Volume 20 hits the ground running. The fallout from the timeskip is still fresh, but we finally see Boruto, Sarada, and Kawaki clash in ways that feel personal instead of just flashy. Ikemoto’s art looks sharper than ever; the speed lines and close-ups carry real weight, and a mid-volume double spread had me lingering on the page longer than I’d like to admit. I finished the whole book in one sitting but kept flipping back to catch tiny background details that foreshadow where the plot might head next.What really surprised me is how well the pacing balances character beats with action. We get a look at Boruto’s new techniques, glimpses of hidden agendas inside Konoha, and just enough lore crumbs about the Divine Tree to keep theory-crafting until Volume 21. The ending lands on a cliffhanger that left me reflex-checking the page count, wishing for one more chapter.Printing quality is solid. The matte cover resists fingerprints, the spine glue doesn’t crack when you open it wide, and the paper stock keeps the blacks rich without bleeding through.
