I lost the mold to make the ice, any ideas where to buy one?

Go to Amazon and I am pretty sure they sell just the molds or contact Cirrus directly.

Does the aluminum construction cause the ice spheres that you make taste like metal?

Not at all. The aluminum is anodized which is a process to basically create a thin glass layer on the metal.

Do you have to freeze an ice block first? I am looking for something that I put water in and it quickly makes an ice ball. Is this the product for me?

Yes, you freeze an ice block first before placing that ice block into the Cirrus Press. The press will then melt away the excess ice from the block leaving a perfect sphere of ice.

Can bath bombs be made too?

I wouldn’t use something that you are going to put in your drink - to make a soap product. That’s just me.

Great for cocktails.

While it is expensive the ice spheres turn out perfect each time. If you are into cocktails enough to consider this make sure to get the kit. Also, ice melts very slowly. Even compared to large cubed ice or other sphere ice from molds. Really is a game changer for classic cocktails.

Work of art in a sphere

The Cirrus press looks amazing, and does amazing things. It's hard to miss sitting on the counter and is an instant conversation starter; really has been a great ice breaker (no pun intended) for gatherings at home. A friend had the Macallan version and I saw the cirrus ice ball maker while doing a little research. Pricey? Yes, but I'm happy with the purchase. Now excuse me while I go enjoy the rest of my delicious whiskey.
