Hitting Hurts features an easy-to-follow approach for how to get your toddler to stop hitting. The book helps children learn to express their anger and frustration through words and naming their emotions, rather than hitting. It teaches “no hitting” by using real photos and a relatable story of a child learning about what she can do—not just what she can’t do—when feeling upset. Scan the QR code on the back of the book for access to additional on-topic resources and approaches developed by experts to show toddlers that hands are not for hitting. The best book!!
My 4 year old son has been having some hitting issues this summer, and I ordered a bunch of books off Amazon to help. This is by far the most impactful, and favorite and actually helpful! He even referenced it the next morning. Loveevery has been a family favorite since my oldest was born in 2018 and their books are standout. I love that we can continue to grow with this brand that helps with tough parenting topics.

Effective and good story
Cute book. The story is easy for toddlers to follow along. My toddler really enjoyed reading this with us and it seemed to work. She stopped hitting a few days after reading this daily.

Good Book for Toddlers
My grandchildren love these books. Wonderful Children’s faces that they can relate to and topics are understandable both visually and the writing. Highly recommend.

Realistic story line and characters!
We have been reading this book to my daughter since she was about 16 months old. She loves the realistic story line and characters. It seems to have helped decrease the frequency of her hitting, so we will continue to read it to her regularly.

Good enough
Good but I don’t think it’s worth the price. Obviously for the name but one of the better hitting books we could find that’s a board book so we’ll be keeping it

This book helped my daughter learn the concept of not whacking her brother. Yes, just purchase it.
