A great game. The 2K series continues to impress and be leaps and bounds ahead of EA sports in terms of gameplay, graphics, and everything in between. The gamplay is smooth, and while I'm not big on the MyPlayer modes and all that, I am an old school gamer who prefers a very in-depth and rich Franchise mode. The Franchise mode does not disappoint, with both full season and franchise modes that you can completely customize. The graphics are insane. My fiance' will routinely walk by and think she is watching a real basketball game. The leap in graphics between the first version on next gen systems and this second iteration is amazing, it leaves me excited for the possibilities moving forward. There are some little buggy things here and there. For example, when a player goes into a "runner" or "floater" shot animation, they hit the shot about 98% of the time. Also, even though a wise man once said basketball is a game of runs, it can sometimes be impossible for your team to hit a shot, or the other team to miss a shot, when they go on a run. Utilizing timeouts properly can sometimes help to end a run, but it can get frustrating at times. These are little things, but they do not take away from the experience enough to warrant a lower rating.

It's not like you're going to spend money on NBA live
My 5-star review is based off two things. 1) It only cost me $10 thanks to the 2k promotion with john wall and james harden. 2) I didn't buy it at launch so I didn't experience any of the network issues that seemed to plague everyone and lead to initially poor reviews. Pros: Good graphics, high production values, and fun. Cons: Cheesy "story" for MyPlayer mode, voice acting is beyond awful. Just go youtube nba2k15 all cutscenes. Your guy will sound like that regardless what you do, it's comical. Controls are wonky at times, players feel like they're on skates, way too many locked animations. Classic 2k camera seems broken and makes it hard/impossible to consistently run a fast break. And lastly, micro-transactions. Want to destroy all goodwill created with the community that plays your game? Add microtransctions. There's a reason EVERY mobile game is awful. You don't need to spend a dime to get started though, and my copy game with a code for 10k of the ingame currency for free. It's hard to really trust that companies don't lower the regular rewards of progression though to entice people to buy virtual currency. And I don't really care what their official response to that is.

2K Sports DOES IT AGAIN! NBA 2K15 is my favorite of ALL TIME (until next year of course)
This is the best basketball video game on the planet right now. It's got everything you want - NBA Franchise Mode, NBA Season, Online Tournaments, Blacktops. Ever since I got this game (on Amazon for such a great deal), I've been spending most of my weeknights getting lost in this virtual reality of the NBA. It's got me HOOKED. The gameplay is very high functional, the graphics are impressive, and the user interface has improved drastically since 2K14. One qualm I have about this game is that it doesn't offer custom draft order in fantasy drafts of Franchise Mode. I really find it inefficient to keep starting a franchise over, having it autosave, then having me (as the user) delete the save so that I can start it again hoping to get a top 5 pick. Hopefully this is a feature they'll add back to the product in 2K16. There's alot of update bugs I've been experiencing, having me to always go back to Main Menu even though I already have gone there a few times.

New Features, Still Great
This year's edition has some new features and changes jump shooting a little. I'd gotten used to the old way of shooting, but this is better. Gone are the old days of figuring out each players' release. Now there's a little bar beneath the player's feet that you kind of have to time. I'm not sure if it's better or not, but it definitely takes some getting used to. Last year, you couldn't even play if the servers were down because everything tied into their "coin" system, which needed an online connection. This year, that isn't the case. It's a good thing too because the servers were down for about 4-5 days and I still can't access "MyTeam". I'm sure they'll correct this, but the game did seem rushed. Since that was down, I tried MyGM and MyPlayer. Both have been fun. MyGM has you running a team and interacting with the owner, players and the media from time to time. One warning, don't always give into players requests. Breaking a promise is worse than just telling him no from the beginning. MyPlayer is simplified this year. You don't really build each skill level separately. Instead, you build a category of skills together. You automatically get badges too based on your actions. I think I like it better. I liked the rivalry angle last year, but that's gone.now. Instead, you get to play the "nobody believes in me" scenario, working your way into the NBA as an undrafted free agent. Graphics are incredible, but I hear that you can get some weird faces if you scan your face. I don't have a PS4 camera, so I can't do that. The courts look great and faces look more realistic except some guys must have paid off the designers, such as Pao Gasol. He looks way better in the game than real life. I guess you can't capture a wispy beard in a video game very easily. Bottom line is that I think all of the new features make it worthwhile to upgrade and buy into this year's edition.

If you appreciate baketball you will enjoy this game
If you appreciate baketball you will enjoy this game, It has simple and easy controls, it is easily better than the previous games such as 2k14 and 13. It still needs work though, for example althoght the park has come a long way since it was released last year, but it still is a bit laggy which can't seemed to be helped. The lag isn't bad to the point where it affects your game, but you can tell there is still lag. Overall 2k15 is a solid game but at this point in the year, it would probably be wiser to wait for 2k16 which should be released within the next couple of months.

NBA 2K15 is an unfinished game with many issues that ruin it entirely.
I'll start this review off by saying that this game felt pretty good at first. However, as time went on, this game started to increasingly annoy me with it's gameplay issues, exploits, and broken game modes. Pros: Graphics: It's a beautiful looking game, and the players look great. Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul's faces have finally been scanned correctly or scanned at least and their faces in the game look much better than last year's disfigured versions of them. MyLeague: It is a great new game mode and it is very innovative and creative of 2K to add this. I really enjoyed playing this game mode, and I like the fact that you could control all 30 teams at once and add Euroleague teams into the NBA. MyGM: I really like this game mode, and every year, I go with the New York Knicks to be the GM of since they are my team because I'm a New Yorker. I just don't like how sometimes ridiculous trades could happen in this game mode like Lebron James getting traded from the Cavs for Kevin Durant. OKC and Cleveland are not two teams that would be willing to give up one of their franchise superstars. MyCareer: I like the new attribute system and that's about it. Cons: Gameplay Issues: Where to start with the gameplay issues. Well first, I do not like the new shot meter systeam and even when I get it right on the line, It misses. I have missed wide open three pointers with the shot meter on the line with my player that has a 95 rated three point rating but I see that Shabazz Napier is knocking down every single three pointer he takes for the opposing team. And he isn't even open when he takes those three pointers, they are well contested but they still find a way to go in. Next, the post fadeaway is very overpowered in this game because in NBA 2K15, apparently every center in the NBA can knock down a post fadeaway. I don't think that I have ever seen Andre Drummond swish a long, contested, post fadeaway in real life, it has only happened to me in NBA 2K15. Third of all, centers and power forwards get way too many steals off of pick and rolls in this game. My player runs a simple pick and roll with Dwight Howard, who joined my team in free agency, and I try to pass the ball to him, and John Henson steals the pass, and by the end of the game he has 5 steals, all of them either from a pick and roll, or from me trying to pass it to a cutter on a fast break. It gets very frustrating. Another problem with the game is that some A.I. players just play like superhumans at times. My team is on a fast break, and I try to throw a risky pass to Iman Shumpert and it gets tipped by Jabari Parker, like expected. From his steal attempt, he is now about 5-10 feet away from Shumpert, and I am now open and Iman Shumpert passes it to me as my player is right next to him. Iman Shumpert throws a close rane pass and Jabari Parker is still a bit far from the play, but he magically goes 75 miles an hour to steal the pass. That is another frustrating issue. I play on Hall of Fame, Simulation for anybody that's wondering. I am a basketball sim fan. In that same game against the Milwaukee Bucks, we were down by 6 by the end of the third quarter. My player plays for the Knicks, and he is in his 4th season. Dwight Howard joined team, but Carmelo Anthony is out with an injury for this game. SO back to the start of the fourth quarter, we were making a pretty big comeback because we were down by 16 at half time because only my player and Dwight Howard showed up to play in the first half. By the fourth quarter, we are feeling pretty confident about our chances to win and we have the momentum. But then, all of a sudden, Brandon Knight, who didn't make a single shot this game yet, makes 4 straight wide open three pointers. I was guarding Gerald Henderson, who the Bucks traded for in my career. My teammates just left Brandon Knight wide open for four straight possessions. It was an 18 point game by that time, as my teammates couldn't do anything on offense and Dwight Howard fouled out. Our comeback hopes were squashed. I don't I really see that too much in the real NBA, and especially from a player that had been locked down for 3 straight quarters and from a team that had absolutely no momentum leading up to that whatsoever. Hall of Fame cheese is real. Also, since one of the patches that tweaked the shooting, my player with a 95 three point rating, went from a 43% three point shooter to a 31% three point shooter, and my jumpshot, timing, and shot meter releases stayed the same. Of course, there are the times when you accidently mess up on the shot meter, but that shouldn't have really hurt my release that much. Zig-zag cheese is also very irritating. Lighting: Lighting just isn't as good this year as it was last year, and NBA Live 15 beat them in that department this year. Hopefully next year, they could improve on it. MyCareer storyline: The MyCareer storyline this year is very unrealistic because I don't think that there has ever been an undrafted player that has gone on to win Finals MVPs, MVPs, and get All-NBA First Teams in just their first four seasons or even in their careers. Of course, Ben Wallace, John Starks, Darrell Armstrong, Raja Bell, Avery Johnson, David Wesley, Bruce Bowen are some of the best undrafted players of all time and some of them ended up being great players that would never be forgotten, like Wallace, Starks, Johnson, and Bowen. Raja Bell at his best was a great defender and a versatile offensive weapon as well. Look at what Jeremy Lin did too, he started Linsanity in New York, and turned out to be a decent point guard for Houston and now he's playing for Charlotte. In MyCareer, you and your agent are just hungry for money and endorsements. They even call them "sharks". Like "where's my shark tank?" and "SHARKS! SHARKS!" after signing a major endorsement deal with a shoe company. My player also has to remind him that he's not his friend, he's his agent. I don't really like that, I miss the old 2K14 agent who would really be my players friend, not just his agent and money was not all that he cared about, he cared about my player, supporting him, and giving him the best endorsement deals possible. Also, if you "fail" somehow at what the assistant coach tells you to do in practice, he scolds you and tells you that you'll be out of this league if you keep performing like that in practice even if you are in your 4th season and a 2 time NBA champion, Finals MVP, MVP, but it doesn't matter. He doesn't give you any respect. In the cutscenes, even after 4 seasons, your teammates still call you a rookie. Al Jefferson's voice acting is just not good at all in the cutscenes, no emotion. MyPlayer hairstyles: We need better lineups, designs and hard parts available, and better cornrows and the ability to design our cornrows. The cornrows just look stiff and we need the ability to have regular dreadlocks, not just dreads in a ponytail. Even when 2K did add better lineups, in the game, the cropped hairstyles looks extremely shiny and it is very annoying. MyPlayer Shoes and Clothing: The shoes look terrible and I'm glad that 2K is doing 3D scanning for the shoes for 2K16. However, NBA Live was the first to do this back in NBA Live 14. MyPark and Jordan Rec Center: I don't like the got next feature and just for one game at the JRC, I have to wait for an hour on the got next line. There is also a glitch were you could create a 7'2 point guard, also known as a demigod, and play with it in MyPark. It is ruining the game mode and it exploits the game. Don't do this. VC: 2K is becoming greedy and it just wants you to buy VC so that they get more money in their pockets. It irritates me that you could buy VC and max out your player and get the best MyTeam without any work. It is also ruining the game and it has been ruining the NBA 2K franchise since 2K13. VC is also for the entire game so if you preordered the game like I did, you get a code and that code gets you 10,000 VC. The Air Jordan 11s cost 10,000 VC in this game for your MyPlayer at MyPark or in cutscenes. That says a lot. Heat vs. Spurs: I was quite annoyed when they made you play a full game of Heat vs. Spurs before you could get into the Main Menu. Thanks a lot 2K. Overall, I hope NBA 2K16 will be much better than this game. One day, I might add some more pros and cons but for now, good day or night everybody. Peace.
