Very nice full size radio
I like this radio. It is pretty honest about the output power and the receiver seems to be pretty good as well. I like the size and heft of the radio and the screen is very nice and easy to read. Battery life is really good. It has pretty good output power on the 1.25m band that you usually don't have on other radios. The receiver audio is excellent and so is the transmitted audio. The longer 771 style antenna is great on the swr meter in the bands you normally use, even decent enough for the 1.25m band. The body of the radio is built to be durable and I guess somewhat water resistant by the look of the speaker mic cover having a screw to attach the cover tightly. This is one of my favorite radios out of the close to 30 radios I have. I don't think you can go wrong with this one. All in all a pretty good value. Definitely one of the best Radtel radios. If I have any other updates I will edit this review at a later time.

GREAT Radio! Great Value
I must have lucked out with this one. Compared to some other reviews. It's a fantastic radio. It comes on clear, is durable, receives and transmits perfectly. The programming on the radio itself isnt as easy but with the software makes it easy. However the downside is the battery isn't as good as I would have thought and the programming cable is specifically made for this radio. As in you can't use Baofang programming cords or mics. But I love this radio over all.

Crap, plain and simple
I had high expectations after reading reviews here. The upshot is this: Squelch levels change depending on which antenna you use. Display is noisy and interferes with weaker signals which in turn affects squelch and signal suddenly gets squelched even with strong signal. Crap. Returning for refund, not gonna bother with a replacement.

(revised) Had a dud radio, but Radtel sent a new one that works as it should.
The radio was on my purchase list for a while before I bought it. It seemed like it would be the perfect radio. The battery life is nice and it has a firm feel in the hand, it is chirp compatible. It is an all band radio that can operate between 10mhz and 630mhz. However, that is more in theory than it is in actual operation. It does receive air band fairly well and will receive anything between 136mhz and 480mhz without a problem. It will only receive outside of uhf/vhf in close proximity. The first one I received would transmit between 7-9 watts on high power on the vhf i.e. MURS and 2m but it has puts out barely 1 watt on high power on the uhf band. Thus, it was pretty much useless for transmitting on 70cm or GMRS. The only real use for it is as a scanner. Radtel sent a replacement radio, and it works correctly and puts out the advertised amount of power. A winner after a dud. Radtel has good customer service if needed.

Good HAM or SHTF radio with absolutely fantastic display!
The display is the radio! I’m retired now and while stacking on the years my eyes just don’t perform like they used to. So my ability's to read the display data is a pass/fail factor in my radio hobby. Beyond the great display the backlit keypad is a nice feature along with the dual PTT & ability to charge the battery with a usb “ C “ charging cable. The menus and functions are all intuitive and I was able to use the dual VFO’s on simplex calling frequencies almost effortlessly. More advanced programming is also easy. The only problem I have with it is the top mounted channel select switch is awful. It’s simply the lowest quality channel switch on any radio I’ve ever used. It is either defective or a HUGE mistake by Radtel. This is my fourth Radtel radio that I own. At $ 60.00 the complete package with programming cable and the other standard accessories make it even with the wonkiest channel selector it’s still a good mid tier dual band full feature radio. I paid full price for it and am not affiliated with Radtel or any radio dealership. Jim Boyle KF4COP/WRVP232

All round good radio
You can transmit on 2M, 70cm, and GMRS frequencies. It actually delivers the 10 watts that it says it does on most bands. It’s easy to program and works with chirp. The battery lasts all day with moderate use. If I needed another radio I would buy more of these.

Overall OK
Overall a good product for the price. Anyone can learn how to use it. If you do not know much about what radio frequencies are used then I would suggest spending some time doing internet searches. The battery performs well. Do not expect exceptional range for transmitting. Receiving is good but not anything special. The screen is nice but you can not change the brightness level. The menu is easy to navigate but it’s time consuming. For the price you pay and the functionality you get, I would recommend it. I would buy it again.

Excellent radio excellent value for the price.
Have many handhelds in my collection, but this is the first Radtel and I am impressed. Spectrum checked for harmonics very clear on both VHF & UHF. Power output within half a watt across two metres and seventy centimetres on 10w setting. Nice clean audio on both bands, Programmed in UKLight commercial channels and consistent output across all vhf and uhf channels. Only letdown is the supplied aerial, to say it’s poor is paying it a complement, should be replaced before usage. Overall excellent product and will buy a second to make a pair. Will certainly try other models in due time.
