I purchased the TP-Link VIGI 8 Channel NVR and I am very happy with the product. The setup was simple, the interface is easy to use, and video playback is smooth. Recording quality is excellent and remote viewing works well. I also updated the NVR to the latest firmware version, which improved performance and ensured the latest features and compatibility. One of the best features is its support for ONVIF-compatible cameras. I successfully connected cameras from different brands, including Imou, Hikvision, and CP Plus through the network. This makes it a flexible and cost-effective solution for expanding a CCTV system.

I’m using it as an NVR for my Tapo TC70 and C320WS cameras. The VIGI mobile app lets you access video playback and view detection clips directly, and it also sends real-time notifications whenever motion or a person is detected. Both the C320WS and TC70 are connected to the NVR via RTSP. There’s a slight delay of about 10–20 seconds between the recorded playback and the live feed, although the live video in the VIGI app itself has only a 1–2 second delay. One odd thing I noticed is that the box doesn’t include a LAN cable — which is strange, considering a wired internet connection is essential for the system to work properly. Update: Motion detection is acting weird. Even after an event occurs, the motion detection continues for several minutes — or sometimes even hours — for no apparent reason.

The VIGI NVR1008H is a good and reliable 8-channel network video recorder. It is easy to set up, works smoothly, and provides stable recording performance. The video playback is simple, and the interface is user-friendly. Overall, it is a useful and budget-friendly NVR for home, shop, or office CCTV setup.

Not compatible with other brands

Got this for around 4.6k after discounts, at this price its a decent device. Many reviews and other documentation seem to imply that there is no web interface, but there is a web based interface available. I received the v2 hardware revision as expected which seem to support cameras upto 8 MP and more simultaneous viewing. I have ordered few VIGI IP cams which I'm yet to receive but I had a no-brand PTZ IP cam lying around, was able to add that cam to the NVR and it worked great. Even the PTZ functions worked as well. I haven't tried the desktop app, but the mobile app is simple and decent enough. Web interface also work decently, but there is certainly improvements that's necessary. Some PTZ functions do not work over the web UI for example.

Don't waste your money , buy elsewhere nothing but junk

Great product. Was easy to setup and there is a web portal for management after initial setup. Works wonderfully with VIGI VMS cloud. Remote view, PTZ control all are excellent via the app. Definitely recommend for budget setups.

Très bien nvr fait sont travail pas mal d'options

Bought a cheap ONVIF camera to connect to this. Camera works fine, connected via Blue Iris in seconds. This just fails with an 'Unknown error'. It's useless, as I don't want to pay 5x the price for TP Link cameras. Utterly uselesss.

Comprei para usar com as minhas câmaras TP-Link Tapo e evitar ter um servidor sempre ligado só para as gravações, sendo que era um serviço baseado em software. Sendo esta solução uma opção dedicada, é mais fiável, gasto menos energia e simplifica muito. Como as câmaras não são do sistema Vigi (são Tapo), não tenho acesso a todas as funções das câmaras no NVR, mas é um pormenor de que tinha conhecimento quando comprei e, para o meu caso, não tem relevância. A configuração é fácil (para quem já usa e configurou sistemas de videovigilância) e o funcionamento do aparelho é ótimo, nada a apontar.
