Alive

AWESOME! This woman really is one of the greatest out there right now. It frustrates me so much that the US can't easily get what she's creating. I loved her first album and rocked the follow up EP, but this album blows me away. In love with her music! She gets you up and dancing, makes you giggle, cry and think. Some may think that's a bit "too far" with pop music but I disagree. I think a great pop artist can have you run the entire spectrum of emotions while still keeping you entertained. Jessie does that on this project. One final note: this girl has vocals! There are a number of ladies out there with chops but so very few know how to use them. The think doing a run in the middle of a line for no reason is showing how skilled they are. Wrong. You're showing that you don't recognize how to sing or what your song is actually about. That's not Jessie though. Jessie knows why she should "go there" and knows exactly how to go there. Y'all this is an awesome album, I very much recommend grabbing it. I wouldn't wait for the US version because you know some exec will get ahold of it, add some meaningless noise and about a dozen talentless rappers. It won't be the same, and that's IF we get it released here.

Jessie J is one of the most talented musicians of her generation and she does not disappoint with this album! I was a huge fan of her first CD, but she stepped it up 100% with 'Alive'. It's amazing how much she has grown as a vocalist and performer, especially when she had proved her enormous talent from the start. This album has been on repeat since it came out, and it's one of those albums in which you never want to skip over a song. I cannot say enough positive things about it- please do yourself a favor and buy this CD!

I honestly can't believe more people haven't bought this yet. An essential chapter in Jessie J's career that was denied an American release for a long time. From start to finish, heart felt lyrics and intelligently crafted melodies, not just pro tools crap thrown together in a minute. The drums, the synths and live instruments combine and compliment Jessie's powerhouse vocals. She's firing at full horsepower vocally, and it's so beautiful.

I came of age during the Woodstock generation Stax and Motown.You can throw in some Bob Marley too. So I am not attuned to the hip hop genre and the modern trends. "Jessie J" ?There are at least 3 vocalists with similar sounding names what artists album should I order to update my listening experience? Well I made the right choice. I enjoyed the melodic crystal clear vibratory surfing and vocal intonations. The choice of songs were pleasing and she seemed to be having fun in making the album. It's mostly up tempo, a slow ballad would have been richly appreciated if one had been included. All in all money well spent.

I love Jessie J, and was obsessed with "Thunder" when I first discovered it on YouTube. I read tons of reviews on this album, and eventually decided to spring for the UK version as it apparently wasn't going to be released in the US. I'm so glad that I did...this album is incredible! There isn't a single song on this CD that I skip when I've got it in the car.

Jesse J is so unique and I love her voice and cadence. Recommend for sure

All the songs are amazing...especially Thunder. Jessie J has pipes!!! Girl can sing: soft, whispery, airy, pure, gravelly, "normal" singing, and "jaw-dropping raw power/strength belting"...she can do it all!!! Get it. You won't be disappointed!!!

I wasn't too familiar w her music except for the song "Domino". Which I thot katy perry sang. This girl has lungs, beat, rhythm and soul. Love her.

When she first came out, I thought that she was too 'overexposed', and I didn't like her first single, but ever since Price Tag, I have taken notice of Jessie J, and after hearing Domino and Laserlight, I would say that she is the best female vocalists around right now (and am extremely disappointed she's not on the voting list for this years MTV VMA's). Anyway as its been a while since I felt the urge to buy a 'new release' album (mainly due to the poor standard of songs/artists), I decided to buy the deluxe edition cd release last night, which came with Autorip, as I quite like the versatility of the Amazon Cloud Player and Autorip. The tracks were available this morning when I checked my emails, and I have to say I am not disappointed. I had wondered if there might be too much rap, but no, its just good pop, for the most part. I started to get excited about this album after hearing her voice on the Boots advert, singing an unknown song, which turned out to be Sexy Lady, which is one of the best tracks on the album. Other brilliant tracks are Harder We Fall, Breathe, Gold, Hero, Magnetic and the already released singles. One thing I will say, the cover artwork is a terrible photo of Jessie, I have no idea why anyone thought this would make a good album cover - but putting that aside, overall a great second release for Jessie J.
