Outstanding alternative to the leading brand and a challenging build
I'm a huge, huge fan of block-based kits, and have a vast number of high-quality, premium sets from the original inventors, LEGO, especially Technic and the Mindstorms ones, so was deeply curious to see how this budget alternative from a different 3rd party manufacturer actually holds up. My first impression was of good quality plastic. It's strong, cleanly moulded with no sharp edges and there was a lot of it. You get a truly huge amount of very varied blocks for your for your money. In use I did find that the all-important small black connectors varied slightly in size. Some were a bit loose and none were very snug, but aside from that one bugbear the parts quality is top-notch. Assembling the models was where the difference became apparent. The instruction images are very small, and the printing isn't quite good enough for that tiny size, so I did find myself scratching my head at times trying to figure out what piece I was looking for and the build-sequence wasn't quite as well-thought out as what I'm used to either. It's still all good-enough, but best suited to someone who likes puzzles more than someone who want to just follow instructions and build something. The models themselves use an extraordinarily varied number of parts. There's a sense that the designers have just gone wild, using whatever they have to hand. The plus side of this is that if you decide to make your own models you really are spoilt for choice in parts. The down side, again, is that assembling their designs is a little overwhelming and confusing at times. The remote control unit is superb. It 'just works'. No need to pair or link or mess about just plug in and go. And being USB-C rechargeable is perfect. It's also quite powerful and the motors turn fast and with confidence. Overall this kit punches far, far above it's weight. The models themselves and build-instructions may not be quite as good as the leading brand but this is completely outweighed by the massive variety of pieces. I wouldn't recommend this for younger children, but if you want a kit to challenge a creative mind and keep them entertained and engaged this ticks the boxes brilliantly.

Nice building activity
This comes nicely presented in a colourful box. The currently selling price is just over £30. It has over 500 pieces to build you remote controlled robot which may require adult support depending on age. I would say suitable for 3+ (with support). Maybe more age 8 without adult support. Once built, you can use the remote control to control the robot. It comes with rechargeable batteries which give you a good length of time to play before running out. Would make a lovely Christmas gift. I would recommend this.

A fantastic project for children and, grown-ups
Fell in love with this when it became available on the Vine programme. Husband and I are huge fans of Wall-E which is just who the little robot on the front resembles. The plan was for my husband to make it up but, we had our 9 year old nephew visiting and decided to save it to assemble with him. The kit is comprehensive and, you do not just have to make up the robot as shown, there are alternatives but, this is the one we liked and, constructed. The instructions are detailed and clear. Once put together, it is straightforward to get the remote to work and, there is no need to scrabble around for batteries as this is rechargeable but, you do need batteries for the remote control AAA. The remote also connects up to Bluetooth and, you don't have to download any apps and register, you just watch it go. This is a wonderful gift for children and adults - that way inclined - alike BUT, one proviso, if your child is not into building/creating and, more into sport, then it might not be the right gift. The building takes time and patience and, to be fair, our nephew struggled a bit but, then again, he was never even into Lego. It was my husband and his brother who excelled at the task of putting it together. I am not sure this is practical for a 3 year old unless they are brilliant and have a leaning towards creating things - albeit, 3 is a great age to get a child started on something like this. So, a wonderful gift and at the currently advertised price of £30 for what you get and the fun you have afterwards with the little Wall-E whizzing round plus the satisfaction that you get it putting it together. It's also the sort of gift that could get the whole family bonding together. Highly recommend.

Great for older kids
This robot building toy is great for older kids. There are various designs to choose from in this set, and it will definitely keep the kids occupied for a while. There are good instructions with this, and given the number of pieces they are needed but they are really clear and easy to understand. The parts are well made leaving a good quality structure at the end of it. The battery for the unit are rechargeable which is great (though you need to get batteries for the remote control) and can also be controlled using an app. Would make a great gift.

lego dupe toy
If you love building Legos this toys is a great substitute, there’s so many pieces and parts I don’t think it’s suitable for children below the age of 10. as they would need help from an adult.
