Must have as handbook for VA/PT
Not only covered webapp testing but also network security, misconfigurations .Recommended for beginners as well as intermediates . What i really like is step by step depth explanation with screenshot unlike other books. The last part of the book under "Server hacking" cover root exploits , bypasses, symlink, whmcs,.htaccess which i can guarantee you can't find in any book or clear picture in any web references. Rafay baloch always inspired me to get into websecurity, i read all of his blog post also. Although i am very bad in academic education ,i have now good job as compared to my colleagues.

Great book to learn hacking, Rafay has done a superb job !
First of all, my hearty congratulations to Rafay for this book. This book covers most parts of computer security. Rafay has given great insights to different hacking methodologies and tricks, that are used by hackers to penetrate a system. In this book, he talks about web security, network security and a bit of exploit development. He starts from very basics, moves gradually towards Backtrack and its accompanying tools - Metasploit, Nessus et. all. This book thoroughly covers everything, still keeping the reader's enthusiasm. I'm particularly fond of his web hacking topics, in one of those he shows how to execute arbitrary code when PHP's safe_mode is enabled. Being a good friend of mine combined with the efforts he has put in this book, I'm biased to rate this book a five star. But I'd definitely appreciate Rafay, if he adds a few advanced exploit development topics and RoR in web hacking later in this book, as a revision.

Useless crap. Not possible to get back track 5. Kali Linux changes from Back Track 5. You can not work on kali by reading this book.

Infosec? Hacking? CEH? Information Security? Buy this book now!
Bets book on ethical hacking available, hands down. Buy this book if you are in infosec/ethical hacking/information security! Pricey and worth every penny! I have been in Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking for several years and yet this book gave me an entirely new perspective and insight into area's I'd not considered. Mr. Baloch presents things in a straight forward manner, well explained and with unique perspectives on many areas of white hat hacking in relation to information security. It is my pleasure to recommend his book and blog for those wishing to acheive an insight and gain valuable knowledge into Ethical Hacking and Information Security in general. jim
