Slicing bread with a knife is a skill that can be learned but this provides a consistency that is very difficult to achieve by hand and makes it simple. I bought this after watching several videos which made this seem the most sturdy option among several similarly functioning manual slicers. I considered a folding one and another one that appears very similar to this one but is cheaper and made of plastic. Those both seemed to flex and bend while this one did not. This is the "upgraded metal" version of a slicer which is sold under more than one name and made with plastic parts. I can say this is substantial and sturdy and I suspect worth the additional cost over the plastic version. The thickness adjustment is easy and consistent and slicing is very uniform so long as the loaf is fed into the blade properly. I find the suction cups to be more than adequate. It does not slide on my counter. It slices very well and easily. I see from product videos that many people aren't using these slicers very efficiently and I offer these tips if you're having trouble: turn the crank faster and smoothly and have it up to speed before you feed it the loaf. Be careful about pushing the bread at funny angles which will cause uneven thickness. Push it gently from front to back, not down or hard against the face of the blade. I suspect that people who complain about the bread tearing at the end of the cut are not actually feeding the loaf all the way through and are stopping before the bottom of the loaf has fully cleared the blade. If slicing more than one piece, let the second slice clear the previous slice rather than pulling each slice, one at a time, from behind the blade.

It makes slicing much easier and gives me nice, even slices compared to cutting by hand. It’s simple to use, and because it’s so lightweight, it’s easy to move and store when I’m finished. Overall, this is a practical kitchen tool that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. If you’re looking for an affordable bread slicer that stays stable during use, I definitely recommend it.

What a game changer! No uneven slices and no nicked fingers. Arrived ready to use. Suction cups keep it firmly in place on the counter while we sliced through six loaves of freshly baked sourdough. Simple to use and each slice came out perfectly. The adjustability of the blade allows for even the thinnest of slices. So happy with this purchase.

After a few years of slicing my bread one piece at a time (with many pieces sliced at odd angles) I decided to invest in a bread slicer. Used it for the first time this morning- what a game changer! My beautiful sourdough is no longer butchered by uncaring hands ( some people in my household are unfamiliar with the concept of a 90 degree angle.) The loaf I made last night is now beautifully sliced. This bread slicer was very easy to use, the directions were clear, everything worked. I am very happy with this product!

Incredible. It arrived ready to use. My bread slices are even which makes for better sandwiches - you can go up to .9in in slice thickness. Not difficult to clean, and gives you the tools to fully remove the blade for deep cleaning if needed. The suction cups on the bottom are strong, which keeps everything secure while cutting and I don't have to worry about my kids yanking it off the counter. The color matches my kitchen esthetic perfectly. 10/10

Hubby bakes delicious breads and slicing the boules are the hardest bread to slice. With the tops and bottoms all crunchy makes it hard work,.saw this little gem, read the reviews and thought for the price I would give it a go. The bread now comes out sliced perfectly even and all the same thickness hurray. I really like the guard that is also helping to keep the bread slices from falling over as you work, its easy to use and we've found the right thickness of bread with a little trial and error, the adjustable thickness was easy to use and we found that keeping it from moving on a surface was was just as easy. It looks nice (we bought the red one) I know you can buy a cover for it and I'm thinking of getting it for safety as well as helping keep the dust off it. Definitely recommend getting one if you bake breads with that wonderful hard crusty sourdough crunch.

My wife has decided in our retirement to start baking sourdough bread. I bought this despite having decent bread knives, because I was having difficulty handling while cutting through the tough crust. I admit to being pleasantly surprised by this item. First, I didn't expect the working mechanism to be metal. I thought it would be red plastic. Second, I wondered if this would be difficult to hold down while turning the cutting blade and feeding the bread through the guide. Our counters are granite and the suction cup feet hold the base in place quite well, so there is no problem cutting slice after slice. This is slightly bigger than your average toaster, so counter space may be an issue. And this is intended only for slicing bread, you might get away with slicing other things but that's on you, I have not attempted to cut anything else. And replacement blades are available which is something I appreciate. Overall this is one purchase I'm quite pleased with.

The product itself is self-explanatory. It was well packaged and ready to use, just washed and dried and it was ready to go. The plus on this one it has a bar that holds the bread slice away from the handle when you’re turning it some others do not have that and the bread slice gets in the way of the turning handle, it also has a a knob you can adjust for the thickness of the slices. I feel it’s very safe to use. You are in control of the handle and the bread and it slices beautifully.It is lightweight and the suction is extremely secure which I had to move one suction at a time to get it off the counter. No fear in it slipping but remember this is a manual slicer, you go at your own speed! Would recommend.
