

I have found this meter (my 2nd, the 1st was gifted after much use) to be everything I needed. I choose the AM33B over the AM33D. The AM33D, like many meters, has an abundance of amperage selections, but that is the one thing I find myself never measuring...AMPS. The AM33B has three amperage settings, more than enough, and they included three battery test options instead of all the amperage options. I find myself checking battery voltage a lot what with rechargeable batteries and standard batteries. Duracell had a squeeze option to test the battery but that went by the wayside. Yes, this is overkill if you're only going to test batteries with it, but voltage options, resistance options and diode checker are something the average person is going to use. Another positive thing is the two AA batteries, vice the 9V battery in the AM33D. The backlight and hold buttons are excellent options. To say this is an entry level multimeter is just plain wrong. Buy a meter that has the options you will use, not a meter full of uselessness.

Nice little DVM goes to 10 AMP DC. Batteries were included.
