Rokid Max AR2 Glasses First Impressions. Very impressive and worth the investment
My first impressions of the Rokid Max 2 AR Glasses. Why I purchased the Rokid Max 2 is because it is designed to deliver a high-quality augmented reality experience, so I would like to highlight what I think makes it stand out. Key Features of the Rokid Max 2 AR Glasses High-Resolution Display: The Rokid Max 2 features a 1080p resolution per eye, which is pretty impressive for AR glasses, in my experience it has crisp, clear visuals that do not disappoint. The glasses also offer a 53° field of view, which is great for immersion. While there are other options with a higher degree field of view I found this to be more that adequate. Immersive AR Experience: The glasses are designed for an immersive AR experience, letting you interact with virtual content overlaid in your real-world environment. It is refreshing and in my opinion blends nicely between the two. I found It’s great for any media consumption like YouTube and other streaming services, gaming, and productivity which I plan to use a lot for work situations. Portable and Lightweight Design: Unlike some other AR glasses that can feel bulky, the Rokid Max 2 is relatively lightweight, I think making it more comfortable for long periods of use. Its sleek, modern design looks less like “tech goggles” and more like a stylish wearable. I feel a valuable advantage when comparing to Meta or Apple products. Compatibility with Multiple Devices: It supports both Android and iOS devices, and it also has USB-C connectivity, making it versatile across multiple platforms. It’s compatible with smartphones, tablets, and even some PCs, giving users lots of flexibility. I have tested it with my iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPad Pro, and MacBook with impressive results. Large Screen Projection: One of the key selling points is the ability to project a massive virtual screen—equivalent to a 120-inch display at a distance of 4 meters. This makes it ideal for watching movies or playing games on the go. I have yet to travel with it, but plan to next week. Privacy & Portability: Being able to experience a large virtual display in a relatively small pair of glasses gives the user a private, immersive experience wherever they are. This will fit nicely in your backpack to complement other gadgets I have to work with this like a compact travel keyboard and mouse. Audio Integration: The Rokid Max 2 comes with built-in speakers, eliminating the need for separate headphones. This is great for watching media, though you might still prefer to use your own high-quality audio gear for specific situations. For me, I have tried both my over the ear Sonys and newest AirPods Pro 3 that are much better but good to know you have a decent stand alone option and found the audio from the glasses to be good enough for most situations. Albeit not as private so prefer my own headphones in a public place like a coffee shop. Simple Setup: No complicated installation or setup process—just plug in, and you’re good to go. That’s a big plus for people who want a plug-and-play AR experience. So in summary, do I feel this is a worthwhile investment with so many new products coming to market. I do however feel the Rokid’s are best for enjoying content and I have a kickstarter order in for the AR glasses and is really for a different use case. So if you are like me, I always will choose the best tool for the job. I feel these Max 2 ARs are very much worth the investment with little trade off to more expensive modules and packs a lot of value for the price.

Great product. Not for me.
Fun device, but definitely something that is and wasn’t apart of my use case. I’m unsure if I’d purchase another.

Near perfection
I love these glasses. My only complaint is that the usb c cable where it attaches to the arm on the left side is coming apart. Otherwise these glasses are very nice for watching videos on my iPad.

The cable connecting the glasses is way too short
These are extremely fragile don’t believe the description here or on their Webdite. Is like wearing really heavy uncomfortable glasses that just won’t stay in the exact position it needs to be otherwise you start noticing different blurry areas in the screen and others areas. The provided cable is short so in order to wach, movies play PS5 they have to be really close to your eyes and don’t sit conofortably. Of course mine stopped working after couple of months even thou I was just using them to play ps5 mostly on weekends. Tried working with them on the gurrantg and all I got is a $30 credit to buy towards a new pair. That was my second pair and my last never buying anything else from these people .

It’s just not there yet, especially for the price.
I returned it the day I got it. Here’s why: I was looking for an XR interface that would allow me to connect to my phone and laptop for productivity. I’m an office worker and software engineer, and I wanted something to help bring my visual interfaces in the space around me so I could work sitting or being anywhere. For what these glasses ended up being, I would’ve paid $199, maybe even just $99 for what it did. First off, it did NOT work at all on my iPhone Air, supposedly only earlier iPhone models. It worked on my laptop, but ultimately it was just a oled screen that was affixed to where your head was, and the screen moves as you move your head: it does NOT stay fixed where you want. I think I read it needed the spatial computing unit which again is just not worth the price yet. It was pretty comfortable wearing, however the bulky part of the glasses that sits against the forehead gets very, very hot and that was not fun. 2 stars because I think this technology is heading in the right direction, but this was absolutely not worth the price. Still SO much work to be done.

The future is here
Great for IT/programming work when connected to my Windows computer. I use the ROKID Max 2 glasses almost exclusively at my office now instead of a monitor. I also used them when traveling connected to a Samsung Galaxy Flip 7 with movies downloaded from Netflix and Amazon Prime and it was the best movie-watching experience I've ever had on a plane. It was like sitting in my living room watching a big screen TV. The diopter adjustment allows me to see clearly without prescription lenses. This is truly the future.

Fine for media, not as a monitor replacement
I really wanted these to work out. I was hoping to use them as virtual screens for coding and while the screens themselves seem pretty high quality their significant focus drop off on the edges which makes it difficult, I could just never lock in. I think for media like watching movies, YouTube etc it's probably fine but it didn't work for what I needed.

Great and comfortable product!!
The Rokid Max2 AR glasses perform well in terms of compatibility. I’ve connected them to my phone, laptop, and gaming consoles without any major issues. They easily pair with devices like PS4/PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Steam Deck, providing solid visuals across the board. For users who switch between multiple devices, the Max2 offers a relatively smooth experience. The connection process is straightforward, and the visuals are generally clear and stable, with the 215-inch virtual screen providing an immersive experience. Overall, if you use various devices, the Max2 seems to offer a good, consistent AR experience.
