Works as intended
Did exactly what I wanted it to do, turned my Amazon Echo 5 into usb power, cutting down on the amount of sockets needed.

1 year in with no issues so far, would recommend
Have had this for probably over a year now, performs very well with no issues so far. Using it to power a CarPlay screen that only accepts 12V, the adapter the screen came with was a simple 12V cigarette lighter plug to DC barrel jack of this dimensions, and the cigarette lighter plug only had 2 USB A ports for charging phones etc, not good for actual fast charging of any modern devices. So I got myself a multi-port USB C PD charger that plugs into the 12V cigarette lighter port, and got this adapter so I can trigger one of those USB C ports to output 12V to power the screen. Now I have power going to the screen + 100W USB C charging available to any one of my USB C devices. 100% would recommend this adapter.

Works for Elektron Digitakt drum machine, long
While for me, it's maybe 3 mm too long of a barrel and it sticks out plus kind of wiggles, electrically this thing works great. It fits in the back of the Digitakt perfectly. See the two images. I'm using a Baseus 65W power bank that supports 12 volt power delivery. So I don't have to plug the Digitakt into the wall anymore. For the money it's an incredible value. I wish the specifications listed the barrel length so that I could have planned for a longer barrel and perhaps made a non-conductive washer. I don't see another option on Amazon which is a simple adapter like this with a short barrel. 5.5x2.5 mm Is what I needed and I got it.

phantom power draw
bought this to power an MPC off a battery bank, drains a 140wh bank 25% overnight, constant 0.2w draw, and the resistor used causes unnecessary power draw due to "tricking" the PD into 12v. garbage.

Works as described.
Product works perfectly. The adaptor will provide 12V if your USB-C PD charger has a 12V mode. It draws just enough power at idle to activate a USB tester, so you can see for yourself that you're getting the correct voltage.
