A good read!!!
A good read for all ages. I like the illustration in this book. The pages are not too short or long.

Perfect for 3rd to 5th graders
Love this book series the information wasn't overly wordy great for kids with a healthy grasp of reading skills. Wouldn't say it's beginner level but that nice intermediate level. We use these books for book reports in our home school and I can't say enough about them. There's also a ton of them too!

Loved it. It is a great history !!! It is easy for learn English because the vocabulary it’s good and The story is entertaining.

Great book series
I bought this for my son to use to research for a school project. He really enjoyed it and said it was all very useful information and was easy to go back to find things he was looking for. I love all The Who Was, What Was books. I have a bunch in my classroom library.

Great book for my son
The history it provides for young African American men and women. It let them know how the people that came before them overcame a much hard time and that they can do it to.

love the book. I purchased it for a child who loves to read. they found the book to be fun and informative and thoroughly enjoyed it. I myself did not read it so i can not comment on the content.

Great series of books to simplify histrort for the young.
Excellent book to explain black history in a really simple & non complicated manner to children of younger ages my daughter is 7years old & loved all of the series I purchased all of them African American range in the books for black history month but will be extending my daughter library with other historical characters in the series.
