Bose Smart Dolby Atmos Soundbar, Bluetooth Soundbar Speaker with Voice Control and Amazon Alexa Built-In, Works with Google Assistant Capabilities, Black

Bought this to get a Dolby atmos soundbar to replace my ageing QM4 105 one after trying the Sonos Beam 2 also. The Sonos one had a lot of issues for me - Trueplay wouldn't work and calibrate, issues with some low frequency / bass rattle. Hours on the phone with support to no avail. I returned it and got this one from Bose and what a difference. Worked almost straight out of the box via eARC HDMI (had to get the app and set up, not just wired mode), great and clear sound and the high channel for the atmos (upward facing speakers) makes a difference, even with high ceiling (5m). Dialogue is crystal clear without the AI dialogue enhancer, which also seems to work but at the expense of dulling other sounds. The alien attack scenes at "A quiet place" were amazingly engaging and I got goosebumps whereas the wife got genuinely scared. The quality this can produce without a rear speaker or a bass module is astounding, although I think it will probably benefit from the bass module. Even though I wouldn't say the bass is bad, it lacks the punch my old 105 or even the Sonos. If I could critique anything else, it would be that it's a little bland when it comes to just audio play. Not bad but not outstanding. Having said that, the AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and chromecast support are very convenient and Spotify integration is great. I have not yet tried surround audio from Apple Music and only tried the Bjork concert on TV+ but if you don't like her music, it's hard to be objective. One thing I'd like the app to do better is to show the source type playing better/easier so you can see when something is using dolby atmos - you have to click the current source and open it to see if it's atmos or PCM or whatever. Also, volume adjustment is not bound to the iPhone volume controls when using AirPlay, I guess this is standard. Overall, great / exceptional value for the money. If you can get the old model 600 without the AI enhancement cheaper, go for it.

A major problem in buying a sound bar is that the only way to see if they suit your needs is to try one at home before purchase - as this is rarely possible, the only alternative is to read as many reviews, recommendations etc as possible. I was looking for a soundbar that was good with dialogue and not too much bass to pair with my 55" Sony Bravia tv. After much deliberation I chose the Bose Smart (600) soundbar and we are delighted with the it - the dialogue is very clear (even without resorting to the AI option) and the overall sound quality is excellent. The Bose app needs to be downloaded in the setting up procedure and a bit of patience is required here, but it is worth spending the time as further adjustments to the sound can be made to fine tune the bass, treble and height via your phone. Our room measures about 6m x 6m and, at around half volume, the soundbar is plenty loud enough to provide and entertaining experience - which is surprising considering its compact size. This is an excellent product and represents good value the money.

Really good sound quality for small to medium sized living room like mine. Big plus that connects with Bluetooth unlike Sonos Beam Gen 2. Looks nice with good quality materials and does not take up too much space. I really like the up firing speakers. The bass power is okayish but would not expect a lot of bass from this one but I’m sure buying a separate bass would make a big difference. Price could be a bit better but thankfully I waited for Boxing Day which included a discount. Overall really happy with the Bose smart soundbar, looking forward to listen to surround sound with rear speakers in future. Will update this if any issues.

The actual sound bar gets 5 starts. It’s sounds incredible and the Dolby atmos is night and day to what we were hearing from the tv speakers. We have a smallish living room and the sound fills the entire room even at low volumes. The audio is nice and clear too. Music also sounds awesome. The initial set up was also pretty straightforward and didn’t take me too long. It’s also big but not too large to fit on a standard tv stand. Now the bit I hate the most is the app. Which I would give 2 stars to. It loses connection a lot and then struggles to reconnect even when. My phone is right in front of the sound bar. You do get a remote with the system to control the volume but if you want to control separate aspects like bass or treble, it has to be done via the app. This can be frustrating. Most of the time I leave my settings as I left them so the app isn’t vital but it’s just annoying that it loses connection when you need it. I bought the little surround speakers that link with it and they really complete the sound. Overall it’s definitely a big improvement to the tv speakers and if you’re not one to be constantly fiddling with settings on the app, it’s definitely a good purchase, otherwise you’ll probably get quite frustrated with it all.

Wow what a difference this speaker makes remarkable there is not of Dolby Atmos around this is mostly in cinemas as far as I know anyway either way massive improvement best to use HDMI lead as this is better than optic cable especially if you are wanting the full sound out of this speaker worth the money I believe you get what you pay for and Bose well the name says it all ❤️

As per usual with all Bose products,great sound and high quality shines through. Easy set-up using app and connects through Apple TV wirelessly with no issues.I am using with Bose 500 Subwoofer which complements the soundbar perfectly, and the Dolby Atmos fills our living room effectively.

Took ages to set up,as you have to download apo, then it had to do updates, set up all my settings on LG tv ,set up speaker to work with tv when switched on etc, but every morning I have to unplug speaker and plug it in again for it to recognize tv,such a shame, saved £100 buying in black Friday deal, but £399 is a lot to waste for something that s great when it works, but shut when you have to keep resetting it, also having to use an app, very disappointed with it, also didn't play Dolby armies only lpc2 through tv, would not recommend for price, better optio nd out there, wasted money for me, but let down from big name, ....

I used to have two Apple HomePods for a cinematic experience which were amazing! But I’m trying to break away from the Apple ecosystem, so I diverted to Sonos as they were praised beyond praise… well I got the Beam gen 2 and could not believe how AWFUL it was, the app was riddled with issues and still is from what I hear. So AVOID Sonos like the plague, dreadful sound separation and no clarity is dialogue. So I was debating about whether to try Bose or Sennheiser Ambeo, I opted for Bose Smart Soundbar and oh my what a beast!! It pumps out amazing sound, clarity and has more than enough bass for the rumble you’d want for movies…etc. Some reviews say get the Sub, yeah probably worth getting if you are bass head but I don’t know if you really need it, but I’m definitely going to be investing in the rear speakers at some point. Now I know some reviewers commenting about the reported issues with app and connection drop outs, it’s still early days for me but the connection seems rock solid so far and the app was quick and easy to set up with the soundbar and the functionality of the app is clean and intuitive. No complaints here but I will duly update my review should any issues arise which I hope do not as I’m already in love with this soundbar! The sound is just awesome and Dolby Atmos is definitely delivered through this soundbar. I heard all three products of Bose in my local Currys store, I nearly opted for the base model Bose TV speaker as that sounded amazing too for what it is! But I knew I would want that Dolby Atmos so opted for this soundbar and as for the Ultra soundbar, that sounded brilliant too but I don’t know if it’s worth it over the Smart soundbar, but I wouldn’t rule out upgrading to a higher end Bose soundbar in the future but that all rests on how well it performs for the duration of its longterm use. If you are considering Sonos, for god’s sake DON’T do it! Get a Bose, you will NOT be disappointed.

Sehr gute kompakte Soundbar; sogar meine Freundin, für die ich sie bestellt habe, versteht den TV-Ton jetzt gut - trotz ihrer einseitigen Hörnerv-Schädigung. Die Bose APP hat aber einen schwerwiegenden Fehler: Sie arbeitet nicht korrekt auf dem Samsung-Handy meiner Freundin; im Einrichtungsvorgang scheiterte die Fortsetzung nach der Eingabe der WLAN-Daten, weil der Button "Weiter" nicht sichtbar wurde. Ich musste die Soundbar daher (natürlich verbunden mit dem Bose-Account meiner Freundin) mit meinem iPhone einrichten; das klappte problemlos. Aber jetzt kann meine Freundin keine Einstellungen mit ihrem Samsung-Handy vornehmen - ärgerlich...
