Descriptive visuals
This is an informative and enlightening book. I recently had to visit a cardiologist and a lung doctor. I brought my book so the doctors could show me where my issues was exactly and how it affects my body functionality. The lung doctor thought this would be an excellent book for her 8 year old inquisitive son, so I bought it for him as a gift, teach our children well!

BUY THIS!!! Phenomenal, fun, detailed text as well as pics.
This is an AMAZING book! My 4th grade 8yo boy LOVES science, especially anatomy. I got this for him for Christmas and wish I had gotten more so that each of my nieces could have one. You know how when you wrap your kids' presents and you get to play with them and check them out? Well this one was the one I spent the most time with. Colorful pages with in depth diagrams and descriptions, this book is absolutely phenomenal. My son hasn't received it yet, but I know it'll be a huge hit for the kid that gives his lunch cookie to his science teacher for teaching him something new. Buy it. Seriously.

So impressed
I homeschool my 8 yr and 3yr old boys. I bought this for our home library, thinking it would be like the smaller DK Eyewitness books, but it is a thick, heavy book, full of great pictures and information. Truly a "visual encyclopedia" as it states on the cover. I am very impressed. We also bought the Nat. Geographic Bug, Space and Animal Encyclopedias, and this is just as big and honestly, better with it's delivery. The Nat Geographic books are "all over the place" with their information and photos, not very organized. Again, a great reference book to have in your library. My kids have this to use as they grow up. Highly recommended.

Our 8 year old grandson LOVES this book. Probably more suitable for slightly older though.
For our incredibly curious grandson, aged 8, he was really happy to get this book and started reading it right away. Ya never, know, maybe he'll grow up to be a doctor.

Great book
I truly like this book. I bought it for my Very Smart grandson who is 12. He found it fascinating as I thought he would. As an RN, I too greatly enjoyed the information and graphics that it provided to an inquisitive boy and a "seasoned" nurse! Do not hesitate to buy this book for anyone including yourself.

Great layout and detail
I was looking for a good Human Anatomy book for my son and daughter and kept finding ones that were to child like and too mature. This one hits all the marks and my kids love it. I has made science/ biology easier to explain and helps curios conversations turn into honest ones, without anyone being uncomfortable. This is a must have for parents with young kids and teens.

Well detailed human body book
We homeschooling and this book is well detailed and easy to teach a kid all about the human body

Clear and concise with excellent illustrations.
I bought this book to take as a gift to a young person (14 years old) in Tanzania who is receiving her education in English but lives in a poor rural area with very limited educational resources. She has ambitions to train as a doctor. I think she will find this Encyclopaedia of great interest and a useful background resource.
