Is this soap from Spain, with the olive oil, before the changes were made to the product? Thank you!

It is manufactured in Macao and does not contain Olive oil. I have used this soap for 45 years and did notice a subtle change in the fragrance recently, thank you for asking your question, it in turn answered mine. I still adore this soap. Cheers

safe for facial washing?

My mother, whom I bought the Maja soap for, has used it for many years. She has used it as any other regular soap without ever complaining of a face rash or any other irritation or ailment. Unless you're allergic to it, I would assume it is safe.

Does talc contain asbestos?

No asbestos, but talcum powder *IS* crushed rock. In the recent past it has been SCIENTIFICALLY AND MEDICALLY determined that liberal "dusting" with talcum powder and breathing it in is linked to multiple types of cancer in both men and women. Google "can talcum powder cause cancer" and it will bring up all sorts of information. I adore Maja soap. Have used it for decades. It just never seemed "logical" to me to cover myself OR my kids with powdered rock from ANY company! Soap and perfume? LOVE THEM! Especially the classics such as Maja.
