Accurate and affordable for home monitoring
I find this test to be accurate. However user error is probably more often the cause of incorrect readings and errors. Not always of course. If you are careful, and follow the instructions exactly I think you will get a accurate enough result to sufficiently monitor your a1c between lab work. The lancet is disappointing and sometimes does not puncture adequately. It can be tricky to push the blood collector and other part together firmly. The other surprising point is how many users complain about accuracy but even glucose monitors with test strips are not required to be exact there is an allowable percentage for them to be deemed sufficient. It is convenient, reasonably priced and the more you use it the easier it is to use.

Great product would recommend
Great and great price. Too bad out of stock I need to order more hopefully more are available before I am over due for it. Compares to the one at the doctor's office. Doctor has been checking me every 3 months and I have been checking at home the day before to compare to the doctor's results. they are very close to each other. My last one was actually .2 higher then the doctor's office but it was taken the day before. Doctor says to use this one. I will continue to buy this brand. I did ruin 1 test the first time I used it then watched the video on how to use it. Much better to watch the video vs the pamphlet that comes with it.

Follow the directions!
I am cautiously giving this a 5. The reason: if you are scrupulously following the directions, you will have a reading that is either exact, or very, very close (01. to 0.3) of your doctors reading. The upshot: TAKE YOUR TIME! FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS and you will receive a very accurate reading. This beats the living daylights out a visiting your doc or a clinic once every 3 months for a reading. Monitor your diet and be sure you are getting daily exercise. NO, you do not need to do HITT! Should you wish to do HIIT. more power to you; however, walking 30 to 60 min per day will almost guarantee a lower blood glucose average. JUST MY OPINION, and by all listen to your PCP and do your own research.

Really unreliable results. How was this ever FDA approved?
I work in the health field and run point of care lab tests/ABGs, BMPs, CHCs etc. The within day values reported fluctuate too greatly to be reliable. For example, two tests on the same day have readings of 6.1 and 4.8? Moreover, I tested it with a licensed lab, and the HBA1c value was 0.8 lower than a Quest lab result. So in other words, this is basically a random number generator. I would not make any health decisions based on this kit. Also, the number of failures per kit is unacceptable . Again, I am an experienced lab technician with 25 years of POC testing experience. 2 of the 4 tests in one recent kit just failed for unclear QC issues. Given the expense of this kit that is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor. Have your doctor order a verified lab HBA1C test or use one of those home kits where a real blood sample is taken. I have no idea how this was FDA approved. I rarely write reviews but in this case CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Consistent results but a bit off compared to commercial lab
This meter is very consistent, but I have found it to be 0.3-0.5 lower than a commercial lab's results that I normally use for bloodwork. The test is very easy to perform and there are 4 tests in a single kit. Since this test is very consistent, I still use this kit and just adjust the results to track my A1C.

A1C - can it be-
Wonderful tool! Just watch the expiration date. I ordered and used two- called wonderful Customer Service who also advised- expiration date 6 mos from that day- other than that is as accurate as the test my doc performs!

great readings
I have used this test kit for years now and it is always right on point . If I am going in for lab tests , I test that morning so I can see if it will match what comes back from the lab . It is always the same . I am fasting on both tests . I recommended this brand .

Solid so far โ accuracy check still to come.
I watched the how-to video carefully before performing the test. On my first try I used too much blood and the result wasn't usable (an OR2 error, I believe). On the second try it worked perfectly โ I got a result, and it was in line with where I expected my A1c to be. One thing to note: I haven't yet compared it against a lab draw, so I can't personally vouch for its accuracy versus professional testing. I plan to run it on the same day as my next lab test (about 45 days out) to see how closely they match. For ease of use and doing what it advertises, it earns a 5 from me. Tip to avoid my mistake: don't try to load a big drop of blood. Just touch the collector to the blood droplet and it will draw in exactly the amount it needs. Getting that right is the difference between a wasted test and a clean result.
