Brix measures the amount of solids in solution. That means it will measure sugar but also all other nutrients that are in the juice. It’s not just sugar.

Where is written directions booklet ?

Instructions are included in the box. But not much to it. Put a few drops of wine on the slanted glass, flip the plastic on top of the glass, where wine will be sandwiched. Wait 30 seconds or so. Looks through the scope eye piece and read the graduated scale, Brix number.
