Safety is paramount, and the Air 3S doesn't disappoint. The inclusion of a forward-facing LiDAR sensor significantly enhances obstacle avoidance, providing an extra layer of security, especially in challenging environments or low-light conditions. The upgraded ActiveTrack 360 intelligently follows subjects, offering more fluid and reliable tracking around obstacles. Flight performance is equally impressive. As a foot note the bonus is that the Air 3S from January next year (2026) will be in the same category of 250g drones opening up new possibilities.

This drone is absolutely incredible, worth its price and flys well. To begin, as to expect from DJI, the quality of this product is top notch. Every part of the body is smooth and easy to handle, with the entire drone folded to fit in your hand. The dual camera set is incredible, producing absolutely stunning footage, night or day. Photos come out with a lot of detail and can be cropped tightly. With the correct colour correction in post production, you can get your subject or landscape ‘cinema-ready’. Both cameras have their uses, but I have a particular favour for the 3x lens that the smaller DJI Drones don’t have. It enables you to get closer in on the subject while still keeping a significant distance or height away. It also allows for an incredible compression effect. Other than the footage, the drone is jammed with features that grant the user a more safe, controlled and enjoyable experience. The obstacle avoidance sensor suite is very good at its job however there isn’t much situations where I rely on the LIDAR only, so I feel as though it’s ineffective at night. The most helpful feature I have found is the QuickTransfer ability, which allows you to transfer footage from your drone straight to a phone without the need of a cable or SD card. Battery life is more like half an hour compared to the advertised 45 minutes when using in most conditions, but this is expected. I recommend at least two batteries. I purchased the package that included the RC-N3, the phone version of the controller, and I am quite content with using it with my phone. There is really no significant reason to pick the RC version, unless you need your phone separately. I am incredibly happy with my purchase of this drone, despite the price it comes at. I would recommend this drone to experienced pilots and beginners. There is a photo of the drone and an unprocessed video straight from the drone attached.

This is my first ‘proper’ drone and I love it. It’s so easy to fly and has some superb, intelligent features. Stability in moderate winds is excellent. The camera quality is cinematic and having the spare batteries means never running out of flight time. I bought this to survey roofs without damaging the roofs or losing the drone and this works flawlessly. The camera images are exceptional and professional. I bought it for work and took it with me to a recent trip to Scotland. I had so much fun flying it across the Northern end of Loch Ness (nothing to report here) and the stunning Loch Lomond. The video sequences are superb. If you’re interested in serious drone flying then start with this and never look back.

I use drones and cameras mostly for landscape photography and videos. This drone is objectively a better aircraft and photography tool than an Air 3 or 2S. The sensor, the dual lenses, improvements in flight stability and control, image quality and focusing options. But I'd suggest it isn't a typical upgrade route from an Air 2S or 3. A more sensible upgrade would be from the mini series or even to work alongside a mini 4 pro or 3 etc. Then you have the flexibility of the smaller drone and the better image quality and flight stability (esp in poor weather) of the 3S. As a photography tool it is outstanding. The images and videos are pin sharp and smooth. The new follow options look incredibly good although I've not used them yet. I'd strongly recommend this to anyone with a mini series looking to step up but make sure you have the credentials and space to fly it. If you have the Air 3 and are happy with it, I'd ot upgrade it if you REALLY wanted the slight improvements but you wouldn't be disappointed. It is, I think, the most drone you can get for the money.

Alright, so I this thing is not cheap – But this thing’s in a league of its own. Genuinely feel like I’ve joined MI6 or something every time I take it out. First Impressions Unboxing it, you can tell it’s not some cheap knock-off. The drone looks and feels fancy and folds up nice and small. The controller’s solid too – comfy enough for a proper session without cramping your hands. Taking Off I was half expecting to crash it straight away, but nope – this thing practically flies itself. Smooth as anything, even when it’s a bit breezy (cheers, British weather). The obstacle sensors are like having a mate shouting, “Oi, watch out!” every time you get too close to a tree. Battery life? Top-notch. I’ve had it up in the air for ages without that panic of hearing it beep and thinking, “Oh no, it’s going down...” Camera Magic The camera is where it really shines. The 4K video is proper crisp – even better than what my phone manages, which is saying something. The wide and telephoto lenses give you loads of options, and the colours are bang on - point it at the right thing and it looks like something off Planet Earth. Even my mum was impressed, and she’s normally only interested in Bake Off. The Good Stuff • Ridiculously easy to fly: If I can manage it, anyone can. • Portable: Folds up so small, you’ll forget it’s in your bag. • Battery life: Properly long. • Clever features: ActiveTrack is like having Spielberg on standby, following me around like I’m the main character. Could Be Better • The price is a bit of a heart-stopper, but once you see the footage, it feels worth it. • Not much storage on it – you’ll need a decent microSD card unless you like living dangerously. Final Thoughts If you’re after a drone that makes you look like you know what you’re doing (even when you don’t), this is it. It’s a bit of an investment, sure, but you’ll have so much fun you won’t care. Just be ready for random dog walkers to stop and ask you, “How high does it go, then?” 10/10, would fly again.

So much fun to own and fly. Got this a couple months ago and now take it everywhere with me, so good for travel and exploring new places. Love all the different modes to help making capturing photos and videos super easy. Battery’s last around 35-40 mins and are quickly recharged.

Only tried to start the drone but have not tried to fly it as you need to buy the charger separately and the battery got only 1 bar left on it so as not to risk flying it with that in mind. It got great response to the remote control. I easily connected it to my phone, though the cord is only for a type C/ android port. You have to connect an adapter to be able to plug it to your apple phone. Images and video got no lags and it is really clear.

The footage quality and distance this drone is capable of are insane. High winds are no problem for this beast

This one of (if not) the best DJI drones you could buy. It might be one of the best drones in general to buy. The dual lens option makes possibilities endless. The omnidirectional sensors are awesome. I’ve tested them out in almost full dark environments, and it worked great. No issues found. Only when it gets really dark the tracking etc won’t work anymore, because the sensors can’t see. But apart from that, it’s so good. I love this drone more than I loved my Avata 2, and I loved that drone very much!

This has been an awesome drone. Flys great and it’s much more quiet than the smaller drones. The camera is amazing. Handles windy days really well. It won’t hit the top speed unless there’s a tail wind but it’s still really fast when you want it to be. Flew it three miles away using the rc2 controller recently and still had a perfect connection it’s mind blowing to think something could go that far and still have perfect video and controls with no lag whatsoever.
