Excellent Value and Quality for the Price!
Please let me start out by first addressing the critical reviews here which complain about the fact that this set is made with faux leather, lower-grade hardware, less precise stitching, cheaper plastic checkers, etc.... If you expect real leather, heavy high-quality checkers, precision dice, and an overall "luxury" backgammon board for under $150, then you, my friend, are delusional! Despite the product listing title that is - like a lot of products on Amazon - jammed full of buzzwords designed to grab your attention and sell things to you, this is NOT a "premium" backgammon set. Real "premium" or "luxury" backgammon sets (from brands like FTH, Crisloid, Zaza & Sacci, P-40, Hector Saxe, etc.) run in the range of many hundreds to *thousands* of dollars. That being said, this is still an excellent entry-level, budget-friendly, and attractive tournament-sized board that can serve quite nicely for casual games, local club play, family time, and even beginner or intermediate-level tournament play. Yes, the "leather" is PU faux stuff, but that means that you won't need to worry so much about possible spills or stains when you bring it along to your monthly local club meetup at the bar down the street. Yes, the checkers are made of lightweight, cheaper acrylic compared to the high-end stuff, but they still look really cool, and you won't need to worry about your kids carelessly chucking them around as you attempt to teach them how to play. No, the dice aren't "precision," but that honestly doesn't really make a real mathematical difference anyway in the long run, so unless you're playing in a tournament with strict rules about 'em, who cares? :P The playing surface of this board looks and feels quite nice, and while the checkers don't slide on it quite like air hockey pucks, they still slide easily enough for a satisfying sense of movement. The points are even and symmetrical, and I really like the deep green color of the field. The doubling cube, dice, and checkers all have a cool "marble-ish" appearance to them which I enjoy, and while I typically prefer cylindrical dice cups, the oval-style cups included with this board still work just fine. The overall size, weight, design, and price are all great for the type of board that you can grab on a whim to take along to the picnic, to your casual club nights, or to a family get-together, or just a few feet over to the coffee table, without nearly as much concern about "protecting your premium investment" or whatever that you might have with a more expensive board. I happen to own a much more expensive, larger, heavier "premium" tournament board that I absolutely love to play on, but there are lots of times when I'd prefer to just "go casual" with it and not have to worry so much about potential damage to my high-end board. This Pointworks board is a terrific option for that, while also still being plenty good enough to bump it up to "business casual" for lower-level tournies and such if need be. I imagine that it should last a good long time as well, as long as it's not treated roughly. All in all, I'm honestly impressed with it for the price! My one criticism of this set is an admittedly nitpicky gripe about the included rules pamphlet. It does present the basic rules of backgammon in a fairly concise and straightforward way, albeit with poor punctuation and grammar in spots (probably translation errors), but for as long as I've been playing the game, and in as many books as I've read and videos I've watched, NO ONE refers to the triangles on the board as "pips." They are called "points." The term "pips" refers to either the value of your dice roll, or the number of moves that your checkers need to travel in order to bear off from the board. Think of it like walking along a path of stepping stones. The pips are like the number of steps that you take along the path, while the points are like the stones on which you're walking. You don't refer to the stones themselves as "steps," and similarly, you don't refer to the points as "pips." Each player starts the game with a "pip count" of 167, meaning that each player's 15 checkers need to move a cumulative total of 167 pips, or individual steps, for all of them to be borne off. Rolling a 5-3, for example, would allow you to move one or two checkers a total of 8 pips, taking your pip count down to 159, and so on throughout the game (hence why the pip count is handy for keeping track of who's "winning the race").

Best Backgammon set I have owned. The value, appearance, and fun are “Top Shelf”.
I love this backgammon set. The case is solid including the hinges and clasps. The felt board is perfect. Love how the dice roll across the felt surface without clanking. It has a pleasing appearance with the points not being stitched in. The checker pieces are beautiful, solid and are the perfect size. The weight of the pieces are perfect. The blue and white pieces are really nice. I looked at many backgammon sets and returned many. I am so glad I ran across this set. This one is staying with me for years and years of enjoyment.

Worth the money
This is a high quality board. It’s gorgeous and the felt is nice to play on. The checkers have nice heft and it’s a good size board. I bought it as a gift for my husband and he loved it. I have to admit I was shocked at how expensive backgammon sets were when I started looking. This one fell in the middle of the price range, but I feel it has the quality of a more expensive board.

Don't do it! NOT worth it! Get it somewhere else!
The FIRST board I received had the closure damaged. The SECOND one the felt part of the board was raised. For the cost of this board you would expect some quality control. It would take them a minute to open it and check it before they send it to you. Spend your money elsewhere, it was a waste of time and money! I will specifically look for this company's name JUNGLER for future purchases to avoid buying from them. Amazon returns was quick and easy, that's the only good part about this whole experience.

Great board!
The reviews are right, this is a high quality board! It's packaged nicely, and I don't see any scuffs or dings anywhere. The chips are large, satisfying, and easy to slide to new positions. The dice roll very quietly on the board. The white chips are slightly transparent. If I wanted to nitpick, I would say I'd prefer if they were a more opaque/deep white. And I think I have a preference for the black background on the board to be a light gray. But hey, these are just minor preferences. As it is, it's a great board. It's nice to look at and very enjoyable to play on

The pieces are perfect weight, size and the colors are good to the eyes.
This board looks good. I really like the size and weight of the pieces. The only thing I don't care for is, the pieces are too loose in the storage tray. So we usually have difficulty closing the case.

Nice set!!
I was a little hesitant of this set initially because I didn’t know the brand but everyone who has played on this set (including myself) has really enjoyed it. The blue color is beautiful and the felt bottom feels good and nicely dampens the sound of the dice. I have upgraded cups and feel this set is a good value. I like the large size. It’s substantial without being over the top or wimpy. The checkers are very nice quality.

Great seller, Great product
Just a word about this seller. We purchased a slightly cheaper wooden backgammon set that came lightly scratched. We returned it, no problem. The replacement came and it has similar issues, we determined this was just going to be the case with the wooden set so we returned that one as well - NO PROBLEM! I find this kind of customer service rare these days. This seller seems to be driven by making sure the customer is 100% satisfied. We ordered this upgrade, which was a little more expensive, but well worth it! It is a beautiful board, well constructed - just feels luxurious even when just rolling the dice. I highly recommend this seller and this product.

Top quality
Took a while to get here but worth the wait. I wanted a quality set for my wife’s birthday and wasn’t disappointed. The case has a quality feel and look and inside the felt looks fantastic. The pieces are also quality with a cool marble look to them. Dice, cups and doubler also look top quality. Well worth paying a premium price if you want a quality set.
