POSITIVE UPDATE - Disconnects often. Dex does not find the device.
Below this is my initial review. I'm happy to say it no longer applies to this product! After a software update, the unit functions perfectly as intended. This is an insanely cool product, and as far as I know the only one of it's kind. Not only is this a solid wireless android auto adapter, but dex in your car?! So cool. Connection works, audio works, doesn't disconnect. Looks like this issues have been resolved, but don't stop improving! Keep the updates coming. 5 Stars all the way. Well done. ________________________________________________________________________________________ I want to preface this review by saying I work in IT, have been rooting and flashing roms on android phones since the original droid, and am no slouch when it comes to tech, so this is not a case of user error. Dang. This would have been AWESOME if it had worked. I don't even care that the icons are small and the screen is a little distorted. The fact that you have a full DEX in your car would have been great. However, too good to be true. -Disconnects every 30 seconds or so. Making it completely unusable. -After update, could not even discover via dex -SLOW (again, wouldn't have care, if it has stayed connected) -Audio did not work. Again, amazing IDEA, but unfortunately it's just a prototype that isn't ready for the real world. Can't wait until they get this to work, I'll be first in line for the working model, but this ain't it. Wait another year or so and maybe they'll have a solid release, and HOPEFULLY some competition. The tech is clearly possible, just not even close to ready for a wide release. 2 stars because even though it didn't work, it's a cool idea I hope gets fleshed out.

Wireless AA stopped working.
Mine used to work daily until Android UI 7 came out for my S21. I did a factory reset on AutoX, the phone, and the radio head unit. I even tried the older firmware for the AutoX as well. From what I gather, the issue is the way AutoX passes the WiFi code via Bluetooth. It never makes it to connect and manually connecting just prompts for wifi password. Since then, I've upgraded to an S25 Ultra and still wasn't able to get wireless AA to work. However Dex works just fine there. But I don't want to keep plugging in the AutoX just to use Dex. Support wasn't useful to me either. I get no response.

A Game-Changer for In-Car Entertainment and Connectivity
I’ve been using the AutoPro X Android Auto Wireless Adapter for a few weeks now, and it has completely transformed my driving experience. From seamless connectivity to in-car streaming, this device delivers on every promise it makes. Setup and Compatibility: Setting up the adapter was incredibly simple. It connected effortlessly to my car’s head unit and paired with my Android device without any issues. The adapter works flawlessly with Android Auto and Samsung DeX, offering broad compatibility with various car models and smartphones. Wireless Performance: The wireless connection is rock-solid. Unlike some adapters that lag or drop signals, the AutoPro X provides a stable and responsive connection. Navigating with Google Maps and streaming music is smooth and without interruptions. Streaming Features: This adapter truly shines with its streaming capabilities. Being able to watch YouTube and Netflix in the car (when parked, of course!) is a fantastic feature for road trips and downtime. The interface is intuitive, and the video quality is excellent, with no noticeable buffering or lag. Samsung DeX Support: As a Samsung user, I love the integration with Samsung DeX. It allows me to access my apps and files on a larger screen, which is perfect for staying productive on the go. This feature is a must-have for professionals who are always on the move. Compact and Convenient Design: The device itself is compact and discreet, blending seamlessly into my car’s setup. No messy wires or bulky hardware – just plug it in and forget about it. Versatility and Value: Whether you need wireless Android Auto for hands-free convenience, streaming for entertainment, or Samsung DeX for productivity, the AutoPro X does it all. For its price, it offers exceptional value and versatility. Final Thoughts: The AutoPro X Android Auto Wireless Adapter is a must-have for anyone looking to upgrade their in-car experience. It combines convenience, entertainment, and productivity in a sleek package. If you’re tired of plugging in cables every time you get in the car or want to unlock your car’s full potential, this device is your perfect road companion. Highly recommended!

It's not perfect. But it's still amazing.
Does what it says it does. Though somewhat clunky to use and causes more time connecting to it to start driving each time. Even if auto connect it enabled on your phone. You still have to turn on Dex each time and then the Auto Connect works. It's not good for gaming as the wireless connection causes input delay. It's great for other stuff you want to do on your vehicle's screen that you normally wouldn't be able to. I still think it's worth the price. Just be extra careful using it while driving.

Premium Build, but Software "Wizardry" Required
Vehicle: 2018 Honda Fit EX Phone: Samsung Galaxy S22+ (Android 16) I purchased the AutoPro X primarily to gain the convenience of wireless connectivity while freeing up my car's low-output (1A) USB port so I could use a dedicated fast charger for my S22+. While the hardware feels like a premium, product, the setup process and software reliability were significant hurdles for me. Despite the impressive speed of the connection once established, I have decided to return the unit due to persistent issues with the device Samsung DeX mode. The Setup Experience (The Cons) Getting the device running was not intuitive and required about a bit of troubleshooting. Initial Compatibility: Upon first plug-in, my Honda head unit threw a "Device not compatible" error. It required downloading the companion app and performing a firmware update before the car would even recognize the AutoPro X as an Android Auto source. Connectivity Struggles: The initial pairing was a headache. My phone struggled to "see" the device via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi initially, leading to several failed pairing cycles and hardware power-cycles. It took a significant amount of time before the unit was ready to use. DeX Mode Issues: The standout feature—Samsung DeX—has been unusable for me. The device consistently rejects or fails to maintain the specific Bluetooth connection required for DeX, which was a primary selling point for my specific needs. Performance (The Pros) It isn't all bad news; when the device works, it performs exceptionally well: Build Quality: Out of the box, this feels like a high-end piece of tech. The unboxing experience and the physical weight/texture of the device are far superior to other plastic-feeling adapters on the market. Sound quality is good as well, Connection Speed: Surprisingly, once the initial "growing pains" of setup were over, the boot time into Android Auto is incredibly fast. It bypasses the standard lag I’ve seen in other wireless adapters. even if its via wifi or wizardry because it certainly isn't working via Bluetooth for me. The AutoPro X is clearly a high-quality piece of hardware, but the software experience isn't "one size fits all" yet. If you are looking for a seamless, 5-minute setup, you may find this frustrating. Because I couldn't get the advertised DeX functionality to work reliably with my phone or car, I will be returning the unit. It has great potential, but it wasn't the right fit for my 2018 Honda.

You need an Engineering degree to figure it out
Extremely disapointed in the product. Great potential, but right off the bat you have to do several firmware updated just for it to even be recognized. Then it keeps disconnecting. If I use the Android Auto feature, then I cannot listen to regular radio. Using Dex is a pain on its own. You have to tell it to connect every time, icons are tiny even when you set the setting to large. My $25 wireless Android Auto is less hassle and works much better. I have ereturned this product.

Makes your car that much better for all you Samsung phone owners!
I used to have to plug my phone directly into my truck ('20 Silverado) to operate Android Auto, so I searched for a wireless adaptor and came across AutoPro X. Not only can I connect to Android Auto wirelessly, but as a Samsung phone owner, the dongle allows you to turn your vehicle's infotainment screen into a literally functioning tablet via Dex! Surprisingly, the touch accuracy is pretty spot on which allows you to operate Dex with only your fingers. I can access any app (Prime Video, YouTube, YouTubeTV, Netflix, etc.) to display on my infotainment screen! It makes for those times waiting for the kids in the carpool line that much more enjoyable. The install was easy and pretty much seamless as there is an app that aids you setting up your device as well as a support I found online from the creators. If you have a Samsung phone and know the power of Dex, this dongle brings that power straight to your vehicle's infotainment screen! I would reccomend a 90° USB-C male to female adapter for a cleaner install like my photo. It keeps the dongle's wire more organized. The only gripe I have early on is the connection speed for the initial boot... For Android Auto, it takes about 20 seconds for connectivity to start and the same for Dex, but after that, it's fantastic.

Doesn't work
I've been trying to get this to work for over a month, but it's useless. I've followed the troubleshooting, updated it, wiped my cars settings, wiped my phone settings, etc. My phone says it's trying to connect to android auto, but it never launches. The AutoPro X never sends anything to my cars display. I'm very dissaponted and am apparently past the return window so I can't return it.
