is this a manual defrost type freezer?

Yes it is great size well worth the buy 👍

Can you explain the functions of the green and orange lights?

The green light is the power light so this should be illuminated at all times when connected to the power supply. The orange light indicates that the Fast Freeze has been selected. This overrides the thermostat so that the compressor operates continuously to lower the freezer temperature quickly. Our Freezers have an adjustable Fast Freeze which enables you to choose the length of time that you want the Fast Freeze to run. The option selected is shown by the power indicator flashing state.
