From an overall performance and usability standpoint, it is a well-designed streaming device that delivers a smooth and responsive experience. Streaming is fast and consistent, with applications loading quickly and navigation feeling responsive. I particularly appreciate the improved search functionality, which makes locating specific programs and content considerably more efficient than manually browsing through extensive menus. The Wi-Fi 6E compatibility is another notable feature, particularly for users with a modern wireless network. The connection has been reliable, and I have experienced no significant buffering or connectivity issues. I purchased the Like-New version and was pleased with both the condition of the device and its functionality. It has performed exactly as I had hoped, which is especially important when purchasing refurbished or pre-owned electronics. My only real criticism is the remote control. I wish it had a backlit keypad. It can be difficult to see the buttons when watching television in a dark room, which is a minor but noticeable inconvenience. Overall, I consider this an excellent combination of performance, convenience, and value. I would readily purchase another unit for my beach house and would recommend it to anyone looking for a capable and dependable streaming device.

​I am beyond furious with the persistent connectivity failures of this Fire TV device. What's truly astounding is that these are the exact same problems I recall from an older Fire TV I owned years ago! It is absolutely baffling and infuriating that Amazon has failed to address such a fundamental flaw in their product line over what must be at least three years, if not more. ​Living in an area prone to power outages, I am consistently subjected to a ridiculous ritual every single time the power returns. The Fire TV, in its infinite "wisdom," rushes to connect to my Wi-Fi router before the router itself has re-established an internet connection from the modem. The result? A bold "No Internet" message plastered on my screen. ​And don't think for a second it will intelligently figure this out on its own. Oh no. You could wait for hours, and the Fire TV would stubbornly refuse to acknowledge that internet access has, in fact, been restored. The ONLY way to jolt this brick into recognizing the live internet connection is to manually go into settings, turn off the Wi-Fi, turn it back on, or perform a full device restart. ​It is absolutely insane that in this day and age, the Fire TV is the only device in my entire household that is incapable of automatically restoring its internet connection after a power outage. My phone, my laptop, my smart home devices—everything else seamlessly reconnects the moment the modem and router are back online. But not the Fire TV. It remains a stubborn island of disconnection, requiring manual intervention every single time. ​To add insult to injury, the hardware seems to have taken a nosedive right alongside the software. The battery life on the new controller is abysmal compared to previous generations. With my old Fire TV remote, a single pair of batteries would last for what felt like eternity. On this new model, the controller eats through batteries at an alarming rate, forcing me to swap them out constantly. It is just one more way this device creates unnecessary maintenance and cost. ​This isn't a new, isolated bug. This is a long-standing, frustrating, and frankly, unacceptable issue that Amazon has clearly neglected for years. Save yourself the headache, the cost of endless batteries, and the inevitable rage-inducing troubleshooting sessions. This device, and apparently the Fire TV line's handling of network reconnections, is a joke.
