#1.  Yes, insert and remove several times to remove any oxidation.  #2.  On a cpu, soak in 90+% isopropyl alcohol for 30 minutes.  Then use an acid brush to clean.  Dry throughly.  #3.  Fans should be cleaned with compressed air, don't let the rotor spin up real fast during this process.  Don't put any oil or water in a fan to clean it.   Originally deoxit was developed to recondition potentiometers and switches.  For that application it is hands down the best you can get.

Yes, you can use this anywhere you have electrical contact surfaces.
Spray some Deoxit into the female slot, and gently insert and remove the memory card several times to clean the contacts. That should do it.
If the contact surfaces are exceptionally dull, or corroded, then you can try this old trick to clean them up:
Use the eraser of a No.2 pencil to get the contacts to shine again. DO NOT use an ink eraser! That would be too abrasive. Gently rub the contacts with the pencil eraser until they clean up, then blow any debris out with compressed air, and follow the method described above with the Deoxit. That should do it.

Is this product safe for plastics? i intend to clean pots on a ‘62 fender twin reverb guitar amplifier, as well as a ‘83 nad stereo receiver
