My opinion is the physical design is much improved from the previous model. The scroll wheel does not stick out as far, and seems less susceptible to being damaged. There are also indentations on each side of the player, allowing it to be be held more securely. I returned a first gen M0 mostly because of the older design flaws, and have decided to keep this newer version. However, there are some short comings. The user interface seems to be the same as before, which is ok, BUT, I will confirm as mentioned in at least one other review that the touch control is not the greatest. Swiping left and right seems slow, and swiping up and down goes SUPER FAST. You have to be very attentive to keep it from going from A to Z in a split second. The player came with a screen protector installed, which I removed hoping to improve the touch performance, but it didn't. I'm positive this can be fixed with a firmware update, because I have a Fiio player that had the same issue which was eventually fixed with a firmware update. Whether they address this problem in the future is unknown. I am no audiophile, but my opinion is it sounds very good. The battery as mentioned is not that great, but it is very small, so I'm not sure that can be improved, especially while using Bluetooth. As mentioned, wired and Bluetooth sounds good to me, but I have always had problems with the Bluetooth connection on ALL music players while they are in my pocket, and this player is no different. While holding, or resting on a table the connection is fine.

It is wonderfully small and cleverly designed. But used as a digital player sending the FLAC files to a DAC depletes the battery in less than 45 minutes. I bought a second one thinking the first was defective, but no, it did the same thing. Maybe wonderfully small is a bad feature of something that is battery powered! Updated review: I returned one and kept the other one because this cutie outputs a LDAC blue tooth signal which I can transmit directly to my miniDSP, so I kept one to perform the original function in a different way. It is true that the EXPANDED user manual (that you have to find and download) explains that how I wanted to use it originally was not a good idea - because it depleted the battery - but this isn't mentioned in the totally worthless mini-user manual that comes with the product. So with that understanding, it works great now as a file transmitter and it gets 4 stars (nothing is perfect)

The good: The UI is very responsive, despite glitches and crashes. It's just fine as a USB DAC. The BT mostly works, though the range is short and it doesn't like obstructions very much. The little volume wheel has a nice clicky feel to it. Startup only takes a few seconds and a few more to get going. Scanning songs isn't automatic unless you want it to be. There are more options to configure than you'd expect, and the BT remote control app is better than using the player itself, though it disconnects often and may refuse to re-pair. The bad: The interface is pretty terrible for navigation and selecting music. All the icon and font sizes are so large that, on a folder/file/song name, you can see maybe the first word and a half. If your music is "artist - title", you won't ever see the titles in folder view. Sure, any too-long line can be made to slowly scroll by swiping on it, but only one line at a time. Also due to font size and spacing, only three or four lines worth of songs/albums/etc. fit on screen at a time, and while swipe to scroll works, you get slow, extremely fast, and nothing in between. Touchscreen, on something this tiny, is just a little hard to use no matter what. If you tend to fat-finger buttons on your phone or have big hands, you're in for a challenge. The "MP4" designation in the marketing is a bit misleading - what they mean is "AAC". It doesn't play MP4 containers with any other codec. It would never finish scanning the music I loaded onto a microsd card - it always quit somewhere in the middle, and I could never get it to finish. That made the album, artist, etc. sections a bit useless. The ugly: Battery life is not good, even with sensitive unbalanced IEMs. Playing FLAC or MP3 files, I can get maybe 10 hours with BT off, modest volume, no EQ, and leaving the screen off all day. Acting as a BT DAC, again with no EQ and modest volume, the battery is in the red at 0-1 bars (of 5) at the five or six hour mark. Charging is slow, especially given the battery size. I have no idea what conditions would get you the claimed almost 15 hours. I'm just not super happy with the battery. It gets through a work day only if I keep the screen use minimal and bluetooth off, which precludes using the remote control app - which is the only tolerable way to navigate the thing. Overall: I can only recommend this if you're okay with a short battery life, challenging UI, unreliable BT, and some minor to modest other quirks, or if you intend to strap it to a battery bank bigger than it is and use it via the (Android only) BT remote app. Edit: After being repeatedly asked by the seller via Amazon messages to up my rating, I no longer feel I can recommend this player, or anything by this brand, in good conscience.
