Clean, comprehensive, quiet, diminutive and powerful.
Retired programmer here with 50 years dealing with PCs. This review is not for avid gamers, but targets users that want an excellent home computer. After years of setting up ATX (big case) systems for family, friends and coworkers, I can say I've happily transitioned to mini PC's after recommending Beelinks to my brothers and now purchasing my own. The SER8 had the specs that demonstrate a very capable PC with high speed data processing in every area that counts: memory, cpu, gpu, USB, SSD and monitor support. Along with my purchase, I bought a 4TB M.2 SSD drive for the second M.2 slot in the machine. The 1TB M.2 drive that comes with the PC acts as my boot drive and the 4TB acts as a NVR storage location for my home cameras. Installation of the drive was easy after figuring out that the 4 screws on the bottom are hidden underneath little rubber gromets. The only other additional thing to purchase if you have lot of USB devices (camera, BT Headset, etc) is a USB Hub to plug into the rear USB 3.2 port. The USB 3.2 port on the front I use for my keyboard/mouse dongle. The Wi-Fi connectivity is excellent and set as default so that when you turn the PC on for the first time, it connects automatically to your network after you answer a couple setup questions. Win 11 Pro is pre-installed and on intital boot up, it will ask a few set up questions. I switched the Wi-Fi to Ethernet because I'm old school still not fully trusting Wi-Fi reliability. Truthfully, I think those issues have been fully addressed with Wi-Fi 6e which I have...works awesome either way! After installing about 10 apps including office, I can say installations are seamless and all apps work dependably. The machine is faster than my AMD Ryzen 5 ATX machine and it uses 1/4 the power of my old machine. My old machine weighs 25 lbs compared to the Beelink at 3 lbs. I use dual 50" 4k TV's which act as perfect monitors giving me a ton of real-estate and easy reading. Just 10 years ago, people could only dream of such an incredibly powerful PC in such a small super quiet package. I'm thrilled with this purchase.

Great after initial Windows issue
When I first turned it on, it was working fine, but windows updates were failing, so I tried reloading windows. During that process, the install stopped and the PC wasn't responding to anything, just spinning for hrs and hrs. Fortunately my son is a software engineer and he reloaded Windows, which successfully was activated. Now it's great, very fast.

Powerful machine in a small package
This mini PC arrived right before I was leaving on an 8 day roadtrip. Before I left, I setup Windows 11 (Pro) and installed most of the apps I typically use. Then I threw it in the car, along with a small monitor, keyboard and mouse. As we drove from Florida to Ohio, I'd take it into the hotel room and set it up each night. Very easy and quick to get it up and running. My home computer is somewhat faster, but for the size and portability, this machine is pretty amazing. The website ServeTheHome dot Com does a pretty thorough review, their chief complaints being poorly labeled ports and too many screws to access the internals. I can live with that.

SER8 failing after 9 months. / Updated problem understood but not fixed.
Bought this mini PC 9 months ago. Everything seemed ok but this morning I woke up to it having issues staying on without a BSOD. It fails to recover through Win 11 auto recovery and it fails to be improved by clean runs of SFC. Reliability reports in windows indicate hardware failure but I can't decipher them to see more detail. Openning them in a browser also causes the BSOD. So going to try and find a way to offload them and read them. Also contacting Beelink to see if they can help. Working with support has been fairly prompt with an expected 1 day delay in response to emails overseas. The problem is that this vendors firmware/software/bios is not compatible with the latest AMD update software and that software keeps getting applied with Windows Update and/or AMD installed utilities. The vendor is willing to replace the unit but only with an identical one that will also break if any updates hit it. This is my first foray into AMD systems and this is the kind of problem I feared with the #2 architecture but hoped they were not happening any more. It could also be this vendor and their resources to keep up with 2 different CPU platforms. I suppose this could happen with Intel but in many decades I haven't had a problem like this on Intel. So I sit and wait with a machine that I can use for a day if I recover to an old recovery point but just the restart process loads a couple of the destabilizing drivers so I can't use it longer and I have put windows update on a 7 week delay but I can only do that after reboot so the recovery has normal windows update settings and it updates on reboot. So if I get a fix quickly I can definitely apply it. If this goes to long I'll scavenge and trash this box, since replacement in kind just gives me the same problem.

DOA product & customer service
This was a complete dud for me. Continuously crashed and would get stuck in reboot cycles. The company would not send me a replacement unless I returned the defective unit at my own expense first. Would not buy again and would not recommend!

Powerful in small size (110-220V operation)
Excellent!! Although there was no information about the power supply operation in the range of 110-220 V, it actually does which I only found out after talking to Beelink. Great support!!

SEE8 Best Mini PC Summer 2024
Pretty much what the title says. This is pretty much the best mini PC option as of the time of this review. With the option to run this in performance mode and similar performance it isn't worth paying more for an 8945HS based option. This will do roughly the same. This is pretty great for general use as well as modern emulation and light gaming. It's a few steps above a Steam Deck in terms of performance and will run Chimera or Nobaru very well indeed. I'm fact it will run most emulation up through PS3 with relative ease and should do well when PS4 emulators mature as well. Short of a dedicated GPU, this is about as good as it gets today. There will probably be AI 370 options by end of the year, but they will likely be significantly more expensive initially. To reiterate, I cannot recommend the SER8 strongly enough around the $629 price right now. It will probably drop in price a bit in early 2025 or later if you're reading this in the future. The system itself has been stable and Beelink had been the most reputable of the Chinese mini PC brands I've worked with. I've also been pretty happy with MinisForum for completing options. It will also work well for home server usage, though in that use case you may be better served with an N97/N100 or N305 based system for 1/3-1/4 the cost. This is much more powerful and likely overkill.

Junk
Worked for a week and then total lockup. Had to get the operating system reinstalled. Wifi works when it wants and headphone jack not at all. This is a piece of junk.
