Great Price to performance ratio
Runs cooler than the 5950X and only 100mhz slower single threaded. Pulls ahead in multi threaded apps as it doesn’t thermal throttle as quickly adding longevity to the old AM4 socket. Great for autocad and cpu intensive applications while gaming performance is still great but depending on the game disabling the second CCD might help with latency. With the current DDR5 pricing this processor while help keep your DDR4 system kicking for a few more years.

Great for Sub-$300 in 2025. No issues. Runs at good temps under load.
Great for the price. The multitask is good and efficient. For AM4, this is pretty much like the 5950X, so basically the top of the line, if you will. Pretty sure it will last another good 5 years before it starts to fall off to newer tech and software upgrades. Good for gaming. Pair with a decent GPU and you have a mid-high tier gaming PC/Workstation. Runs at 70 Deg C under load with AIO. That's very good in my book.

Overall solid, get an AIO LC
Very good card if you pair it with a good GPU, definitely get a AIO Liquid cooler cuz this gets very hot, very much entry level hotty, I have not personally overlocked it but with the right cooling I’m sure it can get good numbers, boot times are good but depends on your bio settings, stable card, games that are cpu heavy are very much welcomed here. Overall a good investment for a relative cheap price if you get it around Black Friday.

GREAT PURCHASE FOR THE PRICE !
This is an excellent product that matches the expectations I had for it. It's great for multitasking specifically and if you're going to be using OBS and playing video games at the same time, amongst other multi core processes.

This is a wolf in sheeps clothing!
If you are a fan of the AM4 socket and you love power and performance at a killer price, then this is your chip. So many people complain about the heat, but it's very manageable. If you are a content creator, then this is your reliable workhorse.

Older, but Still Powerful
I have started playing with some machine learning tasks and locally hosted AI. My "main" computer had a Ryzen 5 5600x (6 cores, 12 threads). In today's environment, building a whole new machine with DDR5 RAM is pretty expensive, so I decided to do what I could with my existing AM4/DDR4 system. My MSI motherboard showed compatibility with the Ryzen 9 5900XT, so I updated to the latest BIOS and gave it a try. I was really looking for a 5900 or 5900x, but I didn't find either for a reasonable price. Since the 5900XT is a 105 Watt processor, rather than 65 Watts, I also got a bigger cooler. The upgrade went without a hitch. The new processor was immediately recognized and booted the first time. The big cooler makes getting to 2 of my RAM slots a little tight, but manageable. I ran a transcoding test on some 1080P video. It was much faster than my previous 5600x, but still didn't compare to using the Nvidia 2070 super video card. Still, if you don't mind the time and want a higher quality transcode, every bit of CPU power helps. Right now, I am doing my first scan of my Photo library on my NAS with Immich running on the NAS. I have a second instance of Immich running on the PC for just the Machine Learning component. So far everything is running very smoothly and I'm not noticing any slow down to other activities (like writing this review).

Impressed!!
It's far superior to the Ryzen 5 5600x I had before. The difference in workflow for 3D modeling and rendering is abysmal, and gaming is even better. You can cool it with a Thermalright Frost Tower 120 CPU air cooler. There's no need to buy the most expensive cooler they recommend; it maintains a stable 70°C under maximum load. I recommend the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet (38x38x0.2mm) – a graphene thermal pad that's easy and clean to install.

Upgraded from a 5600x
This thing is a monster! Coming from a OC 5600x, this is definitely a sidegrade rather than upgrade. More cores = more heat. I was cooling with a Deepcool ak620, and this runs much hotter. Base clock speeds are slightly lower, but overall performance is off the charts. I use my PC for more than gaming, so this was a logical choice rather than frame chasing.

Amazing Processor
Placed order, item came a week earlier then expected and installed with a Noctua D12l and got running the day of delivery. I upgraded from a 3600 so the difference is insane. Render times are about halved and it is definitely something to see all 16 cores put to use. If you are trying to extend the life of an AM4 platform or holding out for AM6, I would definitely recommend upgrading to this chip which will still be a beast for another few years. 9950x 50% faster on average in multicore workloads but factor in the cost of ram and mobo upgrades and I would argue it’s not worth it.

Best price performance for AM4 mothboard, almost no different with my other 5950x PC!
Got it on as a deal, upgrade to my 4750G. This is a business workload CPU with 16 core/ 32 threads. Best for demand programs like video and graphic editing. Very robust on heavy work load. If you are like me have 100+ open tabs on browsers. This CPU is for you. I paired with a twin tower air cooler, I bought from Amazon, even it is a high end CPU. It's Max. temperature is around 70deg, as cool as Joe Cool. But you can always get a AIO water cooler to keep it cooler. Compare to my other 5950x, it is may be 3-5% slower, but won't feel it unless you are running some benchmark software. Get this if you have a weaker CPU on AM4 as an upgrade. Get it if you would like a new build on AM4. 5 out 5, both on price and performance.
