Bed Exit Motion Sensor and Pager

This is a great device. I bought it for my 99 year old mother so we know when she gets out of bed and can go and help her. It works very well and are really pleased with it, but the only thing that would make it perfect is if the pager alarm had a volume control. It is very loud, which might be good for some people or in certain circumstances, but for us it was far too loud. I was going to return it, but I had second thoughts as it is a great wee pager, nice and small so can be carried around very easily. We got around the problem of the loud alarm by either putting it under our pillow at night when we're sleeping, or under a thick cushion during the day. This makes the alarm just the right volume - you can hear it clearly but it's not too loud. It has two choices for the alarm, and my advice is to use the simple ding dong. The other choice is the tune to William Tell, which again is too loud and goes on a long time, but this may be good for some people if they need to make sure they don't miss the alarm.The bottom line is, yes this works very well, and is not too pricey.

Very sensitive, works very reliably to detect any movement if my elderly mum attempts to get out of bed.As mentioned by many others, it would be really helpful if it had a volume control!!! - the ideal for my purpose, and most other reviewers, is for me to hear the alert but my mother not to be aware of my monitoring. Fortunately my mother is quite deaf - but could be quite confusing or worrying for elderly or dementia patients. One other small point - the switch which switches between OFF and choice of two alarm tones, is very minute and in my haste to switch OFF the “door bell” signal when the alarm sounds, I can end up inadvertently setting off the “William Tell” signal which won’t stop till it has finished!!!! - annoying in the middle of the night. Otherwise, brilliant!

Excellent product with good range and loud enough ,you can’t miss it.

We used this for my mother, who has Alzheimer’s, and it’s been a game changer. When she gets out of bed and puts her foot down we know and can assist her. It’s loud and wakes me, which is what I want. Definitely one for peace of mind. It’s simple to use, just position on the floor and test where the beam points (it covers a large arc).

This was the answer to our monitoring problems, for a very elderly patient at home, who was confused enough to try and get out of bed, who could not cope with cot sides which gave them claustrophobia, and was a danger to themselves through lack of stability when attempting to stand up in a confused state. The under mattress sensor we had worked well until a ripple/air mattress was required to prevent bedsores, so we needed an alternative to provide an alarm for when the patient tried to get out of bed - night and day. This sensor worked brilliantly. We needed to rig up a cradle to sit it in with duck tape on a pole at the end of the bed focussing from the middle of the room towards the patient/edge of the bed, in order to position it exactly where we needed it - and we turned it sideways to narrow the beam so that carers could be in the room without setting it off. After those adjustments which were specific to our requirements it could not have done a more excellent job. We did site it for a while, using the hinged stand attached to it, perched on the bed post, but as the patient became colder, the height of the bedding increased and the bed post was not high enough, so a pole was necessary. In spite of all that, it was discreet enough for the patient not to be aware of it, which they were of some other alarms - they never understood how someone appeared so quickly, as a result of this monitor. It could have been placed on the wall above the patient's bed facing into the room, but this would have meant the alarm being triggered every time a carer came into the room, which we wanted to avoid. Locating the beam does need some careful thought. It was reassuring to know that it would be triggered by the patient's movements only, and we preferred a few false alarms (eg arms waving when patient was hallucinating) than worrying about the patient when not in the room: before I discovered this product on Amazon we had someone in the room supervising the patient at all times, which became unsustainable. As a result of this alarm we had peace of mind, reassurance, and optimum care for the patient and more freedom for the carers to do other tasks . Battery life was good and they were easy to replace.I thoroughly recommend this product for the use I have described. All the professional carers as well as family agreed it was outstanding. My only suggestion would be to supply - or provide the option of - an additional, mobile or plug-in receiver which we had with the other monitoring products we used, and we found having two receivers helpful - admittedly not essential, but a bonus. The mobile receiver worked well through the thick stone walls of the house, which was not always the case with some other receivers.It occurs to me it would also be a useful product to align on the edge of a cot for when toddlers start trying to climb out. A minor point: I have a good sense of humour but your headline (No Alarm In Room With Sensor or Patient!) is confusing to prospective purchasers, who will not necessarily get the pun.

This product we purchased was for our disabled daughter that has epilepsy.We tried other products that was unsuccessful for us to monitor our daughters movements throughout the day and night.This product is a life saver for us as looking after her is very tiring and especially during the night when she gets out of bed the alarm which basically sounds like a door bell is a god send to us knowing that she is up and about.We would like to highly recommend this product to other parents or carers who are in the same position of looking after someone 24/7 .We are extremely happy we decided to pay the extra for the cordless version.It is so useful as it is portable and can be used to monitor her movements in any room of our bungalow.

Really cannot praise this motion sensor and pager enough. Instead of being semi awake all night waiting for sounds of my partner trying to get out of bed I can allow myself to fall asleep knowing I will be woken by the alarm. It is extremely loud and you couldn’t possibly sleep through it. Once my partner is in bed I can stay up and watch TV etc without checking every five minutes that he is still in bed. He does get extremely restless at night and I am so, so pleased I found this. It’s simplicity itself to set up. No pairing of pager and sensor required. Simply take it out of its box and go. I’d give it more stars if I could.

This arrived quickly enough and the range of signal in mother-in-law's large house is very good. It can be moved about from bedroom to sitting room very easily so, that her carer can easily know when she is trying to get around and come to her assistance. The reason for the 3 stars is that there are only two equally annoying alert sounds and no volume control and both are incredibly and I would say unnecessarily loud. To make it more user friendly, we have resorted to muffling the little speaker area with wads of tissue paper, it helps a bit but is obviously not ideal. Of the various carers on the 24/7 rota more don't use it, than do.

Très bon appareil. Fidèle à ce que j'attendais et fiable. Consomme peu d'énergie. Pas de changement de piles depuis plus de 6 mois. Vraiment pratique pour les personnes qui ont des parents âgés et malades à charge. Très facile et simple d'utilisation
