This temperature sensor worked exactly as I needed it to. It allowed me to mount my Nest thermostat in the basement while using the sensor to measure the temperature in the area that actually matters. This made my HVAC retrofit much easier because I no longer had to place the thermostat in an inconvenient location just to get an accurate temperature reading. The sensor paired easily and has been reliable. Being able to have the thermostat respond to the temperature from a different room gives much better control over my heating zones than relying solely on the thermostat's built-in sensor. The app also offers additional scheduling and sensor-selection features that appear to be useful, although I haven't had the opportunity to fully test those yet. Based on my experience so far, the sensor has done exactly what I needed and I'd recommend it to anyone who needs more flexibility in where their thermostat is installed.

We live in an apartment with a google nest thermostat and for years one room has been either too hot or too cold while the thermostat showed a decent temperature. Now the one management installed cannot be used to average out the temp once the sensors are installed, but we can get the thermostat to adjust the temperature according to one of the sensors. Since setting it up in the app, which is quite simple, we've managed to make that room comfortable for once. Now we have the opposite problem in another room, but that's an issue for another day and not googles fault.

very nice looking and useful, you can control the heater/AC based on your bedroom or office temperature. I use one of them in my baby's room to monitor the temperature there. unfortunately it cannot capture the historical temperature other temperature sensor were capable of.

It is compatible with nest thermostats (gen 3, 4 and E) it’s sleek design makes it blend in where ever you place it. These sensors connect to your thermostats by Bluetooth and install in minutes. With how much you will save on electricity cooling or heating your home these are a great value.

The three step setup in the manual make it seem like it will be a swift and easy installation. It is anything but simple. Firstly, you need to install two apps. Nest Home and Google Home. You need to connect the devices by navigating through various menus in the Nest Thermostat. Then you enter the code from the menu on the Nest App. If the thermostat says it is already connected to a device, you MUST do a factory reset. And then you need to scan the barcode in the back of the Nest Sensor (not shown in manual by the way). And then you need to select the sensor from the Nest device or the App. If you are looking for a fast, simple way to install this, don't count on it. The temperature reading updating is not live. It updates temperature every couple of minutes.

My main thermostat sits in the central hallway, which is usually the coolest spot in the house. Overnight, while the hallway dropped down to 70° and the Master Bedroom sat at a comfortable 71°, other rooms were sitting anywhere from 67° in the Office to 72° in the Lounge, Study, and Guest Room. That temperature swing across one floor is exactly why I picked these up. Pairing them in the app took a couple of minutes, and now I can assign active control to whichever room actually needs it based on the time of day. Instead of letting the thermostat blindly react to hallway air, I can set it to prioritize the bedrooms at night or key living areas during the day. They’re tiny, sit out of the way on a shelf or wall, and run forever on a coin cell battery. If your single-story home has a thermostat reading that doesn't match the rest of your rooms, these make a massive difference.

Really great add on for my Google Nest thermostat - the issue many homes have is that the location of the thermostat is central in a home but not where sleeping happens. In our upper floor where the bedrooms are, in summer they are hotter than the rest of the house. This portable thermostat in the upper level helps set the house temp according to the upper level for comfortable sleeping.

Be warned. I failed to do my research properly and it was only after failing to be able to connect this to my Nest did I then realise that these little gadgets are not compatible with the UK versions of Nest thermostats. My sensor was shipped from the US so that probably should have prompted me to read up more before purchase.

Was a bit concerned as to whether this was compatible with our 7 year old Nest, but works well. Easy to set up in the Nest App. Have it in our family room which is cooler in the evening so when we are in it, I have it scheduled to automatically use sensor in Family Room and rest of time use the thermostat. Can also over ride during anytime. Excellent addition for anyone who needs different temps in parts of the house

No, despite description claims it's compatible with the third generation learning thermostat it doesn't work due to software version issues, but there is no new software version available. Now need to go and investigate with Google Nest help. Painful.
