STONETECH® Bulletproof® Sealer, 1 Quart/32 Oz

Treated my two bath sinks and kitchen counters, all granite. Easy to apply, piece of cake. Use flood coat technique. Just keep the counter wet for 20 minutes (I went a half hour) using a cheap, small paint pad. Every time you see a spot dry, whip the pad over it, that's all. As time passes the counter will tend to stay wet, that means the the granite has absorbed all it can (which is what you want). Then wipe dry with paper towels. Done. No stink, no nasty solvent smells, but I kept the exhaust fans running. So far so good; actually, I can't tell it's on there, totally clear, does not change the patina of the counter color (which is good). [UPDATE]: December 2015: water still beads up on the counters, no stains, great shine. I think that the folks having problems are not following proper procedure; just do what I did and you will have good results on granite (I can't verify other types of materials). [UPDATE]: February 2018: water still beads up, there is still no staining of any kind on the counters/sinks. I use a little Windex once weekly to clean, and the shine comes up like they were new. I think this summer I will give it another quick coat, just for normal maintenance. Probably no one will read this because my first post is old, but thought I would post anyway :)

Having completed a master bathroom remodel within the last month, I have been looking for a product that I could apply to our granite counters and shower tile for water protection. This stuff did the trick. It went on easily. I applied it to the granite counter top, and it seemed like the granite already came presealed, so not much absorption took place. Then I applied it to our natural stone tile on the shower floor. This stuff went right in. I gave it 3 coats just to be sure that enough was applied. After the first shower, it looked like the water was bouncing off of the floor like rain is repelled from a newly waxed car. I had some leftover floor tile that I just had to go back to and experiment on to see if the natural stone tile had some water repellent abilitles already. Sure enough, the untreated natural tile soaked up the water. I couldn't believe it. Because this product goes on so quickly, I am going to apply this to other areas of the house that might benefit from some sealer. Just to note also, I used an expoy grout in the floor tile and this stuff sealed that in perfectly as well. I know it is a bit pricy, but it is well worth it in the long run. Because there is so much of it here, it isn't a bad idea to see if family or friends have a need for it as well. They'll thank you for it!

I mean, I’m not going to deliberately spill something on the finished surface to see how well it works, now am I? I used this to seal a hearthstone (not a countertop). I picked it after reading a lot of reviews of sealers on Amazon. I followed the directions and made sure that it stayed wet for 10-15 minutes, to allow the sealer to soak in. After reading all the reviews, I was worried about the blemishes and cloudiness that some reviewers wrote about - but I saw nothing of the kind. At the end of the application time, I wiped it down with freshly laundered white sackcloth towels. It dried evenly, and looks good - not shiny (we definitely didn’t want glossy). Before using it on the hearthstone, I “experimented” by applying it to a small section of a marble table top (I flipped the top over and applied it to the underside) and also to an inconspicuous area on the side of the hearthstone, to see how it flowed during application, and to see if there would be any change to the color of the stone once the sealer dried (answer is “none”). That helped me be more confident when it came time to brushing the sealer on the top, wide area of the expensive, extremely heavy and hard to replace hearthstone. While I expect someday some with a glass of red wine is going to trip and spill it on the hearthstone, I’m not going to tempt fate and deliberately spill something on it, so I can’t actually say anything about that. Also just FYI, the directions for the product say to re-apply it in something like 3 -5 years. Not sure I’m going to remember to do that. Finally - it had virtually no smell at all, so that was a big plus.

I was recommended this product by several online forums for sealing granite countertops, since I had noticed in my new home that water stains were appearing quite easily on light countertops in three bathrooms. The product was easy to apply and the instructions were clear. The product has a water-like consistency. I used foam paint brushes for application - a large one for the open areas and a small one for the tight spaces around the faucet and the edges of the countertop. The process took a couple of hours in total for a large kitchen countertop and three bathrooms. I still notice temporary water staining on the bathroom countertops which are light in color. The kitchen countertop is darker so I'm unsure on the effectiveness for that. I certainly *feel* like I did something by applying this, but I don't feel like the results are phenomenal. I'll probably continue to use this product every couple of years even if it's just for the peace of mind.

Used to seal honed Alabama White Marble. I purchased just one quart to seal entire countertop, island and backsplash behind range. I have approx. 3 slabs worth at about 165 sq feet. I have marble everywhere. Marble came sealed from the warehouse but I was told by another fabricator who quoted my job to use this product after it was installed. I poured the product in a small plastic cup and used a cheap brush to brush it on. You do not have to worry about this leaving an overlap marks so work in small, manageable sections. Overlap is ok, The marble will only soak up so much. When I first started, I was working in large seam to seam sections and I couldn't keep up with the absorption. By the time I had worked to the end, the beginning was almost dry/absorbed. 2nd coat I went in smaller sections and was able to keep it wet. I did my whole kitchen rather quickly. It's been 2 months and I don't have any stains. I've spilled some stain worthy foods (red wine, yellow mustard, turmeric, bbq sauce, etc) and although they etch the marble, no stain is present. I have two small children who I want to live on this marble and I don't want to have to always say "No, don't do that". I love the etching as they are starting to blend together but I don't want staining. I have a baking section where I roll butter pastry directly on the marble. I know over the years this area will take a darker hue from the oils so I will probably seal this section more often than the other counters that don't see this much use. This product is so easy to use that I could literally seal a section of countertop in just a few minutes. Will purchase again. UPDATE: September 2020- time for another coat of sealer as liquids not beading up anymore. We have been very harsh to our marble, cleaning with diluted bleach spray and multipurpose Mrs. Meyers spray cleaners. Reordered this same product as we have not had any staining in 2 years.

I bought this because of various online positive reviews. I did not last as long as Aqua Mix. Wouldn’t buy again.

I love this product. Easy to use with directions. I applied to coats as suggested. I did the test after a few months. And the water still beads on top. Which means it’s still protecting my granite.

After much research, I settled on this product. It was recommended by the installation team, also. I used it on newly installed granite and quartzite. The granite was more porous than the quartzite and would darken when wetted with water. The quartzite did not darken with the water test, but I sealed it anyway. I followed the directions exactly and am very pleased with the results. First, I thoroughly cleaned (buffed hard) all surfaces with a damp (water only) cloth and razor blade for the occasional silicon smudge and let dry. Surfaces were smooth to the touch. The key is definitely to keep the surface wet and shiny with sealer during the entire 15 minutes, so you have to do smaller manageable areas at a time. I used a 4” paint brush and kept moving QUICKLY, so nothing would dry, moistening as needed. You can feel a slight drag through the brush, if things are starting to dry. If that happens you’re not keeping it wet enough. The other VERY important trick is to QUICKLY dry the surface with your clean rags.. I used a wad of paper towel on about one third of the wet surface (at a time) to quickly absorb the liquid and immediately buffed (hard and fast) with a clean dry rag. FAST FAST FAST is the key. After that, I buffed thoroughly with a microfiber cloth and I still ended up with a few small streaks. For those I used my paper towels which were still wet with sealer, rubbed out the streaks and QUICKLY buffed the area dry with my micro fiber cloth. The streaks were gone and the entire surface was noticeably shinier and smooth to the touch. Water does not darken the granite. The quartzite shines and is a smooth as glass. Very happy with my results. Anyone who says this doesn’t work (streaking, no shine) on granite and quartzite is either doing it wrong or has dirty stone, or using it for the wrong application. Would I use this again? Absolutely!

I bought a marble table and it was getting etched with lemon juice and red wine. I decided to try this bullet proof sealer and not only did it hide the previous etched flaws, but it appears to have given it a nice protected shiny coat. At first it didn’t look like it was going to take as I already had a shiny coat on top, however, as that was getting etched, I wanted to try anyway. You do need to keep it wet and follow the directions very closely. I did two coats within a half an hour of each other and then let it set for 72 hours. I’m very pleased. I also tried it on my Marble Floor, I only did a few tiles in case it was slippery. It didn’t appear to give them any shine, which I was hoping it would, but it also didn’t appear to make them slippery, bonus.

Used this on white grout in our bathroom. Doesn’t work great, but definitely helps. We try very hard to avoid dirt, even water, on our bathroom grout- obviously never achieving that entirely. After about 8 months they’re greying again. But it does make cleaning the grout easier, just need to do it regularly.
