Inexpensive but very capable and functional universal multi-device remote.
Replacing a very old and dated Logitech Harmony remote I wanted something simple setup but still able to handle multiple devices as needed. Stumbled upon this in some forum recommendations and rolled the dice for a $50 controller I was skeptical. It has a simple backlit LCD screen you use a roller wheel to interact with, this selects you various added devices. The overall feel of the controller is sturdy and not cheap in anyway, with batteries it has a decent heft and shaped on the back to sit well in the hand of any user a very agronomical design. The buttons are a firm rubber and feel clicky without being mushy they will hopefully hold up well as the previous remote had peeling/fading keys so you could not ID them by sight anymore. Setup is easy and quick by downloading an app to your phone and pairing the remote via Bluetooth to setup the devices connecting was fast and simple. Most common brands are listed and setup is practically a few clicks, if not you can "learn" buttons from the controller so long as they are transmitted via IR to the device you are using, AppleTV has a button you need for app suspension it is not transmitted via IR so you cannot program this to the remote is why I point this out. I believe I have the general setup going in under 20 minutes, though after you have your devices added you can re-assign and change buttons for everything you need to do with them as well as setup Macros for complex operations like switching devices, turning all devices on, etc. Highly recommend setting up your primary viewing device with the options needed to control all the devices on that setting. For example we watch most content through the AppleTV so our macro is the power button that activates all the devices (TV, Sound bar, etc) then sets AppleTV to home and places the controller on the AppleTV device control. The button setup for the AppleTV is set so Volume controls are for the Sound Bar and various other inputs for TV functions. This way you're "watching TV" but all your functions are set to do so properly. Another catch was when setting a macro to power off the devices some devices may not go off, merely go to the macro and add a few extra 'power off' options set to 0.0 for that device and it will then turn off, apparently some devices require a longer power off signal than others. We've had the controller for about 3 months and so far everyone has had no major issues adjusting or complaints on function. Super happy and would consider other models from this brand in the future for sure!

Game Changer!
I was able to consolidate 5 remotes into one!!! I did have to jump through a few hoops to get this set up but well worth it. It only supports IR Roku devices and does not support voice search. So, I had to buy a new Roku device. Even though the new Roku device was in the library, the preprogrammed buttons didn't work and I had to go through the manual learning setup process, not a big deal because it is super easy to do. My projector requires a 2-step process to turn off so I also needed to program a macro, which is also super easy to do. However, the macro runs a bit slower than desirable so I have to hold the remote pointed up for a few seconds after pressing the button. I love that the display shows you the name (which you program) of the device it is set to. Other all in ones, you have to remember which device you selected of the prenamed or color coded buttons. The display and scroll wheel on this device is a much better design. I only wish the buttons were backlit or luminescent. Because I use a projector, the room is too dark to see the buttons. But at least I can see the display. Overall, I'm very pleased with this device and recommend it to anyone frustrated with the hassle of having several remotes.

This is overall NOT A VERY GOOD DEVICE!!!!
6/13/26 I just spent another VERY frustrating time trying to use this thing to watch a Blu-Ray disc. OMG. Yes, it does what you tell it. But how good is your memory? Will you remember that you programmed "-" or "e" to be "Subtitles"? Or that the home button will go to Main menu, leaving the disc but the 3 lines are "Top Menu" to get to disc menu? Or that "0" is "Open the disc drive"? Can you begin to see what I mean by "not enough buttons!!!"??? Edited 4/2026: SofaBaton reached out and offered a refund. I said yes. They countered with some questions about my issues, and then never replied further. I again asked about the refund they offered and they are not replying. So, THEY LIED TO ME. Original review: Wow. NOT a great answer tor eplacing a Logitech 650, which is a smart remote. This thing never claims to be smart, and they are correct. I have two BIG issues with it: First, and almost fatal, it DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH BUTTONS! Yeah, they cover the generic sort of play/pause/forward/rewind and volume stuff. Beyond that, there are only 3 icon labeled buttons at the top (3 lines, home and Info?) and the 4 color coded buttons at the bottom. On most any device I have, that doesn't work out well, and if you look at your original remotes, you will see why! I cannot possibly cover the functions I want with any sort of logic...I am supposed to remember I needed to program "Star" on my Roku remote as "Blue" on this? And if you use an A/V receiver, with all of it's functions, then you are just plain screwed!!!! Second, it does not have much of any "database" of devices, so you are pretty much going to have to have it "learn" every single button on every single one of your remotes!! Hell, this is their business; shouldn't *they* be helping with that? Lastly, the macros thing doesn't help much, if at all. Since it is not "state aware", it doesn't know that you are already watching on Roku, so if you program a button to "Turn on the TV and switch to DVD", it will send the power toggle instruction to the already "on" TV and turn it off, not on! Then, the LITTLE BUT ANNOYING THINGS: 1. It does not transmit IR signals if you have it sitting still and press a button. You need to pick it up to turn it on. Or hit a button to wake it and then hit the button again. So you can;t use it laying on the couch or furniture arm next to you. 2. Anytime you hit the TV on function, it sets the device to whatever the top listed device is. So turning your system back on does not put it back where it was when you turned it off. 3, Buttons are NOT intuiitively placed and lack the tactile shapes to easily identify without looking at the remote. If you have a very simple setup, this is maybe a good one remote solution. But it is lightyears away from the intelligence and adaptability of the Logitech remotes that sadly have been discontinued!

Slow response, have to press buttons multiple times
I've had this remote for 5 months now and it's a live hate relationship. I like how easy it is to set up, and controls everything that I want to control. I hate however that I have to press a button 2-3 times before it functions when the remote has been setting for a while.

Some simplicity for my life!
The setup procedure was a little clumsy to try and find exactly the right device to program, and I’m glad I didn’t need the custom sequencing because that seemed even more difficult to employ. But the bottom line is that I didn’t need any of that complexity because the ability to program custom buttons onto the remote for a particular device AFTER the remote for that device was already coded into the SofaBaton turned out to be a game changer. So easy to set it up that way and so easy to use every day. I thought they’d have to pry my old Harmony out of my cold dead hands, but when too many of its buttons were failing, SofaBaton came to the rescue and I like it even better than the harmony.

Great controller if you are patient.
OK this is not as easy to program as a Harmony but, if you are willing to take your time and use Customer Service if you have a problem, the effort is worth it. I had a problem with switching channels on DIRECTV Stream but, with a chat with CS, I was told to switch DIRECTV Stream box nomenclature from C71KW-400 to HR55-400. Perfect solution. Like I said be patient and be prepared to redo changing button control and the result is worth it.

Very nice for streaming
New Update: 1/20/2025 They are now sending me my THIRD remote. Their remotes no longer work with Roku. Today all my devices did not respond to their remote. Do not waste your money on this. UPDATE: They sent me a new remote with a personal tech person. I was able to get it to work as I wanted with his help. He gave me codes to fix the buttons being too sensitive. I got codes so now my Logitech works with my Home Theater so I did not try to set up macros. My advice is that if you need a remote that performs on multiple devices, this unit will fill your needs. They have excellent tech support that will fix your issue. I had read all positive reviews. Then a few days ago and I saw a tech article giving this item bad reviews. I had already ordered the remote. I dismissed the Tech review, some of them are too critical. A few years ago, I saw a critical review of a Garmin GPS because it was too thin. I guess they had to write something negative. I was hoping from what I read here that this remote would replace my Logitech which did not work with my new dumb as a rock smart TV. I soooo miss my Logitech. Logitech, PLEASE get back in the remote business. This remote did not have codes for Onkyo receivers, one of the best selling brands in the USA. The buttons are way toooooooooo sensitive. Everytime I pushed a number button, it repeated it. I have a home theater which is why I need the remote. I needed it to switch HDMI connections and inputs. This remote does not do that. There aren't any instructions on how to set up a "routine". My Logitech remote, I tapped "Watch TV" or Watch DVD' and it would turn on all the devices and switch to the appropriate inputs and ports. This does not do that. It has a clunky wheel you scroll for each function. If you have cable or satellite as your provider, there isn't a dedicated "Guide" or "DVR" button. This functions the same as any $10.00 remote. If you just have streaming services, this is just a fancy remote. This remote is absolutely worthless if you have a home theater.

Works well, though not as well as Logitech remotes
I bought the SofaBaton to replace my Logitech Harmony remote that needed a new battery pack. The SofaBaton pretty much does what the Logitech does, but is somewhat harder to set up the macros. Also, once the macros were installed they don't quite work as smoothly as the Harmony. The other thing it doesn't have that the Harmony does is illuminated keys which makes it hard to find the buttons in low or no light situations. Unfortunately, Logitech stopped making programmable remotes several years ago, so as far as I can see this is the best product available for the price right now. I'm pretty happy with my purchase, but still wish Logitech Harmony's were still were around.
