What is the length of this table?

With the leaf lowered, it is 28 inches long by 14 1/2 inches wide. With the leaf raised, the total surface becomes nearly square, about 28 inches by 29 inches. (If you wanted to use it in a really tight space, you'd have to figure another 1 1/4 inches to the length because of the dish towel holder.)

The static weight capacity for the stools are 200 lbs. each.

What is the purpose of the hole cut in the underside of the table top?

It's either to screw the table top to the base or for the swing out arm to hold up the fold up side of the table top
