So I was very unsure about this collar when I first made the purchase, especially because of the subscription, but let me just say I was incredibly wrong and it is absolutely amazing. I just recently purchased it, and my dog has only been wearing it for about 2 days now. During the 2nd day we decided to let her stay in the yard while we went out. She had gotten out, of course, and travel 8 miles without any water and in some crazy heat (104 F) and thanks to the gps feature that Tractive provides we were able to find her fairly quickly and it lead us to her exact location! So to anybody worried it’s definitely worth it, granted I am still learning how it works but as of now I’m quite grateful she has it and how well it works!😊 p.s this was in Texas hill country where you don’t always have cell service so again big thank you to the gps feature Tractive provides!

Honestly, I didn't have high hopes for this tracker. I have six Beagles and 15 acres in a rural area. Any Beagle lover will tell you that fences are no match these avid hunters as their ears seem to turn off when their sniffers go into overdrive. Air tags did not work for us and I was tired of chasing these adorable garbage disposals through the woods. I started with one tracker out of desperation and, to my surprise, it worked better than I would have hoped. Please note that this is technology and is at the mercy of the GPS signal it receives. I receive a message within a minute or two of the dogs leaving the "safe" area. Live tracking works like a dream - even in our rural area. The tracker "jingle" is not very loud. You cannot use it to track your dog. However, our dogs can hear it and every one of them will turn around and come home as soon as they hear it. That was an unexpected and crazy awesome benefit. I've even sent a jingle while I was halfway across the country and it worked flawlessly. All the dogs now have a tracker. It fits on their collars well, light weight, and charges quickly. For us, this tracker is worth every penny.

We have 3 beagles, I’d be devastated if something happened to them that I could have helped avoid. Tractive helps give me some peace of mind. They are super easy to activate and use. The app is very easy to navigate. They are affordable. The location seems to be very accurate. I would definitely recommend these to everyone with pets.

IF YOU ARE OLD THIS IS A NIGHTMARE. Worst AI customer service. We got a defective tracker that almost got hot enough to melt when plugged in and could not have more than an hour charge. Had to go through 20 emails to get the warranty approved, with suggestions like "have you put it in power saving mode, try that and write us back in a few days." We just didn't want to catch our kitchen on fire with this thing. Obviously AI auto responses that didn't even read what we wrote. Had to buy another tracker for our dog after the warranty replacement was approved because you have to send it away first to get a new one. As soon as we put the new one on the account everything with the old one disappeared including the warranty claim. When we wrote back to the 20 email conversation that we could no longer get the mailing label when we click on the link they sent us, we got an AI message that the 20 email conversation was now closed and invited us to start a new one. =\ STUPIDITY

Overall, I enjoy this product and would buy again. I have three dogs that like to leave my property and visit the neighbor's farm. I bought 3 trackers with 5 year subscriptions. The sound feature is nice to alert the dogs that they've been snagged by Mommy, but it's not very loud for me to hear where they are unless they're very very close. The notifications that they left the safe zone are somewhat delayed by about 3-6 mins which is somewhat disappointing. But my dogs have learned their boundaries in just the last 2 months of using these and they rarely ever stray from the property anymore. Live track feature is nice to have a second by second update if I need to head one of them off. Battery life isn't terrible. I usually get just about a week between charges. Sunday night is usually charging night for everyone, but each tracker depletes at a different rate I've found and not entirely sure why.

These are the absolute best, had my first one for almost 5 years and only replaced it when we got our new puppy. You get both daily and weekly reports on your pups activities, rewards, they monitor sleep and various patterns in you pups life and let you know if something changes! I will be a lifetime Tractive user!

This Tractive device is a GREAT idea, and we're much less stressed about the whereabouts of our dog, for the most part. Here are the pros and cons: PROS: - Being able to trigger "Live" mode and track exactly where our dog is on our acreage is fantastic. - It recharges with USB-C connections, which makes it trivial to charge since we're all USB-C in our house. - The "Health" tracking is fun, including Leaderboards for groups like nearest 50 dogs with Tractives, ranking within breed, and ranking across all Tractive dogs for things like sleep and activity. CONS: - The Tractive offers a power-saving mode based on if it senses your home wifi signal. This is an interesting idea, however the issue is twofold for us: first, we went to great pains to ensure our wifi covers our entire property, and second, when the Tractive senses your home wifi and goes into power-saving mode you cannot enable live tracking unless you wait up to 20 minutes for it to do it's scheduled check-in. - If you don't use the low-power mode described in the above bullet (we don't) then battery life is not great. Ours consumes between 35%-45% every 24 hours, so we have added "charging the Tractive" to our daily device charging routine. - The stretchy strap that holds the Tractive to the collar tore within the first 3 months and we had to replace it with aftermarket straps. Note we have one dog and no kids so the Tractive wasn't being pulled/tugged by another creature, just our dog out running around by herself. - The Live Tracking fails to engage about 30%-40% of the time and we have to retry it. So far we haven't urgently needed tracking but if/when we do we're not confident in it kicking in quickly or reliably. Overall we'd rather have this device than not have it, but, man, it could be SO much better with just a few tweaks. For example, if they'd make the Live Tracking activation delay something shorter than 20 minutes when in power-saving mode that would be great - like, add middle option that extends battery life just not as much. That being said, for people with minimal wifi range the power-saving feature might work great, but for us with acreage and outdoor wifi access points it would mean that if we used power-saving mode and wanted to find our dog on our property we have to do it the old fashioned way, walking around and looking (she's deaf so we can't call her). The issues we have with the Tractive seem like things they could fix with future firmware updates, so we'll see. Bottom line is we're not sorry we bought it but we're frustrated with its limitations and cheap/shoddy straps.

Wir haben unseren Hund jetzt seit knapp 7 Monaten und er ist schon vom Grundstück ausgebüxt, er kam zwar nach 30 Minuten wedelnd und zufrieden zurück, allerdings waren das die längsten und hektischsten 30 Minuten, die wir erlebt haben, da wir einfach nicht wussten, wo er ist, also musste etwas her und wir haben uns da sehr lange wie auch viel informiert. Nach langer Recherche kam nur noch Tractive in Frage, auch wenn es teils negative Bewertungen gibt in Sachen Ortung. Bestellt und angekommen haben wir ihn direkt eingerichtet mit dem größten Abo und haben die das ganze ausgetestet, vorab sehr prositiv! Die ersten zwei Tests waren komisch, was am Umgang mit der App lag, dann aber hat es wunderbar funktioniert und wir sind dann in den Wald gegangen, ab da wurde dann der Tracker durch meine Eltern versucht zu orten und sind dann zu dem Punkt hingekommen. Was sollen wir sagen, die haben uns auf Anhieb gefunden, denn der tracker ist bis auf ein paar Meter sehr genau und schnell. Natürlich haben wir das in mehreren Situationen getestet und es hat immer mit Bravour funktioniert, also in unseren Augen alles richtig gemacht. Man darf natürlich nicht vergessen, dass das Orten recht viel Akku kostet und man so schneller laden muss, allerdings kommen wir im normalen Alltag problemlos über eine Woche hin und das ist genial. Was auch noch genial ist, man kann den tracker einen angenehmen Ton abspielen lassen und das haben wir uns zu nutzen gemacht, denn wir haben unseren Hund darauf getrimmt, dass wenn der Ton erklingt, er sofort zu uns kommt und das funktioniert hervorragend. Ebenso hat der tracker ein kleines Licht, was im Dunkeln recht gut ist, denn so fällt er auf. Gesundheitsdaten sind natürlich nicht ganz ernst zu nehmen, denn dafür fehlen dem Sensoren und der direkte Kontakt zu Haut, allerdings sind es recht gute Richtwerte und kann einem helfen, wenn es den Hund wirklich schlechter geht. Bisher sind wir vollkommen zufrieden und können mit besten Gewissen den tracker empfehlen. Wir hoffen sehr, dass die Rezension hilfreich war und ein wenig Klarheit reingebracht hat. Sollte sich irgendwas ergeben, was die Aktualisierung der Bewertung erfordern würde, geben wir das auch hier bekannt.

La verdad, estoy sorprendido porque el GPS Tractive DOG 6 es una pasada! Una amiga tenía el DOG 4 desde años y estaba muy contenta, por eso compré; pero el 6 es aun mas perfecto! Led para cobertura móvil del Tractive, led cobertura GPS, 4 leds batería, carga mas fácil de conectar. En la App Tractive en mi móvil, cambie el map (de Google) de "normal" a "satélite" y va genial (hacemos siempre caminatas en la naturaleza). Mi perra es una cazadora (yo no!) y hacemos largas caminatas en el monte, playas de Tenerife, colinas, etc. Antes de tener el Tractive, a veces la esperaba 30mn hasta 2h(!), sin tener ni idea de si estaba a mi Norte, Sur, Oeste o Este! Y lo peor, no sabía si se acercaba o cruzaba una carretera, si había regresado al coche... Ahora con el Tractive DOG 6, si no la veo o si no viene cuando silbo (tengo silbador hecho para hacer kayak, que es muy potente), pongo la App Tractive en marcha en mi móvil y activo el modo "LIVE" (el DOG 6 envía entonces localización en directo, de manera continua) (sin "LIVE", envia menos a menudo). Y entonces veo donde esta mi perra en mi pantalla, con el map "satélite" y entiendo de que lado tengo que ir para acercarme y/o silbar, veo si todo bien o si hay peligros (carretera, pueblo, etc.). La veo andar y correr en mi pantalla, es muy gracioso! También me doy ahora cuenta del deporte fuerte que hace a veces!!! (Es media Podenco y media Presa Canario). Hace solo 11 día que uso el GPS pero casi cada día y puedo decir que el Tractive DOG 6 es una pasada! Lo cargué une sola vez al recibirlo y aun esta a 56%! (Lo pongo solo para caminatas) Han pensado en cortar automáticamente el modo "LIVE" tras 5mn por si acaso no hay cobertura de repente y que yo no lo puedo cortar desde mi móvil. Mi pantalla me dice (en modo LIVE) la distancia en metros entre mi perra e yo, la altitud, la batería del DOG 6 (ex: "56%"), si tiene o no cobertura "En linea" o "Esperando cobertura" o "esperando GPS", etc. Por supuesto, en el mapa veo un punto azul que soy yo; y un icono de perro que es mi perra. Puedo hacer zoom o alejar para entender donde estamos uno relativamente al otro y/o ver carreteras, playas, barrancos... Pongo 3 capturas de pantallas. Cuando vamos a nadar en el mar, le quito en Tractive por si acaso. Elegí un plan SIM de 2 años "Mundial" (Premium) a 108 euros, o sea solo 4,50 euros/mes. La única "pega", es que si mi perra y/o yo no tenemos cobertura móvil y/o GPS, entonces no se puede hacer nada, pero esto no es culpa de Tractive. Aquí también el modelo DOG 6 esta mejor que le DOG 4 porque el 6 tiene cobertura 2G y 4G LTE cuando el 4 tenia solo 2G (y en algunas zonas, empiezan a quitar la 2G). Recomiendo el Tractive DOG 6 al 2.000%! :)
