World's Best Blender
The Vitamix Explorian is a powerful and versatile blender that can handle a variety of tasks, from making smoothies and soups to crushing ice and grinding nuts. It has a 2.0 peak horsepower motor that can easily pulverize even the toughest ingredients, and its 10 variable speeds allow you to customize the texture of your blends. The blender also comes with a self-cleaning function that makes cleanup a breeze. Here are some of the things that I love about the Vitamix Explorian: Powerful motor: The 2.0 peak horsepower motor can easily blend through anything, from frozen fruit to tough vegetables. Variable speeds: The 10 variable speeds allow you to customize the texture of your blends, from smooth to chunky. Self-cleaning function: The self-cleaning function makes cleanup a breeze. Just add a drop of dish soap and some warm water, and run the blender on high for 30 seconds. Durable construction: The Vitamix Explorian is built to last. It has a sturdy base and a BPA-free plastic container. Long warranty: The Vitamix Explorian comes with a 7-year warranty, which is one of the longest in the industry. Overall, the Vitamix Explorian is a great choice for anyone who wants a powerful and versatile blender that will last for years to come. It's not the cheapest blender on the market, but it's definitely worth the investment. Here are some additional things to consider when choosing a blender: Power: The motor power is important for determining how well the blender can blend tough ingredients. A blender with a 2.0 peak horsepower motor or higher should be sufficient for most tasks. Speeds: A blender with multiple speeds gives you more control over the texture of your blends. A minimum of 5 speeds is recommended. Features: Some features to look for include a self-cleaning function, a tamper, and a BPA-free container. Warranty: A long warranty is a good indication of the quality of the blender. A 7-year warranty is a good standard. If you're looking for a powerful and versatile blender that will last for years to come, the Vitamix Explorian is a great option. It's not the cheapest blender on the market, but it's definitely worth the investment.

so far so great
I have only owned this blender for a short time but have already used it far more than I typically used my cheap low end blender in a year. I am pleasantly surprised with how functional and easy to use this machine is. I was a little intimidated by other reviews making it seem very complex to operate. It is not at all. We have successfully made several sauces and soups and of course plenty of smoothies. The small instructional booklet that came with it was very helpful in knowing how to best arrange liquid to solid ingredients for optimum blending & everything has come out just perfectly. We have a household favorite recipe for pasta sauce made with cauliflower, almond milk, oil and nutritional yeast and it always came out chunky and watery with our old blender, but it's silky smooth & awesome using the Vitamix! I haven't yet tried heavier things like nut butters, however. Despite being made of plastic, the jar seems extremely durable. The 64 oz size is large but I think it's all the better for having extra space especially when you stick a bunch of kale or other greens in for smoothies for two or more people. It does get crazy loud at high speeds but you get used to it quickly and it doesn't seem so crazy within a week or so of use. On a more shallow note, I love the way it looks on my counter and the red color is a perfect shade that could pair well with brighter classic red items as well as darker candy apple red items. I am glad I went with that instead of playing it safe with black. I fully admit to wanting a Vitamix partly because it's an iconic kitchen item I see vloggers using, but this refurbished less expensive model was the perfect way for me to own a Vitamix without investing a huge sum. It came in branded, impeccable packaging and there's nothing about it that seems damaged or used in any way.

Renewed Vitamix Explorian Blender
This is the first time I've owned any type of Vitamix appliance, and it's also the first time I've ordered anything Renewed from Amazon. I've been very pleased so far with this purchase. Presence The Vitamix came in original packing and was fully protected for shipping. When I took it out it was clean and there were no markings over most of the exterior. The only very minor markings appeared on the shiny plastic chin beneath the front controls. It looks like very faint little markings, which you can't normally see unless you get right in front and look (like when you pick it up in both hands). Other than that everything was clear and clean. Overall the Explorean is excellently manufactured with quality materials. Mixing Bowl I call it the mixing bowl for lack of a better term. That's the part (pitcher plus top) that sits on the base. It's heavy and rugged and was completely clear when it arrived. I washed it anyway before trying it out. Use My use so far has been creating various soups, especially tomato. It does quick work of any vegetable I put in, and in the case of soups will heat up nearly 64 ounces of material in between four and six minutes. Noise During Use Yes, it's noisy, especially at high speeds during soup making. For other recipes that do not call for high speeds it's a lot quieter than at, say, six or higher on the speed selection dial. Smell(s) During Use When I turned it on the very first time there was the faint aroma of hot machine oil that came from the base. It quickly dissipated and has not come back. Because this is a renewed item I attribute this to a bit of excess machine oil from the renewal process in the motor or bearings. It is definitely not a big deal at all. Cleanup After Use It's extremely simple to clean up. Fill about half with water, add a few drops of dish detergent, put the lid back on, and turn on the Vitamix for about 30 seconds, running the dial up and then down. After than I washed the exterior with a bottle brush I have as well as the inside of the lid. It cleans up very nicely for the next time I use it. Overall At the price Amazon listed this for before Christmas, this is probably the best deal on a Vitamix I've ever seen. I've barely scratched the surface with this mixer. I've been slowly going through various Vitamix recipes, and they've all turned out quite excellent. It would appear that as long as I take good care of it, this Vitamix will last a good long time and give great service in the kitchen.

A Decade of Vitamix Magic Continues with the Explorian Blender!
As a dedicated Vitamix owner for well over a decade, I can confidently attest that the Vitamix Explorian Blender, even as a renewed model, upholds the brand's enduring commitment to excellence. After relocating from Kenya back to the US and leaving my beloved Vitamix behind, I found myself in need of a new one. This was my very first kitchen appliance purchase as the entire family use it daily. Right from the initial use, this blender felt like an old friend reuniting with me. It performs precisely as you'd anticipate from a Vitamix – it's an absolute powerhouse! Whether I'm concocting smoothies, simmering soups, or experimenting with pesto recipes, this blender has yet to disappoint. It consistently delivers impeccably smooth, creamy, and flawlessly blended results, aligning seamlessly with the expectations of a professional-grade machine. One of its standout attributes, in my opinion, is its user-friendliness. The controls are intuitively designed, facilitating seamless transitions between speeds and ensuring I achieve the ideal texture for any recipe with ease. Additionally, it manages to maintain a surprisingly hushed operation, despite the significant power it wields. This feature is a true blessing for early morning smoothie sessions or any culinary venture that extends into the late hours. While the 64 oz. low-profile container design marked a departure from the taller containers I was accustomed to, it has proven to be a space-saving revelation in my compact kitchen. It fits snugly beneath my cabinets, allowing for convenient storage, all without the slightest compromise in the blender's exceptional performance. What sets Vitamix apart, in my view, is their unwavering dedication to uncompromising standards and quality. They steadfastly refuse to cut corners, and this commitment shines through every facet of this blender. Remarkably, it comes at what I consider a bargain price, which makes it all the more appealing. I have the utmost confidence that, just like its predecessors, this Vitamix will remain a loyal and long-serving companion in my culinary adventures for years to come.

Loud, Powerful, Robust, Versatile.
A lot to say about the Vitamix blender. This particular model is 1:1 identical to the unit I have seen retail at Costco. Their buyers must have requested a more powerful motor and specs that place it above other Vitamix blenders in the same price range. Finding this model on Amazon, I have to assume these are diverted returns from Costco inventory. In the case of certified refurbished at Amazon, I have found no indication of prior use and by the looks of it, seems to have been factory repackaged in Ohio. No regrets buying refurbished, in fact I feel that I have accessed a best-of-class product on a steal! It's a great feeling folks. Vitamix blenders have been around since the Pyramids it seems. A lot of people have owned them, and the longevity of their construction is proven. No need to go into detail on what has already been spoken of before. However, particular to this model. You will get a simple control console, better 2.2Hp motor, low profile container, and full warranty..... All at a cost substantially less than new. In fact, if it were still in my budget to reach for a better model, there is little value added for me to step-up. I prefer the manual blend controls (pulse, and manual variable are all I desire), and the 2.2Hp motor is above the standard 2Hp of even some higher cost models. This thing does everything and more. I rub in my friends faces that I bought what they saved up for at almost half the cost. Refurb. on this model is $260, new approx $350, and other models for minimal advantage (in my opinion) retail $500+ This blender will be a mainstay of my kitchen arsenal for years to come, and I am now convinced in the value of having a top tier blender. It is up to any task, and I have already used the blender to prepare food items I'd never have consider possible being made at home. If you're on the fence about stepping up from something mid-grade and you are just slightly out of budget to get this blender, WAIT and buy when you can get this. It will pay for itself. There is a sense of price prestige around this item, but purchasing refurb has brought cost down to a level I can accept. But once you own one of these, I can say you are locked in on a piece of equipment that will last longer than your kitchen will.

I’m in love with blending now!
I’m super happy that I decided to upgrade my blender. My smoothies are now finally smooth! As a vegan, I blend nuts frequently for sauces, dressings, etc. Well my old blender would leave them a little chunky. Everyone said to get a Vitamix, but with a price tag so high, I couldn’t justify spending that much. Someone I know purchased a refurbished one and highly recommended that others on a budget go that route as well. So I finally talked myself into it, and I’m in love!!! Everything came packaged as if it were new and it looked new too. Including the manual which was wrapped in plastic. It’s easy to use, easy to clean and works perfectly. It’s even backed by Amazon. My only complaint (and the reason for 4 stars) is that the canisters has these opaque spots on it in one area near the top. I didn’t notice it the first time I used it, but did notice it on the third time. So I don’t know if it was there all along or just appeared after the first use. There is nothing wrong with it, it just looks a little cloudy in that area and I can’t get rid of them. For that kind of money, refurbished or not, I want it to sparkle while sitting on my counter and not look like I don’t know how to clean things properly.

We are a Vitamix Family
This is actually my third Vitamix. I grew up having a Vitamix (it was their very old model which was all stainless steel). I believe my mom still has it. I then got another one about six years ago and it's going strong and has held up to many uses and now teens using it daily. We decided to purchase this one for my daughter in college who was moving into an apartment. Obviously I am a Vitamix fan, but had yet to purchase a refurbished one. Honestly, it works just as well as a a new one. It's holding up just fine and my daughter reports that her roommates also have enjoyed it and will purchase one for themselves when they are out on their own. She also loves the lower profile as it fits comfortably under the cupboards in her apartment so it doesn't take up too much valuable counterspace. Why a Vitamix? It's more than a heavy duty smoothie maker (although that is what my kiddos primarily use it for). It is a workhorse. It makes soups, nut butters (another favorite in our household), frozen treats and more. That was a huge selling point for us. My daughter has a major food allergy and this way she can make her own nut butters and soups while not having to worry about what was in there or if there was cross contamination in the food facility. She is loving it and uses it daily. The only bad thing she said is that it is very loud, so she cannot use it some mornings when her roommates are asleep (ahh, the hardships of college life ;o) ). She says to give it a five star rating. Lastly, Yes, this was an expensive purchase. I will note here, that because the expense, many people shy away from Vitamixes...understandably. However, when I looked at the price and hashed out how much we save by using a Vitamix along with the longevity of Vitamixes, it's been well worth the money.

Texture problem? Little pieces of spinach? Unblended chunks of fruit? SOLVED.
This is silly but I wanted to perfect my carrot cake smoothies and make them smooooth (blending carrots is a nightmare) but a nightmare no more!! This thing blends carrots to complete water! Breaks down fibers completely. Here’s a smoothie recipe (you’ll get addicted) (1 banana, 1 carrot (medium)(like half a cup), 1 date, 2 tsp fresh ginger or 1/2 tsp powder, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or powder, 1/2 tsp maple extract or 1 teaspoon maple syrup(a must) 1/4 tsp cinnamon, a good pinch of nutmeg (isn’t necessary), (so with this blender I use less liquid than a regular blender. A regular blender I use 1 cup of milk (almond or cashew) but with this I use 1/4 cup of milk bc the carrots get blended into pure liquid!!! so you can do 1/4-1/2 of liquid with this blender. 1 scoop protein powder, PREFERABLY that brown sugar oatmeal one that’s going viral, vanilla is fine too. I love adding walnuts or hemp seeds into this as well. Trust me on this smoothie you’ll lose so much weight and have glowing skin!!! fiber bomb!!!! What I haven’t tried yet is adding a tablespoon of low fat cream cheese butttt that will be my next additional! 😊 anyway, buy this blender if you are a texture person like me! Also makes AMAZING smooooth banana Icecream! Other blenders take too long to blend and it becomes too liquidy. Buy this.

Good Value
I bought this last year and waited till now to write a review to allow myself time to properly evaluate it. It is the first Vitamix I have, I was a bit worried the first few times I used it because of the loud noise. I was so worried I wore gloves and used both my hands to press down on the lid to make sure the machine won't break apart! I need to wear hearing protection every time I turn this machine on. In the past year, I use the Vitamix weekly to make soup, I also tried making peanut butter and pesto sauce a few times. I had no problem with peanut butter and pesto. Tutorials and videos indicated soups are blended for one minute, but I found that the machine automatically turns off after 6-7 minutes, so I always turn off after 5 minutes. Other than this, I have no problem with the machine. I don't use the machine a lot, but it is still worth the price (I bought the machine on sale). I'd definitely recommend it.

Vitamix = Good
I knew a lot of people that had these for years before I decided to purchase mine. Lots of power, will pretty much blend anything. It’s quite loud on high speed. I don’t think there’s anything you can do about that though, just the nature of a very powerful 12 amp motor. Makes great, frozen margaritas, fast. The instructions say that you can cook soup in it by leaving the blender on for about 10 minutes on full speed. Sure it’ll get hot and steamy but there is no way that it will actually cook the soup. You still have to pour it into a saucepan and actually cook it after you heat it up in the Vitamix on high. Personally, I don’t think I could listen to it for 10 minutes. I went through 10 pounds of tomatoes, salt, and oregano, blended it all up and froze it as a good and fast base for a pasta sauce. Work amazing for quick prep. Excellent blender.

Very happy with this purchase.
I had been using a lower end Ninja brand blender for 8+ years and it served me well, but it just wasn't cutting it anymore. I like to put a lot of fruits and veggies in my smoothies, and I basically ended up having to chew them with my old one. I got this blender because I didn't want to pay the insane $500+ dollars, but I wanted the quality of a Vitamix. This thing does not disappoint. I've been using it every day now for about 3 weeks and it works perfectly. It can easily blend through ice, fibrous veggies, whatever you throw in there. It's bigger than I expected, but it looks nice (in the red) so I really don't mind having it out on display. I haven't yet used the pulse feature, but I got this specifically for my daily smoothies so I'm happy.

Loving it, but important specification about the container size
I just love my Vitamix!!! There's only one thing I would have liked to know before I bought it though. Here it is : When you buy your Vitamix, you can choose between the 48 or 64 oz container. I choose 64 mainly because it was the cheapest option when it came to what was available in the refurbished models. But now, I realize that it's actually a bit of a problem. Since I live alone, if I make, for example hummus, I'll absolutely have to use 2 cans of chickpeas in my 64 oz container. I'd rather use only one can, since I'm on my own, but I can't. I tried and it not blend properly one can of chickpeas. Because the base of the container is so large, there was not enough food and it just got stuck under the blade. This is actually stated in the recipe booklet you get with the Vitamix, the book providing different hummus recipes depending on the type of container you own. It's the same for anything else, be it cashew cream, smoothies , sauces... You cannot blend food if it does not at least amount to a cup and a half once blended. If you try with less, big chunks are going to remain. It's still really good for smoothies because I usually make 2-cup-sized smoothies (A regular Mason jar in 500ml, which = 2 cups). But yeah, you couldn't make a small smoothie in the 64 oz container. So, in conclusion, the 64 oz container is not very well suited for people cooking for only themselves. You'll either get crappy results, or you'll have to double your servings.
