Zowietek ZowieBox 3G SDI NDI Video Encoder/Decoder, SDI NDI

I’ve been using 3 of these on a US 3 Camera Network drama at video village side, to show the A, B, and C Camera feeds to HMU / Vanities on their phones. The boxes have all worked great so far; the build quality is solid, they’re relatively easy to configure, and the admin page is intuitive. I have the fans on “performance” mode as they live in a rack and get pretty hot fast, but they are usually around 90-100 degrees which isn’t too bad. The biggest change I would love to see from ZowieTek, is that often when your input source changes (say, 1080p 23.98 to 720p 59.94), 3 out of 5 times, the box fails to pick up the newly changed signal. This also happens when we repatch our Panel Antennas when we move the village, or if an AC flicks their TX off temporarily. I would love to see some kind of update that looks for a new signal more frequently, but at the moment, it requires recycling the power to get it to catch the new signal, which is pretty inconvenient and not great for the up-time of the feeds for people who need to watch at all times. Otherwise, I’d give the ZowieBox 5 stars!

While inexpensive, the hardware reliably is mediocore. I've replaced about 3 of these in the past year. Support is also hard to get a hold of and worth with. When the devices work, they work well, but have a spare on hand. They also get very hot when running.

I have my SDI output from my Sony PXW-Z90V camera going into this device and into my managed switch and it failed completely

I kept dropping the internet and could not keep the stream—no one was there to help. I kept it no longer in use.

Farbraum BT.601 und nicht wie in Europa üblich BT 709 daher können wir das Gerät nicht verwenden sonst funktioniert alles OK aber das hätte ich gerne vorher gewusst

Fantastic product! Great price for she does and I recommended to make the update to the latest version available in the website. I’m using as an hardware encoder only and she’s perfect on what she does! For a livestreamer, a YouTuber or a small business in production, she’s perfect.. I’m planning to acquire also the hdmi version for backup. Highly recommended product!
