This is a great dash camera
This is the third one of these that I have purchased. There are two real parts of the install. One is mounting the camera to the windshield, and the second is running the wiring for power to the camera. The camera is really in two parts. The main camera which is a small cube, and an adapter that sticks to the windshield and holds the camera in place. In the box you get a clear sheet that looks like a screen protector that you are supposed to stick to the windshield and you stick the camera to that. After trying this once, either I didn't do it right or it didn't work right. The camera fell off. So I now leave that stuff in the box and stick the mount directly to the glass. (Be sure to clean the glass first). This works well. You do need as Micro-SD card to capture the images. The app needs to be downloaded to see the clips captured but you can also remove the Micro-SD and look at them on a computer or whatever. Unless you just plug in the cable to the camera and drape the wire down to the power port in your car, wiring is more of a problem than sticking the camera to the windshield. The cable with the camera is a usb-c on the camera end and what was called the cigarette lighter plug in the other end. If your car only has USB A or C connectors, you will need to purchase a separate cable. A small tool is provided to lift up trim parts on the car to slide the cable underneath to make it look nice. On some cars (Like my Jeep Wrangler) this is very easy to do. The others were installed on Kia and Hyundai cars which seem to be be build much tighter fits, and were a real pain. The level of difficulty will depend on your car and how hidden you want the cable to be. The camera works well and has an excellent picture quality. If you don't want it recording your conversations in the car, you can mute the microphone. It records in a loop, so older clips get erased when the memory card is full. You should also format the card on a regular basis. How much video you can keep depends on the size of the card you purchase. The only other comment I have is that it does get hot.

Solid Dash Cam
Where do you begin picking a dash cam with so many types...and reviews. Overwhelmed by the options - the pros and cons list came out. I selected this Vantrue E1 Pro 4k Mini Dash Cam and hit the roads. Right out of the box I knew I made the right choice. Delivered fast and packaged well. HINT: keep the inner product packaging as it makes a convenient protected storage box for the included extras not in use AND use the recommended SD card type!!! #1 - The product itself is the perfect size and doesn't get in the way or distracting when driving. The added benefit of the longer power cord is awesome and fits within the dash crevices, barely noticeable when using the clips included. I didn't find the cord too short or too long at all. Unser manual made it easy to understand instillation without you reading it and asking yourself "what did I just read?" Once plugged into the cigarette lighter it was good to go in under 5 minutes. I had no problems with WiFi connection so maybe some reviewers had spotty connections? I also tried the alternative usb cord and both gave the same results, no lag or pixelated images/videos. I am using the Vantrue SD card for combability AS RECOMMENDED IN THE MANUAL, found no issues with errors or formatting or recording. The dash cam has a nice heft, not cheap or plastic like others. When mounted it remains stable and didn't wobble or shake when driving, even on the gravel road by my house. I wear progressive lens glasses and the display screen is very, very clear!. Icons are easy to distinguish and navigate. Driving in direct sunlight the camera was without reflection using the included lens. I see results exactly clear like on the product listing. Night time I have no diminished clarity for phots or recording. The low night vision setting makes viewing much lighter in very dark roads. Reviewing the playback on my phone is super slick. BONUS- I used it to help "teach" a new driver in the house on some driving mistakes. Bottom line I am happy with my purchase and will buy again for the 2nd vehicle.

Super easy install.
Great size and easy installation. The video quality is good and has many features. The menu is a bit difficult to navigate and some settings are not where you would expect them. The window mount has the power connection so you don’t have to remove the cord when you take it off your windshield. The power cord is plenty long making it easy to route around the dash and windshield. The only thing you need to supply is the micro sd card!

Dash cam
Easy to install, real good night/day recording, memory card seems to be of good size. Power is easy to use a ignition switched cigarette lighter socket. Connectivity to phone is easy to do, finally was able get a decent dash cam as a very reasonable price.

Nice little easy to use, feature packed, windshield camera
Was looking for a small camera that didn't take up a lot of window space. Found it. Easy to set up, it comes with the 12 V plug so that you can test it out before you spend time running wires. Optional hard wire kits. I plan on getting the behind mirror USB kit to hide all the power cords, but that will be later. It's got great video quality and a lot of usable features. Does get hot though, but it seems to be built nicely with a metal casing and has built in temperature sensors and shut down features. Been using it for about 2 weeks now, still have not tucked away power cord because still testing out, and plan on removing it to a rental vehicle to see how it handles being moved from car to car. Comes with the ND filter, something I did not see in other cameras. This allows you to negate out the reflection of the dash in the windshield. One negative, if you use Android Auto, you cannot use the VanTrue APP, they do not play with each other that I could figure out. I'll have to remove the camera (easy enough to do with slide out mount) and plug it into the USB port of a computer to download videos. Love the fact that these things now use the electrostatic cling sheets, so when you want to remove them, you can easily with no glue mess. You just need to purchase some replacement adhesive kits, that can be found on Amazon as well

High Quality
The shooting effect of it is truly outstanding. Whether it's during the day or at night, the captured images are extremely clear. It's easy to install and can also be compatible with my existing wireless control equipment. This product will be very suitable. The cost-performance ratio is very high.

THIS THING GETS HOT!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: The camera works, sure! It works in parking mode as well! The camera is oddly big as well. The app works great, so long as you disconnect your phone from your car. Like most apps, connecting to the camera app can be very spotty if you’re connected to your vehicles Bluetooth. Dear lord, does this camera get hot. When I say hot, I mean HOT! I drive throughout the day, performing service at multiple different residential communities. My job has me getting in and out of my work vehicle, which causes my camera to switch between parking mode and regular mode periodically. This camera gets so hot that if I tough the camera for a few seconds, it literally burns. Burns to the point that it would cause a severe burn if I were to hold my finger against it for more than a few seconds. That is really my only gripe. It is worrisome and I am scared about the longevity of it. A word of advice, connect to the app PRIOR to hanging it, so you can get a full view of what your camera sees. What the small LCD screen shows is not the full view of what will be recorded. Beware of that before removing the sticky strip and hanging it.

Small 4K Dash Camera with Solid Features
I decided to update my current Vantrue X4 to the new Vantrue E1 Pro. Since I like a clean passenger compartment, I use the optional hardware kits and route the cable behind molding and tucked up under the windshield header. The question is: did Vantrue change the connector that plugs into the camera/mount at the end of the cable? Yes, of course they did! So a new hardwire kit was required that has the now industry standard USB-C type connector. Packaging: The box that the camera comes in looks professional, includes security tabs showing that the camera box has not been opened and has an overall shrink wrap. The camera and Pro CPL Filter lens were well protected in sealed pouches surrounded by foam. The accessory box contains: GPS Mount, Cigarette lighter car charger, USB-A to USB-C data cable (3.3ft), Electrostatic stickers, Cable clips, Warning stickers, Plastic crowbar, User Manual, Warranty registration. User Manual: It’s thick, but then I realized it was in several languages. It was fairly detailed and well structured with the sections ordered in logical steps. It starts with an overview of the camera, then Installation, then setup, then how to use it and its features. There are some things like License Plate Number and Date & Time that make sense to set up and others that may be user preference. Just make sure to format the SD Card before you start system and recording setup. Installation: The E1 Pro is much smaller than the previous X4. I found a good place to mount the camera but was somewhat limited by the USB-C connector being straight-in rather than a preferable L-shaped. I had to mount the camera low enough to clear the car’s windshield electronics plate behind the rear-view mirror that seems to take up more space every year. Since this was an update from a previous camera, I had already identified the correct fuse location for the 12v power connection. This cable did have an additional lead for ACC that I did need to find a place for. The hardwire kit also came with its own little manual that also provided detail picture examples of the different types of fuse sizes and fuse array in the vehicle. Just be careful to understand that the fuse layout is only an example and the location and layout will probably be different for your vehicle. It was also a nice surprise that Vantrue added a few more inches to the cable length between the camera connector and voltage protection block; made a big difference! Usage: The camera itself is very easy to use. You can start using it with just the default settings or take some time and customize it more to your needs. The 4K videos are very clear and provide the best chance of getting a good recording of any incident that might happen. Pictures are also good but tend to pixelate when zooming in too much. I did notice that the camera got hot after prolonged use but that didn’t seem to impact performance during this first week since purchase. Video/Picture Viewing: Viewing the recorded video is easy and can be done from the camera, from a computer with the provided USB adapter cable, or the Vantrue app. When using the computer, the camera files appear as an additional drive. With my Windows 11 computer, I was able to simply click on a file, and it starts playing the video and audio. I also just moved the SD-Card from the camera to my computer and was able to view the video and pictures as the files appeared as just another drive letter with the various folders used to store the video and images. Summary: I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a front dash camera capable of amazing pictures at 4K resolution. The quality of the Vantrue Dash Camera is evident in simply holding the product, and should you need it, the Customer Service is responsive.

Great value
I came from the E1 Lite and went from being unable to read a licence plate of a stationary car as I drove past to being able to read anyone's on the road. Almost the same product except higher quality camera and features. Physically identical, very compact.

Calidad a un precio moderado. Extremadamente recomendable.

Awesome quality, compact.
I bought this Dash camera about 1 year ago. The video quality is awesome; I can read license plates of other cars even at night. Best part is its size; it does not obstruct your view like other dash cams, it is really small. I would recommend getting the polarizing filter, no glare from the sun or other light sources once I attached the polarizing filter. One thing to note is that the camera runs a bit hot during summer, I think it is due to its compact size but does not overheat or crash. The video quality and the app is really good, one of my best purchases from amazon so far.

Excellent little dash-cam.
Well-made and surprisingly small. Easy to fit and unobtrusive. Unusually, it comes complete with a polarising filter to remove any screen reflections (just twist the filter once fitted until they disappear). Very reasonably priced for a 4k camera with the latest Sony Starvis 2 sensor which produces good, clear video day and night. A one-star review here claims that you can’t power it from a USB C socket but that hasn’t been my experience - it works perfectly for me. The screen is small but usable although it’s easier to set it up initially through the phone app. The only minor issue that I had with it was that if you use the GPS time signal for the internal clock, the daylight saving setting uses the US dates to automatically change in the spring and autumn which are different from the dates we use in the UK. That said, it’s easy enough to set the time manually so not so much a problem as an inconvenience. It does run very warm but no more than my previous dash-cam which lasted several years with any problems.

Good for Alaska or north-pole expedition !!!
Good for Alaska or north-pole expedition !!! Loved the product compact size, the functions and options .. BUT .. It overheats within about few minutes, even when used in the car with air-conditioning running at maximum cooling.. even tried windshield air-went at full (it’s currently winter in Saudi), well...I also tested it indoors in my home with the air-conditioner blowing directly onto the camera.... but it still became extremely hot. NOT recommended
