Rat problem? Get these! - Seriously!
First and foremost, Iโve had these bait boxes for a few months. I eventually called in a professional to help me deal with the rat problem I was experiencing. A few things are worth mentioning, and the advice Iโm about to share was backed up by the pest control professional who visited. Firstly, make sure you remove the plastic wrapping from the bait. The bait is designed to release an odour that helps attract rats, and the plastic can prevent this from working effectively. I had these boxes set up for a couple of months, but when the professional opened them during his visit, he found that the bait inside was completely untouched. He explained that the plastic wrapping was likely the reason, so he removed it and placed the boxes back where I had positioned them. Fast forward two weeks, and there were clear signs of gnaw marks where the rats had been feeding on the bait. Although the boxes are fairly small, they have definitely shown signs of activity. The build quality is good, and they feel sturdy. They are also secure, as a key is required to open them, which is an important safety feature. Since removing the plastic from the bait and giving them some time, Iโd say they have worked well. Hopefully Iโm not tempting fate, but I havenโt seen a rat pass through since. My pest control professional actually recommended buying more of the same bait that was used in these boxes. So if this review helps anyone, my advice would be: buy these, remove the plastic wrapping from the bait, and position them along the routes where rats are known to travel. One final tip he gave me was to make sure there is enough clear space around the entrance for the rat to turn around. If they feel restricted and cannot manoeuvre easily, they are much less likely to enter the box. Highly recommended.

Brilliant!!
These are brilliant! This is my 2nd time using them, and both times they've worked. I used them last year when there was a huge rat living by the pond, sure enough the poison disappeared and so did the rat! After spotting another rat the other day I immediately purchased these again, after only 4 days the poison eat been nibbled at and I've not seen any more sightings of the rat. Slightly difficult to open till you get the hang of it, and the poison is kinda hard to open without touching it but it keeps it hidden and means the dogs and child can't get to it

Very Effective
The product definitely works and I would recommend them to anyone else tackling a rat infestation. Since new homes and flats were built on the wasteland behind our house, we have had a massive issue with rats in the area-sheds, houses, compost bins have all been taken over. The council will not assist most of us as we privately own our homes and those that could get free assistance are the ones that refuse to do anything and are where the rats are currently camping out. After trying numerous methods to deter them from visiting with no luck, I decided to give these traps a go. The boxes are secure (I bought the double pack pre-baited boxes) which was a big concern for me as we have cats and other wildlife that do visit. No problems there. The bait has no real odour and were installed already, in a clear plastic bag. (I decided on blocks rather than the pellet-type bait more out of safety for other creatures should any get spilt). For a while there was no impact; no bait taken and no change to the number of rats. I then moved the bait boxes elsewhere and quite soon there was a marked difference in the numbers being seen. YOU MUST LEAVE THE BAIT STATIONS ALONE IN A PLACE KNOWN TO BE A RAT RUN FOR THEM TO WORK - BE PATIENT! It took months for the rats to clear the bait blocks for us so place them on a busy rat run and leave them be. Problem solved for quite some time. We now have rats coming back from a different direction so Iโm going to buy the same brand bait and relocate the boxes ready for round two. The massive rats have long since been seen and now itโs little ones turning up so Iโm guessing itโs a new generation heading out on the hunt for a new home. As a tip and what I will be doing when my refill arrives- I did open the plastic bag covering the bait a bit and I also added in some cat treats to the box. Our local rats were brave and had been entering houses to take cat food so perhaps the bait needed a bit of a boost to compete against Sheba! Either way, after adding treats the bait station definitely was visited more and the poison taken quickly. I placed one trap next to the house in a corner where I store my gardening tools-I knew they ran this way as an escape route. The station to first be emptied was placed along a fence in the shadows directly on a rat run (smooth path along the fence compared to the surrounding soil) and I funnelled them toward the box with logs. Both boxes I weighed down with a brick on top; may not be needed but I wanted to be secure. Also look in grass for a flattened path along structures which is an indication itโs used a lot. Rats are smart and notice change so place the box and leave it alone for them to get used to it. Good luck and this product will no doubt help you

Clean and safe
The boxes are well made and can be put in place as soon as you get them. No prep required. Only issue is the key to open the box is a bit of a faff and doesnโt really work without a bit of force. But you donโt need to open often so I can live with it

This is NOT pet friendly!
Please do NOT buy this item if you have pets. It is sold as pet friendly, but it is definitely not pet friendly. The rats have eaten through the plastic box and have taken out all the poison and the metal spindle too. So now I am worried that there is exposed poison that has been dropped somewhere in my garden for my cat to eat!

Easy to use, and effective.
I have a half-dozen of these in my, quite large garden A couple of tears ago I had a real problem wit rats, and one got into the house (apparantly, they walk in through an open door. It brought a few of it's friends to my garage as well. As my neighbour said: "you can gey rid of them inside, but they are still outside" Putting the boxes alongside fences and walls on the boundaries orinall left me with a couple of dead ones (double bag and bin). No sign of one for a long time, but the bait is still being taken ....

Rats box with poison. It works
Rats loved it. So much the ate it all! Then died in the single storey loft space. Then started to smell. One job causes another. And away rats......!

As expected
Assume these work. Bought because I had a mouse who avoided humane traps. Used as a last resort. Not the nicest but I think it works unfortunately.
