A premium product for people who want a high performance network
If you’re looking to buy one of these, you probably already know the unrivalled potential of Unifi hardware to transform your home network. This is where you start - with a Cloud Gateway Ultra. I wont repeat the benefits of Unifi here (it would take too long), but you really wont be disappointed. This thing feels premium straight out of the box. It’s beautifully made and feels solid. It’s also small compared to most ISP routers, so if you’re looking to use it to replace your bulky ISP’s router, this will be an excellent solution. It doesn’t look out of place in a lounge (i.e. it doesn’t look like a horrible piece of IT kit) and you could easily hide it away somewhere if you wanted. Setup is a breeze, too. The display on the front is pretty cool but also tiny, so it’s pretty useless unless you have perfect vision. The Unifi app provides all the stats you need and more anyway. Another minor point, but it ships with some tiny sticky rubber “feet” which you have to peel off and stick on yourself. I’m not sure why Unifi expects its customers to effectively complete the assembly process for them, especially for such a premium product, but this is a minor point. This has 4 PoE ports in the back, but if you want WiFi you will need to buy additional hardware (or use your existing router in AP mode) but again, if you’re looking at Unifi, you probably already know this. Buy this. You wont be disappointed. (Photo shows the gateway sat next to my old outgoing Vodafone router so you can see how discrete it is).

Excellent value - easy to setup and advanced features
This is one of the best home / SME routers I have used - it is easy to setup, has enterprise level features, and offers excellent value. The first thing that struck me about the Cloud Gateway Ultra was its size - it is about 150mm square and 25mm deep. And on the front is a very small screen to display essential information without having to look at the console. It feels and looks like a high quality item, and won't look out of place in a living room (it doesn't like a bit of IT kit ... for one thing all the ports are on the back!) Setup was a breeze (although at this point I must admit to over 20 years experience in this field of work ... ). It really was as simple as plugging it into my Virgin Hub 5 (setup in modem mode) and and switching it on. It took about 5 minutes for it to complete its self setup and get online. Despite the easy setup, this router is not really aimed at a typical home user. If you don't need the advanced features of this router then there are probably better alternatives. However, if you want something that gives you complete control over your network setup - VLANs, port forwarding, DHCP and lots more - then this is worth a look. Management is via a local web interface, cloud console or mobile app. This makes it easy to manage both locally and remotely, and gives excellent visibility of network performance. Integrated with Ubiquiti's own range of wireless access points, this router has everything even the most demanding home user or small office could wish for.

Excellent bit of kit for a home WiFi network
Used to replace this ISP (Gigaclear) hub, which was shockingly bad. Pretty easy to set up and pair with the Unify Access Points. Web based interface works well and the Unify Apps help too. Lots of possibilities to configure your WiFi network - miles more capable than I’ll ever utilise

Annoying setup, but a fine product when done
Got this to replace an old USG-3P, the power brick (and possible USB stick) of which died. I had to change the DHCP IP range, but would otherwise just upload my old config from my self-hosted console, but I had to go through it's graphical nonsense, including coming up with a 12-character (temporary, I vainly hoped) password, skipping speed test, and accepting terms and conditions for a service I had deselected (the UI.com account). Sadly the user credentials for ssh must have changed and I was too lazy to search for them online. I'm not a fan of it forcing me to use the internal controller that's backed by a flimsy 16GB eMMC, I expect it will limit the lifespan of the device significantly (though it shouldn't be worse than the USB key in the USG it replaced), but I guess that's a good thing for Ubiquiti, and probably something I can give up hoping they will change their minds about. Restoring from my old console was a challenge. When you go to your UCG's website, you're presented with two independent UIs: One, represented by a round AP icon, is the controller. The other, represented by a rack mount server icon, being the "device UI" that you generally don't need to do much with. When restoring from the restore menu in the controller UI, there's no feedback that a restore is in progress, but it will work eventually. The 12 character password you picked earlier is still in effect, it doesn't restore the old password, but surprisingly all my devices were adopted quite quickly, even though the inform URL clearly changed. The display showing number of connected clients, etc, is gimmicky and a waste of money, that could appropriately have been used on screw holes to allow wall mounting. All that said, the migration was an hours time with minimum outage and it's nice knowing I now have add'l headroom. When I update my other USG, I should be able to use wireguard between the two sites instead of IPsec (through SD-WAN, site-to-site VPN still only offers IPsec and OpenVPN). I hope, but don't trust, that this router will last the six years that my old USG did.

Superb alternative to BT FTTP homehub as a modem
I bought this to act as a modem and wired router in place of a BT Homehub. This followed years of suffering flakey internet using a variety of mesh wifi systems, the latest of which (Deco 75Pro) has now been demoted to act purely as a wireless access point attached to this gateway. I can't praise it too highly - simple to install, great UI, staggering data and insights down to device level, and up to monitoring ISP performance - and I've likely only scraped the surface of its full capabilities. I struggle to believe what you get for the price; perhaps it's a gateway drug designed by Ubiquiti to get you hooked so that you buy loads of their other kit (in which case it's worked with me).

Outstanding Performance – The Perfect Upgrade for Any UniFi Network
The UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra is an absolute beast for its size. Setup was quick and seamless, and the performance jump compared to older gateways is huge. Routing is incredibly fast, UniFi OS runs smoothly, and remote management is effortless. It handles multiple VLANs, CCTV networks, and high-demand traffic without breaking a sweat. For anyone invested in the UniFi ecosystem—home or business—this is a fantastic upgrade. Small, powerful, silent, and extremely reliable. If you’re upgrading from a legacy Cloud Key, this is a massive step up and absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.

Fantastic cloud gateway router !!!
This is a great device to have at the heart of your Unifi setup, it's superb value for money with endless amounts network tweaking options available. I was previously using a Unifi Express 6 as my network router and the UCG was a massive upgrade. The UX6 is now just a WIFI AP which it is absolutely fine for in use conjunction with the UCG as the router.

Highly efficient and rock-solid for 1Gbps networks.

Powerful Network Management
Really impressive. I’ve been able to manage my home network with so much peace of mind. However, if you’re not a techi, ChatGPT is amazing. Just share screenshots and your ideals and it will guide you.

Grym router utan WiFi WiFi
Superbra, lätt att konfigurera, känns snabb och får bra hastigheter Viktigt att notera att denna är utan WiFi så man behöver AP för WiFi
