XTOOL IP500 for BMW OBD2 Scanner, Full Systems Bidirectional Scan Tool

Only scanned 3 vehicles so far. This unit will do 95 percent of the functions for BMW of my scanners that cost 8 times more. This unit is not wireless, so it connects faster and powers the scanner. The more expensive units have to boot up and connect via bluetooth or wifi. I will update as I get more vehicles to scan. Easy to use and fast. You save because you ate not paying for vehicles you don't have. My updates for the top of the line scanners I have cost 3-4 times the cost of this unit. So you get a tool that will diagnose and give bi directional control to troubleshoot any problems. Plus you have xtool support, which has not let me down. Just send a message and they will get back to you. I have several Xtool scanners, best bang for the buck. UPDATE 2017 X5 turbo wastegate install, Has service position for motors to remove and install, plus test and calibration. Way more service options then Autel Ultra scan for BMW vehicles, plus costs less then most scanners yearly update fees. BMW owners and mechanics don't pass this one up. Will let you use all the cars built in service functions.

Now this is an amazing tool for BMW owners it has everything. Very good quality very through instructions on screen. Accuracy is spot on. You can even code with this tool. You can recalibrate fuel injector reset oil register new battery, bleed brakes I mean the list goes on. You can customize what setting you want. Very satisfied.

It dose not work with what I needed it for.. It dose not do crankshaft sensor relearn on my bmw 328i. Like it says

Some of the wording is confusing as you're clearing or cycling between options but it works well, narrowed down my issues which I was than able to fix... it paid for itself first time using it... consider a garage is $150/hr

I used it several times on used BMWs. Worked great right out of the box. Just connect the cable from the OBD2 scanner to the car port and press auto scan to find any trouble codes. Easy and simple to use. Pretty durable and made to withstand tough job environment. The rugged rubber cover protects the exterior case of the tool. There is also live monitoring graphs feature so the problems can be diagnosed and pinpointed further. If you are looking for more advanced features like a professional mechanic at a dealership, this probably isn’t it but for basic scans and features, this will be hard to beat for the value.

Does everything you need for a 2010 328I xdrive, i bought this to relearn transfer case motor change and oil change, i realized the transfer case was bad after the tool kept giving me an error saying that it cant relearn due to a failure. Come to find out the clutch plates welded together and the motor couldn't adapt. Saved me a lot of time before i had to drop the exhaust. Also when replacing a window regulator with an aftermarket one, you must relearn the window limits which this scanner can do also.

The scanner is not what it is advertised as. It says it completes the task, but it really does nothing. And apparently you have to buy a subscription for it past a free trial. Would gladly return but apparently it's outside of the return window. Was waiting for parts to arrive to complete maintenance. I'm definitely going to look for another scan tool for completing maintenance. Do not recommend this one.

Good for one car

Man kann im Video gut die Kommunikationsgeschwindigkeit sehen, einfach nur unglaublich. Nach kurzem Kontakt zum Support wurde mir schnell geholfen und das komplette Gerät samt allen Funktionen auf Deutsch gestellt. Die Übersetzung ist nicht perfekt, aber zu 95 %bin fast fehlerfrei. Das Gerät wird ein Leben lang mit Updates versorgt, und ich konnte fast jede Funktion an verschiedensten BMW-Modellen ausgiebig testen, sowohl an meinem eigenen als auch an denen von Familie und Freundeskreis. Das Anlernen der Batterie, das Öffnen der Bremse sowie das Codieren der Einspritzdüsen liefen dabei problemlos, ebenso wie zahlreiche weitere Spezialfunktionen. Mit gutem Gewissen kann ich das Gerät daher weiterempfehlen und jedem ans Herz legen. Einfach nur Spitzenklasse und ganz großes Kino. Wichtig zu wissen: Das Gerät gibt es in drei verschiedenen Werksausführungen, deshalb sollte beim Kauf unbedingt darauf geachtet werden, welche Ausführung man wählt. Mein getestetes Modell trägt die Bezeichnung IP500-BMR und ist werksseitig auf BMW, Mini und Rolls-Royce eingestellt. Im Store lassen sich zusätzlich folgende Markenpakete dazukaufen, jeweils für 60 €/Jahr aktiv, danach fällt das Gerät wieder auf die werksseitig hinterlegten Marken zurück: • Nissan/infiniti/gtr • Honda/Acura • FordUs/FordEu/FordAu • Buick/Chevrolet/Cadillac/GMC/Holden/Hummer • Pontiac/Saturn • Hyundai/Kia • Toyota/Scion/Lexus • Chrysler/Jeep Werden mehrere Marken in einer Zeile genannt, gehören sie zum Umfang einer einzigen Kaufoption. Great scanner, I tried it on BMW 1 series and could find out why it couldn't regenerate the DPF filter. The pump is blocked and the coolant keeps the temperature low, it found also some others issues that need to be fixed. I think for the price it's the best choice for who likes to fix things by it's own not only for the mechanics

This is a must have tool for anyone with an older BMW. Small and compact, it easily can be stored in the trunk to get you out of problematic electrical faults. Specific to the E63/E64, codes causing in operation of the convertible top are easily cleared for reset and operation. Service codes cleared in seconds. Simple intuitive operation.
