Some say RD Sharma is the "Gold standard" of maths textbook. They are well presented and topics well covered. However, I note that RD Sharma caters more for their local Indian market more than overseas. For instance, currency in the exercises are in Indian rupees. It may be difficult for Australian students to relate to an exercise where it says, "One pencil costs Rs 160 and a box of pencils costs Rs 1,500." Whereas, a box of pencils in Australia costs only a few dollars.
