What are the dimensions of the rack? I think the ones listed are the package because 24" width doesn't make sense. Thanks!

You are correct, this rack is 36" wide, 30" tall, and 13.25" deep.

Can a violin case fit on this stand without touching the floor? I have an oblong case and a half moon shaped violin cases.

Full sized violin cases fit perfectly, any other size is too small. Half moon or oblong cases might not be wide enough to sit on the rack without touching the floor, but can still easily stay upright without falling over

will dulcimers fit on this rack?

I have my dulcimer in the case on my rack now. I also have mandolins, and CBGs. They fit nicely. Blessings! :)

Can you tell me the outside dementions Height, weight and depth?

Height: 30"; Depth: 14" (Distance between two wooden base pieces is about 10"; however, there is a foot-piece in the back--hard to see in the photo--that extends the depth to 14". If you plan to put the rack against a wall, you will need about 17" of depth clearance so the tops of the cases will not hit or mark up the wall.) Don't know weight as my cases are on it, but it is lightweight enough to carry easily, and sturdy enough to support the instruments well. I love mine!
