I live in an area where we often have power cuts , so I wanted a radio that could switch to battery. This one is proving to be ideal and such great value. It’s small, so easy to tune and the sound is excellent. I recommend it.

excellent radio for price

Excellent Radio, who needs a DAB Radio with this. Great speaker great reception, great for an old git like me, recommended. Easy to use.

Bit of a mixture, this one. FM reception is excellent, with plenty of volume and clear tone. Medium wave is poor, lots of weird background noises. Shortwave does pick up stations, but m.wave breaks through. Depends what you want it for.

It's a decent little radio for the price. I find the tuning a bit finicky and the printed numbers on the radio aren't accurate for where the stations actually are so I'd recommend tuning a vehicle radio or some other radio to your stations and then marking on the radio where they are. I took my radio apart to see if I could change what is shown versus what is tuned in but it's not easy to modify so I put it back together and just marked where the stations are. I only really bought this to have in case of a power outage because it will run on common AA batteries and I wanted a radio that would work to tune into local radio stations should our power go out or there be an emergency or something. I'd give it 5-stars if a bit more quality was put into the radio like making the tuned in stations accurate. Also I found that the AA batteries don't last long so you might want to use Lithium AA batteries or rechargeables. It would be better if this radio took C/D batteries instead for longevity. But I would NOT want a rechargeable lithium-ion because that is no good in an emergency once it dies, you need to be able to use batteries available when there is no power like AA/C/D. Other than that it's a decent little radio and for what I bought it for it will work fine.

I purchased this radio to take with me to work and I got soo many compliments! Lots of loud machines at my workplace and was not disappointed with the volume and clarity.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Love this radio! It's small enough to fit in small areas, has the option of battery or plug in, it's clear sound and easy to find am/fm stations with a large button, the antenna fits in a slot if you don't need it. Great volume level and can be used for emergencies or regular use. Originally got it for my animals for when I'm not home. LOVE IT and it's a great price, great quality.
