Will the z edge bar work for carpet to karndean looselay which is only 4.5mm thick. can the curved edge be pressed down flat to the karndean ?

Only used with carpet. If you try to bend edge it won't have the required finish

what thickness of laminate can be fitted using this strip

I used this for carpet on one side and 14mm real wood flooring on the other side (link attached). Works really well, looks great and because the threshold bar is angled you can afford to go a little thicker with whatever hard floors you go for I think.
