MDD MAXDIGITALDATA 2TB 32MB Cache 7200PM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5inch Internal Surveillance CCTV DVR Hard Drive (MD2000GSA3272DVR) (Renewed)

First Hard Drive stopped working, contacted seller shipped me a replacement right away and its working great sent the other unit back, great customer service worked great on my Defender Vision AI DVR.

I've only had this hard drive for a few week but so far so good. It was for an NVR and it runs cool and quiet. If I have a problem in the future I will update my review

I unfortunately can't comment on the durability and reliability of this drive since I've only had it for a week. It's had hard use during that time, however, and has been working so far. $40 for 2T of storage is crazy cheap IF this lasts. I'm using this as a back-up drive and for this price I could get two of them for redundancy. The only small negative is that this drive is considerably noisier than a WD drive I have sitting right next to it. Generally, I equate noise with looser fittings and greater vibration, but so far this is just speculation. As with any hard drive....as with any data storage of any kind, really....the key is redundancy.

I have a dual boot Windows/Linux PC with a small SSD and a 6TB HDD. I run Linux 99% of the time, but keep the HDD formatted NTFS for those times I need Windows. Dropbox decided that if the PC is running Linux the drive must be formatted ext.. I attempted to repartition the existing HDD but ran into problems. The easiest solution was to add an ext. formatted drive just for Dropbox. Whatever. The drive works fine but doesn't get much use. It's a traditional rotating hard disk drive. There's not much to love about 30-year-old technology. Ask me about my SSD's and I'll show you the love.

The first one I bought last just over a year. Since it was still under the two-year warranty, they replaced it free of charge. The second one lasted over 6 years. Well worth the money and they stand behind their products.

I keep getting bad hard drives from Amazon. What is going on? There is no quality control. I mean, all you have to do is plug them in and listen to see if the platter starts spinning. I have had three bad hard drives in a row! Amazon you make me sad.

When the HDD failed in my home security camera system I looked online and learned it’s easy to replace. I ordered this and it works perfectly in my Zosi system. Under 10 minutes to install.

Works with night owl system.
