WDT Flick Tool

I bought the Subminimal Flick WDT Espresso Distribution Tool to improve puck preparation on my Sage Bambino Plus, and it has proven to be an excellent piece of kit. The biggest advantage is the clever flick mechanism. With a simple press, the needles extend for use and then retract neatly back into the body for storage. This makes it far more practical than many WDT tools where the needles are permanently exposed and easy to bend or damage. Build quality is excellent. The tool feels solid, precise and well engineered, with a premium finish that reflects the Subminimal brand. The needles are thin enough to break up clumps effectively without over-agitating the coffee bed, which helps create a much more even distribution before tamping. In use it is quick and intuitive. A few light passes through the grounds noticeably improves consistency and reduces clumping, resulting in a more even puck and more predictable extraction. For anyone trying to dial in espresso or improve shot consistency, it is a very helpful addition to the workflow. The retractable design also makes it easy to keep on the counter without worrying about damaging the needles, which is something that can be a problem with traditional WDT tools. Overall this is a thoughtfully designed, high-quality distribution tool that makes puck preparation easier and more consistent.

This really is a fantastic WDT... I'm serious about espresso at home and your set up is weak without a good WDT. The Subminimal Flick has a lovely weight to it. The design is just awesome, the button press to release the needles and the flick action to retract them is so cool. The needle depth is brilliant, it can reach to the bottom of the basket with ease and it doesn't flex when breaking up the coffee grounds which is nice as some can feel a bit weak when in use. This isn't just a gadget with a unique selling point in the flick action. This is a great value for money tool that you absolutely need in your home if you're serious about espresso. I'll be recommending this to anyone that asks about my workflow.

This a really good product for any budding home barista. It is really easy to use and is very solid and well built for the price. It is functional and just the right weight without been too heavy/light. It has really improved my puck preparation and my espresso massively! I also really like the little storage/magnet which comes with both adhesive pads and magnets for flexibility. Highly recommend.

The Flick is absolutely brilliant! For sure the best WDT tool I’ve used. The needles are distributed in a way that both breaks down the clumps in the portafilter but also spread the grounds evenly. I love the magnet it comes with too; it’s currently attached to the side of my machine. I’d highly recommend!

It’s worth it. It breaks up and distributes the coffee powder ready for tamping. Makes for a more consisttamp and therefore more consistent coffee .

Game changer. Don’t waste money on one of the cheap (or even expensive) me too WDTs. This thing is clever, compact, and does an amazing job of distribution. It also come with a stand and a magnetic holder. Buy it!!!

Not only is this tool strong and productive, but it’s beyond satisfying and fun to use. The magnetic aspect makes it handy to put it nearby and easy to grab. I’m very happy and would highly recommend this WDT tool for any coffee nerd looking to improve their brewing equipment.

The Subminimal Flick WDT is one of those coffee tools that immediately feels “premium” the moment you pick it up. It comes with replacement needles, a magnetic mount, and a stand up mount so you can display it how you like. I personally love the magnetic mount. The biggest thing with the Flick is clean aesthetics and minimalism on the counter. No clutter, no loose needles sticking out, nothing fiddly. It feels like something designed by people who actually care about espresso workflow. Overall, it’s not a “must-have” but once you use it, it’s hard to go back. It turns a small prep step into something quick, consistent, and a little bit fun.

This is a great coffee tool. I like the opening and closing action of the wires and I like the anti roll bevel, as well as the all metal construction. Top notch.

Der Subminimal Flick WDT hat mich sofort überzeugt. Die Verarbeitung ist hochwertig, das Tool liegt super in der Hand und fühlt sich deutlich wertiger an als viele andere WDT-Tools. Die Nadeln arbeiten präzise, das Auflockern und Verteilen des Kaffeemehls klappt damit mühelos und sehr gleichmäßig. Man merkt einfach, dass hier viel Wert auf Details gelegt wurde – von der Form bis zur Haptik. Für mich gehört der Flick inzwischen fest zur Espresso-Routine und ich möchte ihn nicht mehr missen. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die ihre Shots verbessern wollen!

Prodotto fantastico dal design geniale e minimal nella confezione sono presenti aghi di ricambio una base molto pesante e stabile per tenere in posizione verticale e una basetta magnetica per attaccarsi in qualsiasi posto volete … gli aghi non sono in verticale ma leggermente inclinati verso l’esterno per funzionare meglio …lo adoro Prezzo un po sopra la media ma ragionevole rispetto hai materiali utilizzati e il design Molto consigliato
