Zilla Silver Reflector Domes 8.5 Inches

This was my first attempt at raising chickens. For use in my brooder, I purchased a 100W Ceramic Infrared heat emitter, and a Zilla Terrarium controller to use with a Reflector Dome for providing a source of regulated heat. The devices all worked well together. The chicks were drawn to it and would huddle underneath it for warmth. I had read that the infrared spectrum of heat more closely resembled sunlight and was better suited as a healthier heat source.There was no need for moving the dome up as the chicks got older to lower the temperature as the Zilla device was able to control the temperature within a few degrees. Made my job a lot simpler.

I love this dome! The only thing that I would change is adding a switch so that I don’t have to unplug and plug it back in every morning and night. On the plus side though, this does lower fire risks since it can’t start a fire if it’s not plugged it. (To my understanding anyways)

The product is working but it arrived today with many dents in the metal shade. It seemed to be boxed well, so I hope the dents don’t lessen the life of the product.

I bought this because it doesn't have a switch. I didn't want the increased fire risk of a switch (added point of possible failure) and this does the job!

I'll buy this again in the future if I get any more snakes or other reptiles, the only downside is having to unplug it every night. I'm spoiled by heat lamps that have an on/off switch.

I purchased the silver one. As far as I researched, this product is the best of the best. However the only other thing I would add is a on/off switch that my other had. I just started using it a few weeks ago so my review is based off of research and looks when I received it.

This is by far one of the most inferior quality light domes I’ve used and I’ve bred snakes and lizards for a number of years. You may as well use tin foil. It’s thin, no switch (should be a given really) and the bulb screw is ridiculously inferior! Spend a couple bucks more and get a better brand!

Reflector arrived dented. Nice that the socket is ceramic, not plastic but... At this price, it doesn't come with any mounting hardware and the reflector is super thin... Only rated for 150W

Products works has listed. My only problem is that 1 of the dome were damaged. Otherwise I am pleased.

I bought this to house a heating bulb for my hedgehog's home. Works wonderful. Very pleased.
