This is a good post workout lotion or just for any aches and pains you need relief from as it is works pretty much instantly. You don’t need too much as it is quite strong and intense. The smell is not too bad, basically a sweet deep freeze smell. It’s strong but not overpowering and doesn’t linger too much. The bottle is good quality and the pump works well and is nice and light. Fairly expensive but I would say worth it as it does work and a little goes a long way 👍 Would buy again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Duncurin has been trying out this post-workout ‘recovery’ lotion. After spending an hour in the gym, Duncurin likes to pop down to the pool; maybe a couple of lengths but really I am aiming for the spa where I can ‘collapse’ for 20mins or so while the warm waters and water jets flow against aching joints and muscles. Enter this recovery lotion which aims to continue this trend. I used it mainly on gym days but of course it is a moisturiser and after sun lotion in its own right. The nice 200ml plunger bottle is easy to slot into one’s gym bag and is easy to find and use. The lotion is coloured but clear and goes on one’s aching limbs. There is more than a bit of a tingle to it and the menthol and volatile substances within means that one won’t want it anywhere near one’s eyes - even applied to the legs the eyes tingle a bit. The effect comes on as soon as it is applied and tends to last for over 30 mins.Any stickiness subsides fairly quickly but I suspect that the smell that emanates for a while would deter one from putting on one’s favourite jeans, leggings etc before leaving the gym. I suspect too that upon joining friends afterwards, maybe having a coffee, then they would be able to notice the odour coming off for some time. Mainly then for this reason Duncurin would advise that such lotion is used purely in an exercise and immediate post-exercise setting and I’m not at all sure I’d want to slip on my best jeans let alone my all wool trousers after such use. Although the lotion is well suited to days in the gym, the spa or by the pool; for any other social interaction then a simple shower moisturiser/skin lotion would be my preference. Many thanks.

I'm a casual home gym enthusiast - as keen as mustard but not as disciplined as I'd like to be due to ill health - and as a result, suffer from sore muscles after workouts. I've been using the Pelotan Apres Aftersun and Post Workout Recovery Gel and have felt some relief from the soreness as a result. I like this product for a number of reasons, firstly it is packed full of active ingredients. I like the smell - doesn't smell artificial or overpowering, it absorbs well, has a cooling effect and it leaves no stickiness or residue. However the consistency is too runny. Personally I like to massage products into my skin, but because this product absorbs so fast, I can't really do that unless I act fast or do a bit at a time. I like to keep it in the fridge. I think this is a good all round product and would happily recommend.

I’m not a hardcore athlete, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt. I’ve used this after short and moderate runs, and it hasn’t won me over. The gel itself has a loose consistency and it’s bright blue, very off putting when first dispensed. It does apply quite well, readily absorbed and without any nasty residue. There is an initial cooling blast from the menthol, but it’s very short lived and doesn’t actually feel as though it provides any benefit or improved recovery. Your mileage may vary, but for me it doesn’t justify the price.

A little bit of this gel goes a long way. It absorbs quickly into the skin and makes the skin feel refreshed and moisturised. The gel has an astringent smell which is quite strong. If you apply this in large quantities you may smell like a medicine cabinet! However, this gel is not there to make you smell good. It's supposed to sooth tired muscles which it does. As soon as I saw the bright blue gel, I was immediately worried about stickiness, but I was shocked that there was no stickiness at all! The gel glides smoothly on skin without any sticky texture, nor does it leave any sticky residue on your skin or clothing. The gel has a strong menthol scent, which might make trying to wear it discreetly unlikely, as my colleagues could smell a menthol scent straight away and ask me what it was, so definitely I will be just wearing this gel at home. Make sure you wash your hands after use, and don't touch your face, near your eyes, or use the toilet until you've gotten it fully off your hands. I wouldn't say that I felt this gel lower my core body temperature as advertised, but I did get a cooling sensation on the areas that I applied the gel; the effect lasted around 20 minutes. Personally, I found that this gel dried my skin out a bit rather than its supposed moisturising effect, but I am not surprised with alcohol being the second ingredient in the gel. Personally, I believe the price point to be a bit high for this Pelotan Apres recovery gel. I think you are paying a bit more because of the brand rather than the effectiveness of the gel. It did provide a cool, soothing sensation to the areas applied, but that was about all the effectiveness I felt after using this gel. I would probably use it again, but I wouldn't look to purchase it again once it was used up.

The lotion comes in a pump action bottle that is easy to use. Once primed a short pump dispenses a small quantity of a bright blue gel into the hand - it resembles a thick shower gel. The gel rubs into skin fairly easily releasing a very slight cooling effect. My hands were left slightly tacky for a couple of minutes - not really an issue, and as it further dried or was absorbed the tackiness went away. There was no "soothing" though - just that slight cooling effect on immediate application and now if anything my skin feels quite dry - too dry in fact. I'm very glad I didn't test this out on my face! I'm off now to wash this off and moisturise.
