My husband wasn't keen at first but has come round. I think that they are fabulous. I wanted something a bit different and they are definitely that. The spoons are a bit odd, in that the tea spoons are the size of small dessert spoons and the dessert spoons are the size of table spoons! The knives are extremely sharp! Over all and excellent set for the price!!

Such a stylish set. We use it for special occassions

I previously wrote this review about them not being stainless. I am not too proud to admit that I was wrong. Full stop. They are stainless. I thought they weren't and continued to handwash, but eventually I got tired of handwashing these and decided to just put them in the dishwasher and deal with the results. As such, I have experienced that any rush that does form can easily be wiped off with a clean cloth. Furthermore, I no longer actually get rust spots on them, and it was a simple fix. I simply needed to refill my rinse-aid tank, because the things I was washing ended up being slightly moist after finishing, and that is what causes these small rust spots. After looking into it, it is very worth noting that stainless steel is actually stain RESISTANT, not stainproof. This means prolonged moisture and air exposure can still cause tiny spots of rust like what I saw here, which tracks perfectly with This changes my review back to a 5 star because I was very much wrong and I believe in owning my mistakes. They're absolutely gorgeous! They are really good, the knife has a really nice weight to it, and while it does function great as a butter knife, the teeth are also pretty sharp and keep their edge, so it also doubles as a cutting knife. I am very happy! The only thing to consider is that the spoons are very big, so they can't really consistently be used for measuring when cooking - but you shouldn't do that anyway, you should get dedicated measuring spoons. My only remark now is, be careful when loading them in the dishwasher. While they ARE dishwasher safe, make sure they don't rub up against sharp edges or get loaded too tightly as they CAN scratch the electrolytic colouring that makes them a colour. This is less an issue if you get the non-coloured ones, of course.

Pretty but lightweight

I love these. The flawless black is beautiful to look at. I almost wanted to put these on display; but I have always loathed the concept of display kitchenware. But these look really good on my burgundy placemats. My specific use case is that I wanted silverware that was lightweight: these are most certainly lightweight, even having cutouts on the handle ensuring no excess weight. This is in sharp contrast to my previous set of forks, which had handles so darn heavy that they were always falling off the plate, and even trays carrying the plates. An awful problem to have, and one that these implements have solved fully. I have yet to drop one of these, and they are feather light in the hand, so even the children love using these. That being said, two things should be noted: 1.) These are borderline sharp. The thinness of the metal can allow one to get a solid poke or scratch if not paying attention. This is noted on the table knives, as right now, at least, they are almost sharp enough to cut steaks with! And they have a shape that is somehow really cool. Spreads things nicely. 2.) Durability? The thinness makes me question how long they will last. Really only the times on the forks, the concern is will they get bent easily? The table knives are solid and I have zero concern on durability for the knives, spoons, or serving spoons. I want to say that on the dessert/salad forks I have, that they have a slight bend to them already. But all the times are in line, so if there was a bend, it is uniform through all 4. And I cannot tell for certain. So something I will watch, but not an overt issue at this time. The black finish is mirror like, and thus far through a week of daily use and washing in the dishwasher, complete with tossing against other much heavier silverware, the black finish remains flawless. No little scratches, no chips. This impresses me the most. Excellent set.
