My child still enjoyed it, especially the humour and comic-style pages, but they did mention they missed Dog Man being the main character more. It’s still very entertaining, with lots of funny moments and easy-to-follow storytelling, perfect for reluctant readers or younger kids who enjoy graphic novels. Overall: A fun addition to the series, well-made physically, and enjoyable for fans—just be aware it shifts focus away from Dog Man a bit. Would recommend for existing fans of the series.

She loves all the “extra”, fun things sprinkled throughout the book. Wonderful quality. Good price. Beautiful hard cover book. The graphics are great. The words are large enough for easy reading. The story is fun. This book really encourages reading. Perfect gift for a second grader.
